We recently visited the USO Illinois Great Lakes Center to watch or son graduate boot camp and they really put on a graduation ceremony! The young men and women who were graduating, and all of the dedicated officers, all put a lot of hard work and energy into such! It was an honor and we are now proud parents of a Sailor, Noah Bowers! Congratulations to all the Sailors and thank you for your service! ❤️🤍💙

Nice clean place everything went according to plan, didn’t have any trouble finding the place or getting a parking spot, the whole ceremony went nice and smooth.

They were great and made all the families feel very welcome. I think I can speak for most everyone there how great it was. Also to find out what to do at Naval graduation and to pick up your new sailor from boot camp every morning. Also where to be at the airport to meet them when they fly out. Great to also meet other families.

I went for Navy boot camp graduation and it was awesome. A lot of people were there too and it was an unforgettable experience. It was just sheer joy and emotional moments as new recruits reunited with their families after their tough boot camp training. Once in a lifetime.

These people really know how to treat their own. I don't know who the owner is but if you're reading this, you're doing a great job. You make the sailors (and their dependants!) Feel so welcomed! It's an amazing experience to get treated so nicely in a military related facility, can't even begin to express the gratitude.

The center is really nice, renovations made in recent years. ■Parking can be an issue, not many spots and no real parking lot. ■Snacks, drinks, hygiene kits, water, hot beverages. They have meal events every so often. ■Plenty of space for recreation and relaxation. Table space to do some work, play board games, etc. ■Only problem- theor hours. Whenever I'm on post it's early morning and the USO opens after 1200.

Found this place on craigslist, just a random search. Stumbled upon a forklift cage that our business needed. I messaged and got directions. The transaction was great. The owner was there, he is a really good guy. I definitely will be doing some more business with them in the near future.

Caters to, as its title implies, US NAVY personnel, but also Veterans and their dependants. Has first rate hospital and pharmacy services. Military Post so security is paramount.

It's a bit confusing trying to get there at first, but it's a nice small environment to be around right before your heading into bootcamp. You get to meet and talk to several different people before those 2 nerve racking months ahead of you.

Attended the Naval Graduation. It was such a special moment. But I was so confused & had to find detail about the ceremony all on my own. After talking to other parents... and samething. Navy really needs to do a better job with the communication for sure.

This is where I was born as was my daughter my husband was stationed here when we met at St Therese where I was working we've been together for 49 years my husband retired in 91 as a chief Hospital corpsman I retired as I had worked for 35 years as an LPN. I continue to shop at the commissary there I'm not too happy with the exchange changes they're trying to make it like a Macy's I don't know how the recruits can afford to shop there because I can't it's very expensive

Actually I haven't been there in years. But I know that many of the service men and women who are active find it a life saver and helps the stress of being new to the area very helpful. I must say I am a proud veteran to be familiar with the navy's facilities. Even though I was in the Army. The ones who are passing through can call the USO home to find a home, for their selves and or significant others .

  • 5/5 W. Dale M. 1 year ago on Google
Having been in the military during Vietnam and closely associated with it for more than 50 years now, the USO has always been important to me. It is especially important when I needed to know "I have a safe place to relax". This is that place - a safe place for the men and women that serve.

  • 5/5 Vlad S. 2 years ago on Google
That place is awesome! I like pool tables and equipment for pool. It looks good and fresh enough. First day when I came in I spent almost 5 hours to play pool. But! I don't recommend you to go there, because I don't like crowded places 😁

It's not open yet after the renovations. However, be prepared to be amazed. The wifi is top notch, the entire space is sleak and modern, and it has many incredible spaces for gaming, computers, reading, lounging, and more. Should have taken more pictures tbh. Enjoy if you get the chance.

The greatest base in the world. It goes from transforming a normal average person into a fit fleet ready sailor, i am grateful to have been on this base and experienced it firsthand and i have to recommend anybody interested in joining the military to go and join the world's best naval force and become a sailor walking in those dress whites. Hooyah Navy, thank you for the opportunities!

Attended this facility in November of 1971. It was a lot of cold weather to a southern lad from NC.Don't recall a lot about the experience other than meeting a lot of good people from across the USA.Coldest place I have ever been in my life. Left GL and was stationed aboard the USS Orion( AS-18, which was a sub tender stationed in Charleston S.C.

They are courteous to everyone that enters. My hubby has been going there for years. Nothing but great things to say about this Hospital.

  • 5/5 Debbie B. 10 months ago on Google
My Vietnam veteran hubby goes to this facility to see his Drs. He has been in the Emergency room a few times, he has had one procedure done here. Every time we go here, the care he receives is amazing. The younger (future veterans) always Thank Him for his service. The Drs, Nurses and other employees are so kind. When we get there, we might have to wait a bit, but that's because they treat so many Vets. It's also amazing to see all the different hats and shirts and jackets from the Army, Navy, Air Force, etc. We've seen WWII Vets, that is an amazing feeling. I've heard that some people have bad things to say about other Veteran Hospitals, but not Lovell. Such a great place!
