My
visit
to
JCPENNEY
was
awful.
I
was
there
to
make
an
online
return.
The
checkout/return
station
was
literally
located
at
the
farthest
wall
of
the
door.
I
had
to
find
&
and
ask
TWO
different
associates
for
directions.
Once
I
found
it,
I
read
and
reread
&
reread
the
sign
that
should
indicate
which
side
of
the
counter
for
returns
I
switched
lines
FOUR
times
in
an
attempt
to
make
sure
I
was
in
the
correct
line.
When
I
finally
got
to
the
counter,
the
woman
exclaimed
rather
loudly
that
I
was
in
the
wrong
line.
I
was
at
my
breaking
point
because
1.
The
items
I
was
returning
were
for
my
mother,
who
suddenly
died
before
ever
wearing
them,
and
2.
I
am
(obviously
with
medical
equipment)
disabled.
I
was
exhausted.
I
leaned
in
to
ask
her
if
she
could
please
make
an
exception
and
do
the
return.
She
then
turned
away,
looked
up
to
the
ceiling,
to
ask
in
an
exasperated
tone
if
I
needed
to
get
into
the
other
line!!
I
literally
yelled
at
her
the
question,
"Are
you
going
to
facilitate
this
return
or
not!"
When
she
looked
back
at
me,
I
whispered,
in
tears,
"Lady,
I'm
sorry.
You
have
no
idea
what
this
return
is
about.
Please,
please,
I
do
not
have
the
capacity
for
this
right
now.
My
mother
just
died
yesterday,
and
she
never
even
wore
these
things"
She
still
did
not
help
me!!
Picture
a
crying
woman
whispering
help
me,
and
she
turned
away
and
did
the
same
act
as
before!
Thank
goodness
a
very
young
man
stepped
in,
triaged
&
problem-solved
by
telling
her,
"take
my
register,
I'll
do
the
return".
She
still
resisted!!!
This
young
man
leaned
toward
me
and
de-escalated
the
situation
by
saying,
"You
are
fine.
I
used
to
work
at
Giant
Eagle,
and
believe
me,
I've
seen
the
worst.
You
are
nowhere
like
that!"
I
apologized
to
him,
explaining
why
I
was
so
emotional.
He
kindly
refused
my
apologies.
In
fact,
he
paused
and
gave
me
his
condolences
AND
gently
told
me
to
"just
take
good
care
of
yourself...".
He
carefully
facilitated
the
return
and
offered
kindness
as
I
turned
to
leave.
Thank
goodness
for
him.
I
wish
I
had
noticed
his
name
so
I
could
have
praised
him
to
his
superiors.
