We attended Orange Tree on Friday 2nd June for a friend's 40th birthday. The staff were very friendly and quick with our orders. We had a tribute to Michael Jackson that evening which was a great giggle. The food was good I had fish chips and peas with a kinder Bueno sundae for dessert which went down quite well with a couple of Kopperberg summer berries 😁

A great night on Saturday with really well cooked food. Tasty well presented and very friendly staff. Even produced a bill for drinks only. Being lawful this was pointed out and was a pleasure to pay. All 12 of us were exceptionally happy.

Decor not really to my taste. Pretty much the same as when I visited in 1980's. But service was excellent and the food was at the higher end of quality for this sector. All in all great value for money and we will be returning.

Really splendid little pub with great food, beautiful wood paneling and a decent selection of beers. The beer garden and live music is wonderful, If you're into that sort of thing, but there's also quiet corners as well.

Amazing food and really good service. Came for mother's Day, we were late by nearly an hour and they still managed to accommodate us. Food was really good, very pleased

Good food, good value, great service by Sophie. She even recommended the Rioja which was most enjoyable. She made us feel very welcome and she was really attentive. Star employee ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was pleasantly surprised,I'm not a fan of pub/restaurant chains. But the food and service was very good. My wife felt quite cold though. Sad to see how empty these places are on a Saturday night these days. The Staff (Although not exactly pushed) were excellent

Place is very clean and staff are amazing the only reason I haven't given this place a 5 star is because I'm a gannet and think that the pudding should be bigger other than that everything was absolutely amazing.

Good job I booked! Dog friendly, gluten free very well catered for,we were served with good food all round. Mozzarella bites are a must and an excellent choice of puddings! Thank you.

Unfortunately, I got in at the same time as a large funeral party... The first beer went off for my pint so I had to go for the AK Mild and it was disappointing. It was clear and fairly kept but it just tasted very bland, normally a sign of lack of demand meaning the real ale goes a bit flat and lifeless. The food selection looked good, though.

I don't think I've ever been served 5 drinks quicker. The burgers are huge, but there is always room for one their premium quality starters. I would certainly visit again!

Very well kept. Very friendly staff and the food was good. We had the Sunday roast, best deal. But kind of on the pricey side compared to other restaurants in the area. The refillable potato and greens was hardly an easy task, having to ask the waitress for a new load or gravy, it's a lot of work. But worth it.

Went for late Sunday lunch. Despite some options being no longer available we had great food and service. The roast beef was excellent and the gravy fantastic according to the lucky 3 recipients. Two of us had great burgers, though I prefer mine less well done, but most pub restaurants have to cook thoroughly as they are not home made. Deserts were great too, mine especially- hot cross bun bread & butter pudding and custard!

Service was fantastic as always, staff are always welcoming and helpful and the food is lovely and tasty! Especially the roast dinners

Lovely, welcoming venue. We ate late afternoon on Sunday so unfortunately not all the roasts were available so I had the chilli burger instead, which was delicious! Great staff, good choice of food at very reasonable prices!

Nice atmosphere. Good food, but fairly mundane menu. They don't change it for months on end. Because of COVID there are no cutlery and serviettes on the tables (after the first lockdown they were brought to the table in containers). Now the food is brought to you, then you wait for the cutlery and serviettes, then again for any sauces you want. The staff don't ask when they bring the food. Service used to be a lot better before COVID.

We've had a few good meals here, family of 5, but this last visit was a bit special. The service was first class, as always, but the food was absolutely amazing! We'd all had something different, and everyone agreed what a fantastic meal it was. We've had good food there before, but this was a level up. Amazing.

After landing at Luton airport (following 6 months abroad) we revisited for a nice meal & a very good English ale. We were also greeted with very pleasant & helpful staff. Highly recommended 😊

FOR MORE PUB REVIEWS AND GO LISTEN TO OUR PODCAST - PUBTROTTERS PUBCAST WE ALWAYS GIVE 5s AS ALL PUBS ARE DIFFERENT AND GREAT CONTEXT Random afternoon of food and beer, very busy between xmas and new years ATMOSPHERE Very family friendly, couple of kids crying occasionally, but all taken by others in good stead. Music level was great, nice hustle and bustle across the whole pub. SERVICE Had varying average to great here, but most recent visit was amazing! After a food and drink confusion, they quickly resolved it and refunded, even during a very busy period when a large table had just turned up, they went above and beyond. Friendly, kind and resourceful STYLE Classic country chain pub. Its a McMullens pub, but i do find they generally have a nice style, good level of lighting etc. TOILET Just mens, standard, nothing special, but clean. PRICE Pretty good actually draught pint of local craft, £5.25, Chese and bacon burger with fries £10.95 FOOD & DRINK Great selection of drink and pub classic food. Several draught and cask beers, craft beer included. And fantastic selection of non alco beers!

Pleasantly surprised. Saturday lunch with friends. The service was good, staff very friendly. Some seemed to be new and were lacking in a bit of confidence, but other than that all good. Varied choice of food. I felt the menu descriptions could have been better.

We ended up here last night completely accidentally after deciding to leave the restaurant we'd originally booked to have dinner at. I remembered googling the orange tree earlier in the night after driving passed it on the way into town and commenting on their lovely lights and seeing how great the reviews were so coming here was a no brainer as our second attempt. I called ahead to make sure they could accommodate us and they were so polite on the phone saying it wouldn't be an issue. The interior reminded us of a very basic country pub, no frills, no fuss, much more our kind of place. They've got ample parking to the front and even more at the back by the spacious garden as well, and a roaring fire inside the pub as well helps create a lovely homey atmosphere. They're also dog friendly (which only made me wish we'd have known earlier in the night to come here as we wouldn't have left ours home alone!) The food was very average pub prices but not average in service or taste. The staff were so lovely they immediately made us feel at ease, and the food was SO tasty! We went big last night! We went for the starter bundle where we had 4 for £19ish, I had the chickless goujons which were very tasty and the halloumi fries which again were cooked to perfection. No squeaky haloumi! My partner had the katsu chicken poppers and the pork ribs which he said were also amazing! For main I had the Pasta Arrabiata with halloumi as my topping (after eating the starter I had to have more!) and he had the Rump steak. His steak was ordered medium and honestly was cooked beautifully. He cut through it with ease and there was barely any fat on it at all. It was so good, he completely forgot to save any for the dog! My pasta was beautifully flavoured and just enough so I was full but not bloated and the garlic bread was a nice touch. Even the spinach/salad that came with the meal tasted so good! Everything was so fresh! For dessert I had the Hazlenut cheesecake and my partner had the oreo waffle and we decided to split them as we often do with dessert, both the waiter that took our order and the waiter that brought our food over both commented on my hazlenut cheesecake choice being the last one, and their favourite so I knew I was in for a treat. Both desserts were incredible and did not disappoint. We never normally eat 3 courses and believe me, were absolutely stuffed to the gills when we left but omg it was worth it! I already cannot wait to come back here and have also told our best friends who live locally about this place as its everything you could want in a dog friendly, cosy pub and more! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

Food and service great. Didn't realise it was a dog friendly pub. Waa my too sure about dogs either side of us. But food fab and definitely need to book. So very very busy.

Lovely pub, with good selection of IPA, wine, etc. They also make a nice coffee! Friendly staff. There was live music when we went, it was very good, and not too loud.

Had Sunday lunch here and was disappointed. Had the platter and whilst it says bottomless it was a struggle to get them to bring out more potatoes and veg. Also the first platter was cold and the response was we will warm it up which I refused so had to wait while they re done it also asked for mustard etc which I had to ask for 4 times. After that it was not a bad meal and I understand it was busy but that is no excuse for poor service and bringing out cold food. Shame really not sure if I would come back.

Attended the Orange Tree last night gor a 60th birthday meal. There were 9 of us and there was not one complaint about the meal service, prices. Excellent, thank you very much for a perfect evening.

Large dining area with a good selection of food and great service. Opted for both sharer starters (vegetarian nachos and chicken platter). Plenty for four. Mains included lasagne, nut roast (Sunday roast options available), hunters chicken, and Mac's health salad with chicken. Friendly and attentive service from Kelly. Good COVID19 precautions in place throughput the whole of the premises. Recommended.
