I visited the shrine early in the morning. The slope is quite steep and the climb is very difficult. I've visited quite a few shrines, but this one is in the top three. It might be better to think of it more like a hike than a visit to a shrine. After reaching the top, you will be greeted by a spectacular panoramic view of the Nada. Once you pass through the torii gate, the approach leads straight to the main shrine, which is well maintained and has a wonderful atmosphere. I was a little concerned because not many locals wash their hands and dogs are allowed into the grounds while walking. lol If you walk from the station, I think it would be best to allow at least an hour to see the shrine, including the time to visit the shrine. There are several parking lots on the mountain side of Okamoto Station, so I think it would be convenient to use them.

A lovely shrine offering peace and tranquillity as you look over the expanse of Kobe and Osaka. Great place to refresh yourself. Bit of a walk up to the shrine, but is completely worth it.

(Translated by Google) It's a pleasant shrine. The zodiac statues are lined up from the side near the main shrine, and the entrance immediately after entering the torii is greeted by the wild boar, who often appears in this area. It has been used as an ancient ritual site since about 200 BC, and there are many large Iwakura scattered around (arranged?), Which suggests that it was a special place. The powerful bayberry tree that bends and coalesces with undulations seems to protect the ancient sanctuary. Shiinetsuhiko, like Taro Urashima riding a blue turtle, led the Akashi Strait during the eastern transition of Emperor Jimmu. Indeed, Yatsushiro (Large) Dragon King in the precincts is surely the god of the sea. I think the sea was getting closer at that time. It seems that the mountain road leading to the summit is connected to Rokko and Arima, so it seems that the distance can be adjusted according to time and physical strength. There are quite a few people who climb up. There was also a group doing energy work at this shrine, which has the legend of the origin of the ancient character Kata Kamuna, in an open rest area near the mountaintop. The cherry blossoms that were in full bloom a week ago were hazakura, but from now on, it seems that the season will be when the fresh green of maple leaves will become more and more beautiful. On the way, weasels with golden hair? Was bouncing. Fortunately, I was relieved that I didn't encounter any wild boar on this day. I also enjoyed watching the mansion on my way home.

From Hankyu Okamoto Station, you pass through a residential area, and the slope is steeper than before the approach, but the view in front of the torii gate is good.Once you pass through the torii gate, there are stone statues of the zodiac, which are quite cute. It's a small shrine, and it's probably the route (goal?) for climbers such as Mt. Rokko, but there are plenty of people there, so it's safe. Although it is old, there is a toilet and it is clean (no tissues provided).Does it use rainwater? The water was brown. There are no vending machines, so we recommend purchasing it near Okamoto Station. It is also a walking course for local people.

A short hike to a stunning temple with wild panoramic views of Kobe and Osaka. The mountain side is teaming with fascinating wildlife.

Child friendly hike! From the station you walk through a quiet residential area. At some point it starts to elevate, and there will be some steep parts but it’s not that bad. Only one toilet at the very top and no vending machines on the way. When you think you’ve huffed and puffed enough, there’s a sign that says “don’t give up, just a little more and you’ll be there!” Thank you, sign-san, we needed that :) At the top the view is wonderful and you can see the shrine and eat lunch in a nice park with Sakura and ume trees. From here you can hike more and either go towards Futatabi mount or Rokko Mountain. If you want that, prepping and using Yamap is a good idea. Bottom line, it takes about 30-40 min to get to the top and even little kids can manage it. Easy doable hike!

(Translated by Google) It is a shrine that goes up a steep slope about 30 minutes from Hankyu Okamoto Station. I went to GW, but the view of Kobe was good and the fresh green was pleasant. There are remains of megaliths, and there is a little atmosphere.

I visit it every weekend. This year, I visited the shrine on January 2nd for New Year's visit. I felt refreshed and filled with good energy. I received a banknote and a stamp. Unlike shrines in the city, there is no hustle and bustle and you can visit in peace. The air also feels delicious. In addition to praying at the shrine, we have chanted Katakamuna 5, 6, and 7 at Iwaza. just, Unfortunately, there were quite a few people who brought their dogs for a walk inside the shrine grounds. Personally, I don't think it's good.

(Translated by Google) Halfway point to Rock Garden and Mt. Rokko. It's fun to climb only Hokura Shrine. The view of Kobe from in front of the torii is beautiful, and if the weather is good, you can see as far as Wakayama. But the climb is surprisingly tough 💦 (Original)
