I've already left a review for another facet of this shared space, but I don't mind speaking again about this place as it's just worth any word that can be spared. And sitting in juxtaposition to that is the silence that pervades this place. It's not a silence of nature, but a silence of man. We all have a collective agreement to keep our voices low here, to keep our music down, and to even keep our laughter and our excitement subdued. The persistent fishermen who do manage to score in these ponds let their catch go with just as much aplomb as they snatch them out of the water. That's not to say they don't respect their catch, just that they know to keep their excitement checked in this place of serenity. One thing I'd like to speak about is the grounds crew here. The Open spaces department of Boulder county, and the Parks and rec department in general does an amazing job to keep these wild open spaces pristine for us all. They continually maintain paths, clear debris, and keep the restrooms open and flowing for those who need them. Because of their care and maintenance folks of all ages have an easy time accessing these trails, and their persistent presence on the grounds keeps anyone from being disrespectful or setting up shop in a vagabond sort of way. If you're looking for a place of serenity and you just want to sit and think about life, have a quiet moment and observe the different birds around you this is definitely one of the best places you can come in Boulder County. And when you consider the natural splendor that is all around us here that is saying something.

Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat is just lovely. I was able to visit several days over the first week of June and it did not disappoint. There are plenty of benches around all the lakes and two really nice boardwalks. I came to watch birds and there were was such a large variety to see! Everything from Bald Eagles and Ospreys to American Goldfinches, Warbling Vireos, and Western Wood-Pewees (just to name a few). There were many others and some turtles, too! I recommend bug spray if you plan on being out for awhile, as there were mosquitos about. I can't wait to get back!

Walden Ponds is one of our very favorite spots and we feel fortunate that we live nearby. It's a great place for kids and families. Leashed dogs are allowed, except for on the board walk (the long bridge that takes you across part of the wetland). The senior access pond is a nice spot for kids to go fishing with their grandparents. My daughter enjoys fishing there with her grandpa. There is an easy to access bathroom, a dock and a covered picnic area. Multiple handicap parking spots, too. As you drive in, you'll see the senior access pond first before you get to main access parking area. We feel like we always discover something great when we go to Walden Ponds! We see wildlife and enjoy being out in nature. There are often bird watchers (and some are friendly enough to let you take a look through their scope). I would definitely recommend bringing binoculars (besides the essentials of water, snacks, etc). In the summer, bug spray is recommended because mosquitos are out even during the day. Biking is also possible, we like take our bikes around the whole trail which is a nice loop around. We definitely visit here year-round. Each season at Walden Ponds is beautiful!

Both these and Saw Hill Ponds are adjacent to each can be accessed from same trail system. Nice flat trail, there are a walkway on part of marshland which is peaceful and good fall walking also. This fall water levels were very low so smells a bit but still a good walking area, a lot of dogs walking also.

Always great views, accessible for people who use walkers, wheelchairs. Free fishing for elderly and people with disabilities. Benches dispersed around pond. Great place to see Herons, Geese, Cormorants. Picnic table and bathrooms. Below photo are Pelicans on pond.

Great park, lots of nature even in broad daylight. Trails are flat and gravel, making the walk pleasant and easy. The view from the park is lovely as well.

My beloved sister's memorial bench overlooks a pond and mountain view. We're happy to have a place to visit her. Many of these benches provide respite as you stroll around this natural area. Best in the mornings. Lots of amazing birdwatching too.

Beautiful area. Checked it out for Boulder County Nature Detectives. The one pond is only for seniors and kids. Good parking and bathrooms.

An easy set of trails situated around old gravel ponds - a favorite for local birders and hikers with several benches and picnic areas. Can be muddy during early spring.

It's a bit out of the way, but I've always enjoyed visiting here. There's nice trails with some shade, but it's pretty sunny. Remember to bring sunscreen and bug spray, you'll probably want both. I saw some pelicans, red wing blackbirds and a goldfinch. Always a nice place to walk around and spot some birdies.

Beautiful place, specially for bird watchers. Be aware of the mosquitoes and cold weather.

Cool little fishing spot. Once we get these ponds figured out the fishing here will be more enjoyable. It also be better if the public would stop letting their dogs get in the water while you're trying to fish. Ugh makes it so frustrating when people think that it's okay for their dogs to just jump in the water while you're fishing.
