Nizamabad Mini Museum

Tourist attraction Museum

👍👍 This small museum hosts an indoor and outdoor collection of Buddhist, Hindu, Jain and Islamic artwork. Of these, the collection of Digambar Jain temple parts and ruins is most interesting.

The District Archaeological museum in Nizamabad was established in Nizamabad’s Tilak Garden, which was originally constructed in 1936 by VIIth Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan. The District Archaeological Museum was officially opened to the public in October, 2001. It exhibits a wide variety of artefacts and antiquities that represents the evolution of human civilization right from Paleolithic era to Vijayanagara times (16th Century A.D.). But it's closed for Renovation since last five years.

Lot of changes and few developments seen in recent times. As a result, there is tremendous increase noticed among the visitors. But there is no good canteen though. In children's play area, I haven't seen the service of train is available for kids. Need to start it to add more interest especially among kids.

This is the only museum in nizamabad. Here one can see the culture of kakatiyas and nizams dynasties. Very good for students and historians. This place is situated right in the center of Tilak garden. People can visit this place, learn something and get relaxed at the same time. One can watch deers too. Nice park though.

Nizamabad Fort is situated on the southwest of the city which was built by Rashtrakuta Kings in around the 10th century, the fort was captured by Asaf Jahis who were the Nizams of Hyderabad, who then rebuilt the fort.[48][49] Archaeological and Heritage Museum was opened in October 2001 and is situated in the Tilak Garden premises which is opened seasonally. The Museum houses various artifacts and antiquities representing the evolution of human civilization from Paleolithic to Vijayanagara Empire(i.e. 16th. A.D). The Museum is divided into three sections, namely Archaeological Section, Sculptural gallery and Bronze and Decorative gallery. Bidri articles and arms and weapons of extensive variety are also exhibited.[12] Alisagar is a park and tourist attraction which is 13 km from Nizamabad and 2 km (1.2 mi) off the Nizamabad-Bodhan road.[50] The garden is spread across a large 33 acres of area, it has a deer park, trekking and water sports facility. It also has a hilltop guest house built by Nizam and is under renovation as of 2015. Ashok Sagar is a lake, park and tourist attraction situated in Jankampet area, 07 km from centre of the city. It has a beautiful rock garden with illuminated rocks and has excellent boating facilities.[51]Badapahad dargah is one of the oldest Muslim pilgrim centres, built in the memory of Hazrat Syed Hussaini, built on top of a hillock, located at a distance of 38 km from the city.

It is not like a traditional fort, where you will find weapons, ancient architecture ( though it is old) It has a temple area and on the side ways it used to have jail ( read some where online that it used to hold prisoners, facts needs to be check).
