What a cool bar. As a dive bar aficionado, I must say that this is one in a million. All music played is from a large collection of cd’s. Buy one drink, get two songs. If you’re into alt rock or metal you need to check this place out. Seating is limited, and that’s a part of what makes it so great. BIG LOVE this place. Super tiny little bar right in the middle of Kabuchiko’s red light madness. Dark rock bar with cool decor and lighting. For each drink, you get to pick two song requests from the CDs.

Proper decent little rock bar, the lady behind the bar was an absolute legend and had a huge selection of CDs you can choose from to get played and she cranks it right up 😂🤟🤟. you gotta check this place out if you're in Shinjuku at night.

This is the rock bar with the largest volume in Tokyo. I've been to other places such as Godz, PSY, Lands Rock...etc but this place has the heaviest noise of all. If you want to go heavy, Mother is the place to be. The place has no charge and drinks will cost you JPY 700+ with no charges. You can order 2 songs for 1 drink.

So much fun! Owner is great - 1 drink = 1 song request and the list is huge, come with a group of friends (bring cash) and have the night of your life xo

This place is awesome. Located in a basement bar in Shinjuku, there about 10-12 seats and gets pretty busy by 10pm. They play rock/metal at very loud volume, and you get to request songs from a large CD collection when you order drinks. Beer 700-800, mixed drinks 900-1200. Bartender is a cool dude and a couple of locals headbanging.

Absolutely immaculate vibes. Free song requests with drink purchase; selection suitable for metalheads and rock fans. Bartender has a metric f*** ton of CDs to choose from!

Easily the coolest bar for any metal head! Its also foreigner friendly with good drinks and the best service available! When you get a drink, you can pick from a list of bands on a menu and you get a stack of cds to choose songs to play. 100/10 recommend

The owner kindly asked what artists I listen to, and he brought CDs and asked which one to play. (The menu even has a massive list of bands and musicians!!) How cool!! Glad I could listen to Manic Street Preachers and XTC on the first night of my stay in Japan. 👍👍👍

This place is a hidden gem! We ended up staying till about half 6 in the morning, it's a small place downstairs and the bar man is awesome. You can pick your own music from a collection of CDs. I highly recommend this place!

Best metal bar in Tokyo. Actually rock and metal bars in Tokyo are kind of rare, but this one is a gem Perfect underground and dark ambience and they have a music menu from which you can choose your artists and songs Great collection and great sound system

amazing atmosphere. bartender was awesome and super friendly. 2 song requests per drink with hundreds of artists to choose from. best bar we’ve been to in Tokyo hands down.

This is one of the first bars I went to the night I arrived in Tokyo and one of my favorites overall. The owner is an amazing person & the soundtrack couldn’t have been better. Hails to Mother! 🤟

If you’re looking for a good dive bar, this is the best I’ve found in Shinjuku. If you’re looking for a good rock bar, this is the best I've found in Shinjuku. Everything is played off CD. The song selection is great. The bartender serves drinks and DJs. It’s dark, dank, and loud. It’s perfect.

You pay for a drink, you pick the playlist, and by that I mean that you pick your favorite rock CD. Simply amazing! The best atmosphere I have ever found in a bar

Brilliant bar with a wide music book. Choose from Stevie Wonder to Sepultura and you'll be presented with the cd to choose your track. Open until 5am

Had an amazing time last night. Great music selection, super friendly and helpful bar tender and was amazing chatting to some locals about music. Would definitely go back and recommend to others if they love rock and metal music. Rated food a 3 as think they only have snacks and I didn’t have any but everything else perfect.
