Please please don't waste your time visiting this place. There are far far better places in India where you would find true balancing rocks. This one is not attached at a point rather on a larger surface. Lastly, they charge ₹10 per person for maintenance. They have zero maintenance. waste of time time, effort and money.

Honestly, A time waste! Nothing felt so special about this. Just a rock which is placed over some structure which is natural! Went there since it was on the way of Mawlynnong village and left in 5 mins. Just clicked a few pics for the sake of it. What you see on the image is exactly what you see there. Hence going there didn’t add any value to the experience. Entry fee : 20 INR per person

On the way to mawlynlong village you can find this place. It will be on the left side of the road and there is a entry fee. You can see there is a huge rock is balancing over a small piece of stone. It’s amazing. Nature at its best.

Good view of Science and history. The Rock beautifully stand still for many years, when I had a word with the people nearby it doesn't even move during any earthquake or such.

This place is a scam. Takes 10 rupees for a natural miracle, but I dont know why they charge this money. The uncle on the counter will not tell you anything about its history. Who kept it? When was this discovered? Nothing. He will just say, it is natural.

Also called Maw Ryngkew Sharatia It is a huge boulder resting on a smaller rock. The place is surrounded by bamboo plantations and is very serene. A couple of pics here may be worth the entry ticket.

The Balancing Rock of Mawlynnong is near the village of Mawlynnong in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. It is known as Maw Ryngkew Sharatia and is a tourist attraction. balancing rock, also called a balanced rock or precarious boulder, is a naturally occurring geological formation featuring a large rock or boulder, sometimes of substantial size, resting on other rocks, bedrock, or on glacial till. Some formations known by this name only appear to be balancing, but are in fact firmly connected to a base rock by a pedestal or stem. No single scientific definition of the term exists, and it has been applied to a variety of rock features that fall into one of four general categories:

It's literally what you see in the picture. A flat rock balanced on a smaller one. Not a great tourist spot.

The Balancing Rock is ok and one time good to visit, but the weird fencing around / below the rock is something that makes it ugly...... Fencing can be around the ROCK to protect but the present one makes it ugly

Asia's cleanest village with a view of the India Bangladesh border. The whole place is like a big garden dotted with homestays. If you are hard-pressed for time you can give it a miss.

Just ok. No trek no beautiful trails. Its just a big rock balanced on a small tip but it is on the way to mawlynnong and can be quickly visited in few minutes. Not worth more than 15mins. Entry fee while writing the review is 10/person.

What a beautiful gift of nature that a bigger rock is in this place in a such balanced way ...it seems somebody has kept it in that place in ancient time and not moving a single inch ....wow really eye catching view.
