Stayed here for the Christmas markets. Nearly had to cancel and emailed the hotel before hand, they responded quickly but in the end didn’t cancel. Had breakfast first morning, basic continental, coffee fine and asked for a couple of fried eggs. The hotel has big rooms, nicely decorated throughout, showing a couple of signs of age but not enough to put you off. Lots of nice paintings and pictures everywhere. Reception staff very friendly. Would recommend for a city break.

The staff was very friendly and professional. The gentleman that checked us in was very helpful and even helped us bring our luggage to the room. We stayed in the historic older building of the hotel which was very nice. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was silent (slept very well). Would definitely stay here again if traveling to Cologne.

Parking 3 min from the hotel, breakfast is decent, to reach my room I had to take the elevator then go down few steps and another floor to climb. Not confortabile at all

Very nice Hotel in a good, reachable area. We had a two night stay and it's been awesome. The room was really big and cosy and clean, the king-size bed wow and the breakfast really good and everything was affordable next to the central and hip cologne areas! Unfortunately you can't buy the paintings ;) It's been a great stay. Even though the hotel is next to a main Street and on weekends, you didn't here the noise from outside. Really awesome. Totally recommend.

Stopped here for two nights, check in staff were lovely and friendly despite my poor German. The room was perfectly fine, nice comfortable bed and all the things I'd expect in a hotel room. The free wifi ended range at my room door so I had to sit just inside to use it, something they can remedy easy enough. My only real complaint is that the check out staff member was constantly smoking just outside and this left the reception stinking of cigarettes. Location was fine, around 20 min walk from the Dom and plenty of nice restaurants around to the east.

I stayed here for almost an entire month on my business trip to Cologne. The hotel is almost at the heart of the city and very well connected by local transport just a minute walk from Friesenplatz underground station. There are great options for food and nightlife around the hotel. I liked the vast breakfast options, high speed internet and cozy rooms. The entire hotel staff is very friendly and try their best to assist with everything. Really liked the fitness center in the hotel.

Staff was unfriendly. Stayed one night with girlfriend for a weekend in Cologne, which was nice, but not smooth. First we were put in a less comfortable room (no bath, seperate beds), even though we payed for the comfortable double room. After calling the reception, they promptly put us in another room (bath and 1 big bed). This room was very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was OK, but only machine coffee like espresso, macchiatto and cappuccino.

The only thing we really liked - beds are comfy & location superb. Got room 405, where there is a gap between the window and the wall. We heard all the noise coming from the street the whole night until 6am. The stay was ruined by this.

Located directly across the road of several Clubs, so super handy. Walking distance to the Dom about 10 to 15 minutes. The room was practical and clean, even if oldfashioned. The bed maybe a little too soft at the surface. Breakfast was great.

Worst experience with any hotel ever, biggest ripoff in my life... We made a reservation via booking just before the Covid period. Despite the FIBO show being cancelled we decided to still visit the city of Koln but german government banned tourism in full so it was physically impossible to travel to Germany. We asked the hotel for the refund and they gave us like the "credit" for the next time when the show will happen. When i wrote to them they said we had no show situation altough we were not able to travel before and the 1st time the show was scheduled i applied to use the hotels services. They demanded we pay 50% of the stay and we even transferred more money to them. When i asked if now everything is settled they did not answer to my 3 emails in 14 days. They have sent me notification 2 days before our travel that the hotel is closed and we will be moved to partners hotel. We stayed in partners hotel but got cheapest room in hotel which cost 80EUR/night. Bottom line total to Ascot hotel we have paid 515EUR(on booking) + 305EUR extra. 820EUR for 3 nights to not stay in their hotel. If we contacted the hotel we stayed in later directly, to them we would need to pay 240EUR for 3 nights. So they ripped us off for 580EUR. Worst experience and BIGGEST FRAUDS we have ever encountered!!!!
