Was and is still is One of the great beaches in the western cap. Its massive. Dogs love it. Duck for kids. And when itโ€™s not windy so great for just lying and chilling. Some of the greatest surf spots in the world too.

It's a wonderful piece of nature in an urban area and close to a number of BnBs. Check out the walkways down to the beach and makes for great photoshoots and sunset views. Remember that it can be pretty windy - even at the best of times and parking can be limited during popular times. There is a public toilet on site.

This long beach is absolutely stunning seen when driving south on Chapman Peak Drive! The sand is pearly white and the water deepening shades of turquoise, and I couldnโ€™t wait to visit the beach. It was odd when I did, because we had to walk through wide shallow water spoiled by horse poo, then across a long distance of deep sand before reaching the shore. By the time we got out to the water, the sun was about to set and we had to turn around and make our way through the sand and mucky mud to the parking lot.

Amazing amazing amazing. I think I've found my home away from home. Idk why but the water temperature is just perfect, it's cold but in a good way if that makes sense and this coming from someone who hates the cold. Water definitely not for swimming but you can't resist getting in. Not too busy and even if it is the beach is huge so ample space for everyone. Lots of doggos running off leash and all of the doggies I met were friendly and came to say hi on their own, I don't mind the doggos but those who do might find it a bit annoying. All in all this beach is wonderful. Saw some horses as well (accompanied by humans of course). Car guard very friendly. Didn't get any pictures of the beach itself really but as you can see it is quite spacious. Oh and I need to add that it is quite a walk from the parking to the beach it self but definitely worth it.

I have the profound privilege of walking here just about every day, I meditate & do qi gong. My children grew up playing in this lagoon & on these dunes. This is sacred ground. Pay attention & you will be healed.

Beautiful stretch of beach, quite the walk to get to the shoreline. A bit hidden away in between the houses. But great to have a picnic and watch the sunset. People around there are so friendly. You can bring your doggie for a walk too.

It gives the feeling of walking on the Kalahari desert because the beach and land are spread far apart from each other, not recommended to walk alone because it isn't the safest nor a place to swim, only a great walking experience.

Scenic drive to beach. Good parking, a long wide beach, with rocks on the right and a looming mountain behind.

Nice long quiet beach for walking or running along. Toilets available. Dont use the dog path to the beach if you dont have a dog as you will be smelling their landmines that some owners dont pick up.

๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒŠ Confer to tag: Long Beach outside Cape Town. Close to Noordhoek and Chapmanยดs Peak Drive, a natural beach, enjoying the breaking waves and the dunes. I was there on a misty day, although I enjoyed it very well but unfortunately I forgot to switch off the lights of my rental car. Luckily I meet some nice guys who gave me jump start.

Absolutely exquisite venue. The beach is always magnificent, and the water often looks like something out of an overseas holiday brochure. Fantastic place to walk or bring the dogs for a run. You will often come across horse riding groups, and sometimes photoshoots

Oh my word is this not thee most loveliest beach I've ever been too, in the hole of the beautiful city of Cape Town its such a smooth calm nature sound of beach and the best place to swim tan and enjoy its such a beautiful beach to be at I had such awesome time being there for the first time ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

  • 4/5 Shanette M. 2 years ago on Google
The car park is very far from the water's edge at low tide, so if you're carrying umbrellas, cooler bags etc cab be quite a trek. However its a beautiful stretch of white sand, perfect for walks or runs...dogs and horses too. Not ideal for swimming, since there are no life guards and alot of cross currents and ridges where you can suddenly find yourself in deep water.

White sand that goes on for miles blue sea but beware its chilly! Can be windy but great for a walk or run along the beach. Just be sensible about when you run I.e.when others are also about.

  • 5/5 Ockert 2 years ago on Google
One of the most beautiful beaches in Cape Town. The long sand stretch is ideal for horse riding and people taking their dogs for walks. It is never over crowded.

It's ok, nice views, as can be expected from any cape town beach. Clean sands, clean in general, great to catch a surf or tan with beautiful sunsets. The only down sides are limited parking and no toilets

  • 4/5 Shubha B. 2 years ago on Google
Went with my hiking group ( meridian). We had a beautiful 1 hour easy walk on the sandy beach. You get to see a shipwreck that's older than a 100 yrs old. During sundown there were people silent dancing while we were having a picnic. Very popular and a live beach. There is a lot of seaweeds on the beach which attracts a lot of flies, thus not a comfortable beach to have a picnic.

Very good location ,poor service ,no music outside, needs attention , food was tasty but not properly cooked through &; True Poor entrance downstairs not well sign posted ,could attract a lot of bikers ,lack of adequate supervision is obvious "A ship without a rudder. Often lands on the Rocks"

Great, much more quiet beach. You can enjoy yourself with family and friends. Only downside is the occasional dead seal that don't get cleaned quick enough. The sea is warmer there and you can get a good swim.

  • 5/5 Mayuri R. 5 months ago on Google
Beautiful beach, the most beautiful I've been to in capetown... make sure to go in groups, don't go alone as the walk from the car park to the beach is far, the best time to go is a clear day when many people are visiting the beach... it's a far walk, but it's unforgettable.

  • 4/5 Bathabile S. 3 years ago on Google
For a less crowed and more natural beach... Beautiful views and long sandy beach. Dogs love it here. There are change rooms/toilets but not looked after as such. A tap is available for drinkable water for the dogs and washing sand off.

Hiking to the wreck of Kakapo was awesome... The water ๐Ÿ’ฆ was a beautiful azure blue like what one sees on movies... Lovely white sandy beaches... Horse ๐Ÿด riding taking place and nice waves ๐ŸŒŠ the ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ surfers catching ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿฝ ๐ŸŒŠ.... The wreck is also nice reminder of the Cape of storms...

  • 5/5 Ryan P. 3 years ago on Google
Beautiful beach! white sand, blue water, just beware the water is icy cold and when the wind blows it feels like you're stuck in a sand storm. If you take a walk down the beach left from the parking lot, you'll find an old shipwreck buried in the sand! Great beach to watch the sunset from.

This has been one of the most beautiful beaches in South Africa ever since I can remember. It used to be a very secluded beach 20 years ago, but nowadays I notice more people walking their dogs.

  • 4/5 mogammed f. 3 years ago on Google
Lovely views, long stretch of white sand to enjoy. Probably would not recommend swimming here since the swells are quite large and rough. Very nice for an afternoon walk. Safety is a concern so I would also recommend walking in large groups rather than 2-3 people.
