5/5 must go if you’re in Vancouver! The food is an awesome blend of African + South Asian flavors. We loved the mishaki, ribs, and samosas! The wait staff and owner were also very friendly and checked in with us. Great food, atmosphere, service, and prices!

People sometimes forget we have a lot of diversity in this town! Jambo is great for African and Indian flavours. The menu reflects this and is split into two sections. Service friendly, food even better!

The whole experience was nice, tried their combos that were available which came with kabab tandoori chicken ribs sides along with appetizers and desserts. The food was great specially the ribs were great. Totally recommend for anyone looking for good kababs

I went there after hearing a lot of positive reviews about this place and I would say I wasn’t disappointed at all. The food is great and a lot of variety of options from different African countries that makes it hard to choose because they are all looks great and taste DELICIOUS. The place it’s self is well decorated and good vibes. The stuff is so welcomed and so friendly. The owner was checking on us and making sure we are happy and satisfied with the service. Highly recommend

I had a good time with my friends at the restaurant. Started by sipping the flavorful Masala Chai and felt like I haven't had a better one anywhere in Vancouver before. Bel Puri was good. I wasn't expecting potatoes in a Lamb Biriyani, but it was good. Also had Roti with mild spicy Lamb curry and it was good too. Thank you!

This was such a nice treat for me on a hot summer evening. Friends of mine brought me here . They have been here three times in the last month and a half. So of course I wanted to find out about all the hype . So it's a mixture of styles. Some INDIAN &some AFRICAN. I was intrigued. My friends tried the vegetable curry and the chicken , beef, shrimp satay. It's smelled so good. They had a side of rice and a dessert which I can't remember the name. They enjoyed it. I had the chicken biryani and fell in love. Such big pieces on the bone. The sauce was so savory and left a nice after taste. Garlic naan was delicious as well. I recommend going and we will be back😋😊

My friend and I were both extremely happy we chose this place tonight. The food was screaming in flavor, bite after bite after mouthwatering bite! The homemade sauce they make with the cornish hen, is worth hiding a body for. Truly one of the best sauces I have ever had. Service was impeccable. 15 stars!!!

This place is SO good. I usually share a meat platter with a friend. Everything has a lot of flavor but the ribs are -unreal-. The masala fries are really good too. You'll leave full and happy. Drink-wise, they have a few interesting cocktails. A very interesting place with culture and good vibes. They can accommodate large groups as well.

First time to try both dishes and my friend and I enjoyed it so much. One dish is good for 2 people. Mildly spicy and flavorful, yogurt on the side balances the heat. Great customer service. Fish looks big but not a lot of meat though. Still, I think price is reasonable for the serving size. Fries are crispy and not too salty. Will definitely consider going back here to try other dishes.

I heard a lot about Jambo Grill Tandoori and Paan House through my family who have been here many times before, decided to go have lunch today and was blown away by the amazing service and the excellent food! I highly recommend trying Jambo Grill.

I ordered Chilli Paneer with Garlic naan. The Chilli paneer came with dry peaces and no gravy (Half cooked spices). it was inconvenient to eat, The quality of the food was extremely low.

Decent food in a good ambience! Their platters are very filling and taste well. Service is very much appreciated. Personally I didn’t like their “Tilapia Fish” with Pili pili sauce on top. Maybe it was too saucy for me. Nonetheless it was flavory and a bit expensive though. Look forward to try their other courses in future! Highly recommend..if you need to try some different cuisine…

Some of the best butter chicken I have ever had. I have passed this place for years and never went in but man am I glad I did. I got their butter chicken pasta and was not disappointed. Huge portion, great flavor, the perfect amount of spice for me. Would recommend and I will be back to try more of the menu.

We had the most food fun experience here today . Super Ugandan Indian style decor , art work everywhere . The chicken samosa in a crisp filo shell served with coconut chutney , the Jungle ribs and butter chicken ... such great portions and authentic home cooked flavours ! Check out the celebrity wall to see who else enjoyed the exciting flavours and huge diverse menu ! Too full to try the desserts but bought iced paan to take home . Definitely you must try this cuisine . The manager is very helpful, attentive and knowledgable . Thanks guys for a great exotic taste adventure

This is the second African-Indian restaurant I have been to, the first being Simba's Grill where I had some curry that wasn't very good. So, I thought I would try something different. We had complimentary mini drinks that had mango and some herbs in it. Was reall good and I hope they have it in their menus later. I ordered the Cassava fries and the African Chili Chicken with pili pili sauce. The sides were fries and pili pili corn. I had the Cassava fries with medium spice and it was great. Perfectly fried. I feel it is better than the ones I had at Simba's Grill. I'm not sure what pili pili tastes like but the chicken with pili pili tasted really different from the pili pili corn. The sauce for the chicken was delicious. The spice adds up overtime was it wasnt overly spicy. The chicken was moist. The fries were also really crispy and well done. The corn however, were tough and the sauce was different and did not taste as good as the pili pili for the chicken. I had a taste of the Lamb biryani and I felt many Indian places can do the dish better. I'm not sure how good their curry is but the 5 stars is for the chili chicken and cassava fries.

Excellent food - we had both Indian and African dishes and we enjoyed everything. Pro tip: get their delicious chai tea to go with your meal - it's flavorful and fresh. Also, we experienced great service from all the servers and the owner.

Food was great. Service was ok. They assumed we had other party members coming since the table for two wasn't cleaned up so they sat us at a four people table. Then proceed to ignore us for quite a while and not even offering water until we ordered by looking at the menu online.

I swear I'm not racist, but the thought of eating in a safari, with motifs such as "jungle ribs" is really off-putting to me. I had the meat hali thali, it came with two curries and other dishes, and was a decent amount of food. The curries weren't as flavourful as others I've had, and the chicken curry in particular was not good. I wasn't a fan of the Gujarati dal, it was too thin and tangy. The rest of the dishes were alright, papad, naan, Kheer, and I liked the carrot pickles.

Food was cold and service was not nice. I ordered their wings and ribs it was literally brought out like it was microwaved. This place is not cheap either be ready to pay $$$. I was excited about the food since i heard a lot of good reviews and the owner posted a bunch of pictures of celebrities dining (you can see it right when you enter). I will try something else next time maybe it will be better, but the waiters/waitresses should be trained to smile at the customer's to be more welcoming & I personally like my food hot not cold. I woke up the next day running straight to the toilet and my stomach acid in my mouth.

Nice fusion themed restaurant with the taste of Iran, India, Africa and Canada. We ordered: 1. Chilli Chicken: 4.5/5 2. Chicken Thali: 4.3/5 The portions were sufficient for 1 person. The Thali had a lot of variety. The Chicken masala curry was yum but the dal was okay. The carrot pickle served in the thali was something different and tasty. Loved the vibes and overall experience ✨️

It is a good restaurant. It was busy over the weekend and that's why I think the service was slow. Food is good but comparing with previous old visits the amount of the food is way less and the price is higher than old days. Overall is nice place.

As an African-Indian fusion restaurant this was very interesting. Ordered the goat curry, daal bhaji ( lentil pancake) and not pictured Ugandan chapathi (flat bread) and they were all quite tasty. The curry goat was one of the best ( not the best) I’ve had in Vancouver but, for 25+ there was barely any meat and two large pieces of bone. While the food was good, it definitely is not worth ordering here. For this price-value there are numerous better places with a similar menu in town.

I wanted to try some pani puri and this place showed up with good reviews. In the picture is the pani puri with naan and butter chicken that I ordered. The sauce for the butter chicken was a bit too salty for me but the taste was still great. I can’t tell you if there was a decent amount of chicken in there cuz all I cared about was the sauce lol. Having the raw onions left over from the pani puri helped to refresh my palette to eat more butter chicken. I would to go to the restaurant in person and try the food hot off the grill. Thank you for the food!

Best food ever! I would advise, food here is little different from a regular Indian restaurants so ask them what you don't understand and you will get the best advice from them. Staff is super helpful, pleasent and welcoming. Great cocktails!

Food was delicious, we tried choma platters and the ribs were super juicy and it was like throwing meat spice bomb in your mouth. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try out the taste of East African/Indian cuisine. Also, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about their cuisine.

Avoid at all costs. I placed an order through SkiptheDishes of Ribs for $30 and what I got was a complete scam. See photo attached - in what world is this $30? The ribs, lassi, and mombassa Iced Tea were terrible. Had to throw out the whole order - $45 gone. Avoid this place.
