I have grown up with cats and I could tell that the cats were stressed out, unhappy, and over simulated. They were made to wear costumes and forced to be out in noisy areas with too many people, which further increased the stress of those poor kitties. My friends and I were in the cafe for only a few minutes and were charged WAY too much! Not worth the price to sit around watching cats be miserable.

Once an incident occurs, a company's constitution cannot be trusted, so no matter what the individual staff members do, they will not proceed.

so cute! we got there right at opening time so we didn’t have to wait, and we got to see the cats get fed at 10:30. they don’t let many people in at once to it’s not very loud, which is nice. all the cats were very pretty and even though they weren’t super outgoing it was nice to see them play amongst themselves

Pretty cute place to visit. It's worth the minimum ¥550 for 10 mins per person because the drinks are tasty as well. It's also CLEAN, as someone is constantly cleaning up after the cats, and this includes collecting the cat hair. As we were leaving, people were standing in front of our lockers as it's a pretty tight setup going in so we were one (1!!!) minute late getting out to which we were going to be charged another block of time (10 min increments is charged). I complained and luckily she changed it or else I would have been so disappointed in this place. They are very strict on time, but they understood other customers prevented us from leaving on time.

¥350 cover charge + ¥200/10 mins, excluding tax. Staff are quite unfriendly. Their cats are very realistic- they only play with you if you pay ¥500 for treats- if they they’re just snoozing the whole time. Paid ~ ¥1050++ for 30 minutes. The time includes the time it takes for you to change shoes, put your bag in the locker, wash hands, take your bag from the locker, lock the locker, AND return the key. You’re not allowed to carry the cats as well- but the staff are. We had to walk ourselves into the play area too- no explanation- no guidance. Just what we cannot do when we play with the cats. The cats are adorable, and extremely gorgeous. It’s not the cats’ fault. The staff on the other hand, unfriendly. Very off-putting.

Fun experience to relax for an hour in the company of cats in a central location. A large variety of cats that are gorgeous to look at or see run around and play. Facilities are clean and you get drinks included ( Mix of pre-made tea , coffee , soft drinks ) , and you can buy cat treats such as frozen cat food Lollipops. Some were tired and uninterested in playing as other reviewers said, however, if you ever owned a cat you would know that's just how cats are. They move at their own pace and don't care that you paid an entrance fee.

Came to the cafe by chance based on recommendation from a tour guide. You pay by the amount of time you spend there (they will not notify you how long you have been there so set an alarm so you don't overstay based on how much you want to spend because you pay when you leave!). I've only been to one cat cafe and it was in the USA. This cat cafe was CLEAN and did not smell like cats at all which was amazing. It's a great place to take a rest and cool off because there are unlimited drinks from the vending machine while you are there. Free lockers are available for you as no bags may be brought it and you have to swap your shoes for slippers. Staff was friendly to foreigners. Treats are available for extra if you want to entice the cats to be extra friendly. Will definitely visit this place again!

Fun and relaxing experience, even for someone like me who has little experience with cats. Some cats were reserved while others were more open to interactions which is fine - it was nice just watching them get up to their antics. An hour flew by in the blink of an eye! You can also get drinks from the vending machines at no additional cost since they’re included in your fee. Cat treats are also available for purchase.

Small area with many cats. They don't do anything mostly, thus you can pet them easily. Some escape to higher areas to relax. Just enjoy the company, and get a free drink from the vending machine.

10/10 Foreigner friendly. This was my second visit to MOCHA, and the staff were friendly and understood basic English. Cats were a different matter! They live by their own rules, and for me, that was if you don't feed us, we won't let you pat us! Once I understood the cats "Rules of affection" and purchased an iceblock for them. I was made welcome by all :)

It was my first time in cats cafe, probably one time experience. Yes, the cats are cute and well looked after, however I did not get why it is a trendy thing to visit such places.

Buy the food. Cats will ignore you without food. They got these toys you can use to play with them but the cats get bored easily. Cats here are very cute and well maintained. Not all the staff are friendly but I enjoyed my interactions with them.

We tought it would be a good Idea to visit a Cat Coffee when in Japan. Worst experience of the hole Trip. We do love Cats (acutally all animals) and this broke our heart. The Cats behaved very strange, like they are under drugs. They don't want to be pet (which ist fine) but they also don't react If you touch them. Like they are num. Very very strange. The hole place is expensive and uncomfortable. Please do not support it or other places like this one. Just use the Money to Help animals in need.

A lovely place to visit and relax and admire cats of different breeds! Staffs were attentive and helpful. The cafe is very clean and cats were all well maintained. Love that they have hideout spots for cats to go to if they do not wish to be disturbed. Cats are generally not meant to please humans so if you're a cat lover who understands that and just wish to admire the cats and be amongst them then this is a haven for you. If you're looking to cuddles and force animals to perform for you then this is not the right place. For those who wants more interaction there's always the option to purchase a snack for them to come to you! For us, we loved our time there and will definitely be back again!

I went to a cat cafe for the first time, and it was clean and had no unpleasant smells, and it was a quiet and comfortable space. The drink bar was well stocked and the staff were kind.

Love it here. It’s very therapeutic to see the cats running around. We arrived at 10am when it’s open, and feeding time was around 10:30am. Try to get here to see the feeding.

Good little spot to relax after the walk at Meiji. Nice variety of cats and they were well taken care of even though a few of the cats were unreceptive to the grooming, to say the least lol. Cats will be cats. You're able to purchase treats once inside at 500 yen a treat.

Located conveniently at Harajuku, plenty of cats to play with, nice and clean environment. 200Yen for cat food and toys to entertain them. Just beware that you need to time yourself, entry fee is for first 30mins only.

The sats are super happy to be pat. Calm environment. Many different breeds. Went at 13:30 on weekday and was not crowded.

There were so many people around the cat that I didn't touch it at all. I want you to improve that

I went to this cat cafe planning to stay for just 30mins. I ended up staying for nearly 2 hours! Very chill vibe. Calm relaxing music while being around adorable, beautiful cats. Great that they offer unlimited drinks.... all kinds and even a soup selection 😊 You can give treats as long as its from their selection (with a charge). The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Easy to speak to. Enjoyed my stay here!

Drinks are free from vending machines and are located next to lockers, which means there is a terrible crush there. A lot of people jammed into a mini hall trying to get drinks and locker access. Kids are ok to go but staff are very alert to them and insist you stand directly beside them at all times. They will not allow your kids to sit during cat feeding, they must stand to stop cats from leaning or jumping on them. Even older kids like 10 and 11. The cats were happy and had choices to escape humans. Very clean. But while kids are allowed in, I would say they aren't really welcomed. It's meant as more a quiet place to watch the cats.

If you love cats, this is a wonderful cafe to visit! You pay based on the amount of time you spend there and you get all you can drink of hot and cold beverages. You are able to buy treats for the cats which I highly recommend because all of the cats were very cute and deserved all of the treats!

  • 4/5 Alma G. 11 months ago on Google
I was able to pet several cats. You can buy food to feed them. They offer some free vending machine type of beverages for you to drink while you're there. You pay by the 1/2 hour or minutes, and you can't pick up the cats.

  • 5/5 Lindsay H. 1 year ago on Google
The staff were very helpful with getting the treats for the cats and explaining everything upon entering. Don’t even get me started on how cute and sweet all the cats are. So many of them are very gentle when eating out of your hand and receptive to pets 🥰 if you’re looking to go to a cat cafe to relax, I definitely recommend this place.

Fun! A relaxing place that is decorated nicely, with unlimited free drinks and toys play with the cats with. The cats are cute, and the stationary ones don't mind if you pet them. Many of the cats are in hard to reach places, though, and some cats are shy and run away if you try to pet them.

  • 1/5 Dominic W. 1 year ago on Google
The staff were rude, not much to do as the staff does not let us play with the cats as much. No toys or treats included. Other cat cafes gave you some treats so the cats would come to you and play. There was a hat for the cats that I put on a cat, which the staff then took away from me. We left the cat area before the 30 minute mark, to avoid extra charges. But they still charged us for the extra 10 minutes even though we were putting our shoes on and went 1 minute overtime by doing so. To add, the area was very busy and the walkway was narrow, so we couldn’t go any faster.

I love this cat cafe, although I wish there were more cats. It is a busy place and I felt there should’ve been more cats. But nevertheless, the cats are extremely friendly, unlimited drinks, and fun fun space with a good view of Harajuku station and the neighbourhood!

First visit to a cat cafe. The cats were responsive to ice lollies. You can stroke their furs. Charges are per 30mins. Lockers are provided. Free coffee/tea/drinks available from vending machine

Great location with great view facing the harajuku station. The cats are not super interactive but it is still nice to enjoy the cozy environment. There is also a manga wall inside so you can do a lot of reading there with 220yen every 10mins. :-)

A unique experience, good if you haven't done anything like this before. You pay a base-price that you chose, eg: 10-20 minutes or 20-30 minutes and then you pay in ten minute increments for any time over your base-price. You can have bottomless drinks from a vending machine for the duration of your visit

My first and last time at a ‘cat cafe’. I foolishly thought I’d be sitting at a table ordering a drink with cats milling around in the background coming up for human interaction at their will and leisure. It’s an expensive time booked in 20 and 10 minute blocks (something like that) to look at some cats that seem totally bored with being patted, poked and prodded ad Infinitum. Add extra for the privilege of feeding them a few treats. The animals do look well groomed and cared for but I didn’t enjoy the experience at all.

An usual and oasis-like cafe full of pampered cats. It is rather expensive to enter. Entrance includes a hot or cold drink. Costs are in 10 mins chunks inside the cafe, 1 min extra over the 10 min increases costs. There are rules about handling the cats. Shoes, bags, etc must be stored in complimentary lockers. Very relaxing in the cat area.

It's fun - if you like cats. The cats are good-natured, playful and comfortable with strangers. Lots of fluffy lols to be had here.

  • 4/5 Ger Z. 3 years ago on Google
Adorable little cafe with "free" drinks once you pay the cover charge to go in the cafe. There are LOTS of cats that will ignore you unless it's feeding time but cats will be cats! Worth going to once while you're in Tokyo for 20 minutes for the sleepy cats.

The staff's customer service is wonderful! She was very kind, explaining how to interact with cats and giving me all kinds of information. The windows are large and it feels open and comfortable. I would like to go again because it is hygienic and you can relax without worrying.
