Honestly,
this
is
incredibly
sad
to
write.
My
grandmother
was
in
this
facility
a
little
over
a
week.
On
her
last
day
in
the
facility,
she
hit
the
call
button
for
someone
to
come
help
her
because
she
was
gasping
for
air
and
could
not
breathe.
Nobody
ever
came.
She
luckily
had
a
life
alert
button
and
hit
it
which
notified
my
dad
and
my
uncle.
My
dad
called
the
facility
and
demanded
someone
go
help
my
grandma
as
he
was
flying
up
there
to
help.
They
administered
a
nebulizer
treatment
and
would
not
call
9-11
and
instead
threw
out
that
she
had
a
DNR.
The
DNR
she
had
was
when
her
heart
stopped
beating
they
would
no
longer
restart
it,
not
to
not
help
her.
My
dad
called
9-11
and
took
her
to
St
John
Westshore
by
ambulance.
That
was
by
far
the
worst
incident.
Other
lesser
incidents
involved
a
man
who
left
my
grandma
on
the
toilet
for
over
ten
minutes.
A
lady
came
in
and
yanked
her
off
the
toilet
which
hurt
her
because
she
had
no
cartilage
in
either
shoulder.
We
addressed
this
with
the
social
worker
and
asked
they
be
gentler
in
regards
to
her
shoulders
when
lifting
her.
My
grandma
also
told
me
a
tall
lady
in
a
black
shirt
had
yelled
at
her
because
she
was
trying
to
get
someone
to
help
her
by
banging
on
the
table
and
was
being
ignored.
This
was
the
first
time
the
call
button
had
been
ignored.
I
also
observed
an
aide
yell
at
my
grandma
because
she
was
coughing
when
the
aide
was
trying
to
administer
medicine
(she
had
covid
and
pneumonia
so
a
cough
was
expected).
Also,
a
week
went
by
before
we
found
out
that
we
were
allowed
to
schedule
a
care
plan
meeting.
Up
until
this
meeting,
nobody
could
tell
us
what
was
going
on
and
how
she
could
make
progress
to
get
out
of
the
facility.
The
onboarding
package
left
at
her
bedside
said
the
staff
was
supposed
to
set
up
the
care
plan
meeting
the
first
week
she
was
there
but
this
is
something
we
ended
up
doing
to
figure
out
what
was
going
on.
The
care
plan
meeting
itself
was
very
helpful.
Her
PT,
social
worker,
financial
person,
and
head
nurse
explained
everything
to
us.
This
was
the
best
interaction
we
had
while
she
was
in
there.
Overall,
we
observed
that
this
facility
was
extremely
understaffed
and
in
addition
to
that,
the
staff
were
busy
looking
up
their
genealogy
and
flirting
with
each
other
in
the
hallways
to
take
care
of
their
residents.
We
chose
this
facility
because
of
the
reviews
being
4/5
stars.
I
highly
recommend
you
reconsider
putting
your
loved
one
here
if
you
too
are
reading
the
reviews.
We
were
fooled.
