Krandall & Melanie were fantastic guides!! They were so personable! They answered all my dad's questions and held conversations out of interest. The extra environmentally friendly suggestions given to people were spot on! Thank you!

I happened to be here on a rainy day and a lot of the animals were just laying down or not seen. It appears as they keep good care of their animals, you cant say that about a lot of places. This place is more of a Nature Reserve than a zoo. The zoos is included in BrookGreen Gardens, and a pass lasts 7 days so you can always return if time runs short or it rains. They have many paths and it can be great exercise.

Lowcountry Zoo, part of Brookgreen Gardens, is more a nature reserve than a typical zoo. The exhibits are local wildlife in compounds that mimic their natural environs. The trails are paved with little change on elevation giving a leisurely, peaceful experience. Well worth the entry fee.

I went here as part of a trip to brookgreen gardens, and was really happy with the experience. They say it's a zoo, but it feels much less planned. We never saw any of the keepers except at the very beginning with the horse. We actually didn't really see any other people at all on a Sunday morning, which was ideal. I loved seeing the otters and the aviary walkthrough was awesome.

Not really a zoo in the typical sense but more of a wild life area. A great little walk that is worth your time to see some of the animals. It shouldn’t take too long to walk thru. Depends on how busy it is, you can walk over from the main gardens but I drove over and found parking easy. It was not too busy.

It was more of an interactive native animal zoo. Nicely laid out and very peaceful. Was not a lot of people here so we got through the few native animal exhibits fairly quick. But the gardens were spectacular and was there for a few hours.

Inside Brookgreen Gardens. Butterfly enclosure was my favorite part of this area. Animals in this are are basic farm animals. The wall from the rice fields area to this zoo was mostly shaded.

Part of Brookgreen Gardens, it's just another great reason to visit. Interesting exhibits on a beautiful property.

Our family of 4 went today and spent a little over 3 hours here. We mainly came for the zoo. This place is way more than a zoo, there’s a pretty large play area with a castle for kids, a row of mini sensory gardens for kids, there’s a cafe in here somewhere. The animals look well taken care of and the otters were the highlight of my daughters day. This was a rice plantation and the trails have statues, and little educational audio stories along the walk. I really appreciated the fact that they didn’t erase the history behind the plantation. I couldn’t imagine working those rice fields in the summer heat. If you’d like to do the boat ride it’s extra but it looks worth it. Our tickets $50 for general admission and we can keep using them as often as we want for 7 days!! We will definitely be back to do a walk through the gardens next time. I don’t know why we haven’t been sooner but this place is great.

A rainy day at the zoo. It was my first time at the zoo. I came in late in the day during the rain. But I still had fun. It's a nice little Zoo to walk the children around, or for bird lovers, senior friendly and an easy walk. Plus for price of admission you get admission to all the parks and museums enjoy it..

I could spend days there without seeing everything they have. The people there are very knowledgeable about the animals as well as the environment. I learned so much while just walking with one of the workers there. I will be returning for the night time lights during the Christmas season beginning the day after Thanksgiving. I can hardly wait, this looks like it will be spectacular. By the way, I was using an electronic scooter 🛵 and I had no trouble navigating the trails and sidewalks throughout the whole park. All and all, it was a spectacular visit.

Not bad, not great. The bird aviary gets 5 stars, that was awesome. The predator birds was a disappointment, while they take birds from rehabilitation due to injuries, etc. the birds appeared bored, their dead mice dinner lay on the ground with flies all over it... 🤢 but I get it. Would have liked to see a larger aviary with trees for the haws and owls.

The zoo was nice. Not a lot of animals but the tour that we joined was nice. Jim the tour guy did a nice job. The tour was about 45 minutes. You could walk the zoo yourself but the tour was free so why not.

Me and my family always love visiting the zoo when we visit. It's a peaceful and beautiful place to walk and admire the animals. Can you see the lizard hiding in the woods?

I am an animal lover, and so is my daughter. We enjoyed seeing the animals interact with each other. Their environment was very well kept and clean. The staff spent a lot of time with the animals there. A mama goat gave birth to triple that morning we visited.

A great little zoo with lots of information about the animals and their habitats. There are usually people out and about who have bones, teeth, and small exhibits that kids can touch. We loved Red Wolf Ridge and the grey foxes.

Such a lovely part of the Brookgreen Gardens! Otters are my favorite and they were so playful and fun to watch! We also could pet the goats and they were so sweet!

We have come to the main gardens on several occasions but this was our first time walking the zoo. Definitely kid friendly. Lots of green space and picnic areas. Very fun storybook playground too.

It is located at Greenbrook Gardens. What a glorious day. You'll get lost in time. There's so much to see. Sculputes. Walking trails. The zoo. There are excursions you can add to your experience for a fee. We took the boat tour. It was very nice.

This is a cool little spot to visit. The butterfly 🦋 experience was unfortunately closed when we got there (it closes at 2pm daily) but the rest of the zoo was very interesting!

The zoo at Brookgreen Gardens was wonderful. The zoo is clean and the animals seem to be well taken care of. There is also a butterfly enclosure. Great area to spend some quite time.

Always a beautiful little zoo to take a walk around. Showcases different species native to the area and they are adding a new wolf exhibit soon!
