If I could give zero stars I would. There seems to be nobody enforcing the rules at this place. We experienced some hostility from other guest as we are people of colour. Restless nights due to some rowdy campers and this carried on until early hours of the morning as well. Dogs without leashes would interfere with our dogs. All in all it was absolute chaos. We ended up leaving a day early.

The setting is really great, being off the main roads, outside of town and on the banks of a huge fishing dam. Probably the best place to stay near Reitz. The chalets are quite basic though and could do with bit of a refresh.

Very clean terrain, fantastic for water-sports and taking the dogs for a walk. Each stand comes with a clean braai end loads of shade for the warm days.

This is a small piece of heaven on earth. Loved our stay and the best kamp experience in a long time, unfortunately we had uncontrolled weather but still loved our stay at bass feather. A big thanks to Lizzy whom made us feel the most welcome even if didnt even meet her.

Perfect for a quick winter weekend getaway. Chalet's 7 and 8 are close to the water.

Lovely camp sites on green grass and Dam view. They van get a extra ablution block for camp sites from 12 and up....or just toilets. Good idea to lock the ablution block and give the keys for the campers.

A hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. Really appreciated the owners who personally came to visit us when we parked our caravan in (the same) spot for the second time in 3 years. It's overall just really pretty, clean, peacefull and has everything to offer we needed. We did hear lions in the evening and saw some mongoose, lots of birds and cats, and our children loved it. I can fully recommend this campsite.

Very nice place hidden away in a small town of Reitz in the Free State. Beautiful natural landscape with a chance to see some ostriches including some rare birds. Accommodation is affordable ,got a nice reception from security guards at the gate.

After 30 years of travelling extensively I can confidently say this is the worst accommodation i have every stayed in. The units are in a state of disrepair and inadequately stocked. The electrical work in our unit was dangerous to say the least. Staff seemed to have the run of the show, with parties going on into the early hours of the morning. We tried to contact the relevant security staff to resolve the issue of loud music, drunken patrons stumbling through the resort and fighting 50 meters from our accommodation only to discover that these staff members were themselves intoxicated. Numerous attempts to contact the owners of the resort at this time were ignored and my calls cut. The amenities are in a state of disrepair. The playground even had the body of a dead cat decaying in the flower garden. Numerous feral cats roam the resort. One can only hope they have had the relevant inoculations! If you are looking poor service and degraded accommodation and sleepless nights this is the place for you!

Has potential to be at least a 4 star. 2 star today because several dead fish on the banks aren't cleaned up. The rain has risen the dam about 25m so the banks have hidden grass under water that snags hooklinks . You will find peaceful days filled with birds and odd sounds from fishermen and thats if the day visitors are not noisy. Not many people when we visited but could become busy. Beautiful part of the country. Arrive with all your essentials, not advisable to drive to Reitz. The small...small shop at lodge is sparse. Also access to the lodge itself is through a township via very bad roads that were tarred at one time so expect potholes, cracks and rubish with slow 5-10kmh for about 3km. Don't use road from Warden...the potholes will swallow cows...39km of this. The road from Frankford to Reitz is not bad...odd pot holes with new tarred sections. Has a pool, can walk, children should be safe, view game wonder in neighbouring property, fishing ...small fish...potential for larger. The placing of chalets and camping are oddly placed. The camping ablution is far from the sites. I will visit again...but let the magic happen on the roads, the shop, extra water entertainment like other campsites have introduced-at pool, visible security etc. Taking your lines out via baitboat is advisable. Dam is large and long.
