😠 I recommend finding somewhere else to stay if you have a choice. $85 per night is a complete rip off based on the quality of the rooms, facilities, and amenities. The local per diem rate is $94 per night and you can easily find a hotel that has better, cleaner rooms, great amenities, free breakfast,... People often mention room, rooms, stay, desk,

I recommend finding somewhere else to stay if you have a choice. $85 per night is a complete rip off based on the quality of the rooms, facilities, and amenities. The local per diem rate is $94 per night and you can easily find a hotel that has better, cleaner rooms, great amenities, free breakfast, access to local restaurants and things to do, internet that works, and HEAT that works. 59 degrees in my room....seriously? What a terrible experience all around.

Wifi is terrible. It's spotty at best. So, it made taking remote classes and other obligations impossible. Phone reception is terrible in the building too. The rooms are old and dated. The thermostat looks like one of those old mercury having ones. It makes a loud hissing noise and you can't control it. There's just an ON and OFF switch but makes no difference in the room temperature. So, I'm freezing. The room wasn't cleaned properly. I walked into the bathroom and found hair and a used shampoo bottle. The water would randomly come out yellow. There's also a mildewy smell all over. Also, the whole place is trying to go cashless but they still have cash/coin only vending machines. So you're out of luck if you need laundry detergent or want to buy a drink. Their drink vending credit card machines don't totally work. Finally, the door took some effort to open and lock. Makes me take back all my USAF lodging critiques. EDIT: I accidentally left some VERY sensitive PII documents in the room I stayed at and have been trying to contact them for over a week now. Four times I've called and been told the manager is who would have hold of such sensitive found items. Despite numerous attempts and voicemails to reach Joyce T. no one has called me back. This place is definitely lacking.

Bottom of the list for Navy Gateway Inn and Suites for me. The entire main building is a cellphone dead zone and even the power went out several times. Wifi provided was weak and intermittent. My toilet barely worked and when I called, the lady literally told me they had no other rooms to offer. The only positive for this place was thr staff. They are friendly and courteous even if they couldn't be helpful in solving problems.

You cannot control the temperature in the room so you will sweat most nights when the boiler is on for winter season. I often try to cool the room down by opening the door and window. The road noise is unbearable at times and they use Gilbert street as a drag strip on occasions. The staff are mostly great. They do a good job in the rooms and most seem to enjoy their jobs. The sheets and pillow cases were mostly stained with bodily fluids so I purchased some at the exchange. You will have extremely poor wifi and extremely spotty cell service.

**Edit** I would change this to one star if I could. The hot water came out of my tap brown/yellow. The pictures I have are in the more yellow stage, it was puddle/sewer brown for several seconds when I was washing my hands. I felt filthy, yet was thankful I wasn't in the shower. I called the front desk, they didn't know what was going on, and they didn't even pretend to investigate. I am slightly worried that I'll end up getting sick. The redeeming features: the bed is comfortable and it has a microwave, fridge, and keurig machine. My biggest complaint is the lack of temperature control. It was 83 degrees outside, and after suffering through a quick unpack, going outside felt cool. When you turned on the HVAC, HOT air came out. I called the front desk and they gave me some canned response about how the rooms are centrally controlled... by whom?!? Don’t come here during the seasonal transition months. Apparently some bigwig out of the area with tight purse strings controls the heat/air. And really, don’t come here if you have any choice. Even if you explicitly state you want the wall manor location, they might still send you to another location, which could be very far away. If you taxi here, keep them at the front door until you verify your room location. Lastly, the rooms have external hallways, which means unless you have the privacy shades drawn, people can see into your room. (So you have to choose between privacy and fresh air!)

No A/C since I arrived here for a transition det. NEVER! NEVER!NEVER! Get any mail sent to the NGIS! You’ll be chasing a paper route trying to find your package or letter. I had my license and a deposit check sent to me from California. The front desk had it returned to sender. Get a PO BOX.

Staff is nice and friendly. Rooms are updated (minus the 90's carpet) and the bathrooms are relatively clean. The reason for the 2 stars is the terrible internet. It's 2021...3 mbps can not even run Netflix. When you are stuck here for longer than 2 days, this can be incredibly frustrating.

The one star is for customer service. The rest of my visit was an absolute wreck. From rooms with no AC to roaches running everywhere, and I'm not talking about palmetto bugs! Our room keys didn't work several times to he first night and then not at all the next. We just got so tired of it and left-stayed off base. Smh

The customer service here is terrible. They know sailors have to stay here and it shows.

Great clean facility. Friendly staff. This is on base obviously so basic amenities. Vending machine room for drinks and snacks, free laundry machine but need to buy own soap, and they have a business room with cac enabled computers to do work on. Great place. Walking distance from the mini Nex and gym.

Front desk and Housekeeping staff are very accommodating. But this place is by far the worst Gateway Inn. First room had no AC just like 80% of the rooms (according to the housekeepers). Moved to another room with AC but with bug problems since it’s on ground level.

Rooms are stuffy, A/C frequently goes out. Fan that was supplied barley moved the air. One ice machine for the whole place and ots in the lobby. Condition of the building and elevators are poor at best. The place is a huge collection of safety violations! Would recommend finding a way to stay out in town! The photos are of some of the exposed areas around the entrance and the stair well I had to use to get to the parking lot because power had went out the night before at midnight and still hadn't been restored by 7am the morning I left.

room was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff were courteous and helpful. I think the inn should consider cleaning rooms more often. mine only got cleaned twice during my 1 week stay.

Absolutely horrific. I have never gotten warts before but walking barefoot on these floors is disgusting. Room service is lazy, they rarely wash towls and blankets. I found that instead they fold a used dirty towl. And the cherry ontop A/C does not work. Dont stay here.

If I could give 0 stars I definitely would. The AC was broken and it was 70+ outside. We sat in our car at midnight just to cool down. Called the front desk and was told they would put in a trouble ticket… which I assume just went into a queue with lots of other trouble tickets. Not impressed.

You can't connect your device to the TV, because you are not allowed. Room was extremely hot. Glad I didn't have to stay long. Would give no star if I could.

No heat in room but there is a space heater in the closet. Lumpy bed. Only saving grace is it’s on base so you don’t have to drive. Worst Gateway Inn I’ve stayed at in my career.
