I
was
apprehensive
at
first
to
take
classes
on
stand-up--why
would
you
take
classes
instead
of
just
going
out
and
"doing
it?"
I
was
wrong.
These
classes
were
very
helpful
for
me,
an
aspiring
but
discouraged
comic.
I
took
2
stand
up
classes
with
Coach
Steph
Holmes.
Her
classes
were
great
workshops.
They
taught
you
what
to
expect
out
there
beyond
the
classroom,
of
course,
but
they
also
taught
you
how
to
communicate
and
connect
with
an
audience.
Great
tips
on
how
to
form
your
voice
and
be
funny.
You
learn
how
to
write,
how
to
rewrite,
edit,
adjust
tone,
add
or
take
away
context,
and
more.
She's
a
great
professor,
has
a
great
deal
of
knowledge.
Most
importantly,
she's
generous
with
it.
Comedy's
weird
because
it's
so
subjective,
but
I
without
a
doubt
FEEL
funnier
after
these
classes
and
shows.
I
also
feel
more
confident.
If
you
can
go
up
on
stage
and
tell
jokes
to
people,
you
can
do
pretty
much
anything.
