Came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had a wonderful view of the river and sunset. The service was great and the food was very delicious! He had the roast lamb and I had the garlic butter prawns. We will definitely be back and will recommend this restaurant to our friends.

We visited as a large group on a busy night and the experience was mostly good. The lamb wrap turned out to be the best entree out of all our orders, but I also really enjoyed the rice and potato sides. Otherwise, the moussaka was delicious as well; the calamari, lamb, and chicken souvlaki however were really dry (this the lower review). There was a really long wait for service during the whole experience but that’s not a bad comment about the server herself, she had no help and served the whole section by herself. The desserts were great too, if you have room for any! I might try it again if I’m craving Greek food in the neighbourhood, but I also know there’s other options nearby.

Nice table to enjoy the view of the water! I enjoyed the roast lamb platter here. Moist lamb, good size, boneless and not very fatty. It came with a nice fresh bowl of Greek salad, rice, potatoes and bread. I was very full after. We tried the Ek Mek dessert which was delicious, not too sweet and was a good size for two to share. I'd come back to try other dishes.

I received top notch service from my phone reservation to the time I left the restaurant with everyone smiling and saying goodbye and thanking me for coming in, which was so nice! My server was Kostas. He was friendly, quick and efficient, and helpful. My host was the same, although I didn't catch her name. My meal was served hot and was very enjoyable, especially the tzatziki! The potatoes are prepared with mustard, I believe, which I don't love, but they were still ok. I was in a bit of a rush to get back to my hotel before the strong winds and extreme cold came, and they had me in and out, well fed, and happy with my experience in an hour. I can write a full essay about the service, the food, and the ambiance. However, I will keep it simple. Great food, great people, amazing ambience, and with good company you cannot go wrong! FYI there are some options for my vegetarian friends as well. The owners are from Greece and they know how to make great Greek food. I was surprised by the way they treated us, it really made me miss home! If you drink I highly suggest you to get OUZO!! Can’t wait to visit again!

Dined here with another couple on a Tuesday evening. Service was great, food was tasty and hot. Server was very attentive and friendly. Gorgeous view of the Waterfront from our table! Didn't give 5 stars as there was no AC, and we were sweltering in the midst of a heat wave 🥵

I'm definitely not an expert on Greek food, but this was definitely among the best I've had, on par with what I was finding in Europe! I came here as a spur of the moment with a couple of people, based on recommendations I've received. I was not disappointed at all! I had the lamb souvlaki and it was delicious! There was no gamey-ness that some lamb dishes have. We also ordered the calamari and it was delicious. My partner loves calamari and said it was easily some of the best he's had. We also went through a couple pitchers of sangria. For dessert, we decided to try one of each, but my favourite was the ek met and bougatsa. The staff were all extraordinary and we loved our server. Will definitely be back and will make a reservation next time!

If you're looking for a unique dining experience this is the place to go, the view of the Frasier river is spectacular, but we're not talking about the view were talking about the food. Oh boy was I treated to exceptional meal, the hummus and pita appetizer was delightful you could taste how fresh the chickpeas and garlic was, it was complimented with a hot pita And for the main course I had the lamb skewers which was amazing seasoned nicely, very tender, and flavorful the Greek salad was a nice contrast. I enjoyed the rice but the texture was more soft than I prefer. Otherwise I had great experience if you're in New Westminster area hit them up. Thank you.

The roasted lamb was perfectly cooked, but the low portion for those avoiding carbs left me wanting. Unfortunately, the hummus fell short – its runny texture and lack of minced ingredients made it seem like canned chickpeas with skins on. No cumin, lime juice, or olive oil was detectable; it felt almost like a frozen hummus experience.

I have always loved this restaurant, the moussaka is amazing. We got the platter last night and between 2 people, it was way too much food🙈 when it's not foggy, there is such an amazing view too.

Amazing experience, we knew once we had to be sat at the bar that we chose a great place to eat because this place was PACKED. My partner and I both got lamb and loved it, easily the best I've ever had. Plates were large but the food was so well cooked that we ate all of it without any issues, and not even a hint of indigestion or heartburn- good food sits great. Bartender was so friendly and great to speak to in-between her making drinks for a packed restaurant. It was a fantastic experience. I do recommend a reservation on a Saturday night however, we were remarkably lucky to receive even bar seating at the time we walked in. Well worth the reservation however. 10/10.

Food was actually not bad, but very dishonest practice. We decided to try this place yesterday due to the good reviews. We were asked to tap and pay when picking up our take out and the amounts were already entered into the machine by the staff. Later when we checked the receipt, a 20 percent tip was slapped onto our take out order. I understand that we are in a pandemic and should support our local businesses. But, seriously!?! No asking, no telling, and automatically adding a 20 percent tip for giving us our take out order? Well, that is the last time you earn my business.

Great view, service and food. I really liked the Kalamari and drinks here. I think the roast lamb isn't to my liking as it was a bit dry for me but overall it's a good restaurant and I highly recommend it. Will definitely back to try other items on the menu.

Taverna Greka is a charming restaurant in New Westminster. The view overlooking the river was stunning. It was a huge plus to the overall experience. The interiors are warm and cozy with fresco-looking Greek paintings on the wall. Food was really good and prices are reasonable. The beef souvlaki and lamb roast were cooked perfectly. The chicken breasts were a little overcooked. All plates came with Greek salad and rice which is standard for most Greek restaurants. I highly recommend the Tamara dip and Saganaki. It is a nice spot to visit!

The owners take good care of their restaurant. The staff are super friendly They also have amazing food It has an amazing view of the river , The Lamb chops and Kalamari are to die for . Love the whole experience

Phenomenal service and stellar food! I just had the roast lamb plate for dinner, and it was the juiciest, tastiest lamb I’ve had in years. The rice was cooked to perfection, and the whole dish was perfect. I also had the ekmek for dessert, which was delicious, but too large for one person! I guess I need to come back and share many plates with friends, so I can try the rest of the menu!

It has always been a great memory and experience whenever I get to dine at this restaurant. The quality and taste of their Greek dishes are really delectable. So far, I've only tried their roast lamb and calamari with all those accompaniments and oh, I always enjoy their warm pita with hummus and tzatziki - the best! My co-workers would also mention that they prefer this way better than the competition across the street 😅

We had really good time. River view was amazing and I forgot to take my food photo’s because the owner was really friendly, we just keep talked with him. I felt really comfortable thank you for everything 🫶🏻

First time at Taverna Greka and it was good. We got a table with a view of the Fraser River and it was pleasant to sit and enjoy the view. The service was great and attentive. I had the Roast Lamb. The meat was tender and tasty, wish it came with a bit more. The rice and potatoes were cooked well and great flavour. The Greek salad was a little on the bland side. Perhaps a bit more seasoning on it. The calamari was good, could also use a bit more seasoning as it was also on the bland side. Overall, a good Greek Restaurant and would go back.

Absolutely had the best time at Taverna Greka. We started with Saganaki. The cheese was fried perfectly. We started with a cool watermelon vodka cocktail and then I had a lovely house red wine. I had a chicken souvlaki and it was so tender and had a really nice flavor. My favorite part of the meal was the tzatziki. It goes with everything, rice, chicken, potatoes and pita. The owner stopped by to chat with us for a bit and he’s a lovely man. I’m definitely going back.

Lovely setting and service. The bread was warm and freshly baked, salad firm and fresh, but the lamb didn't quite hit the spot for me. Perhaps it was due to a different way of cooking than I'm used to normally. I feel it would taste better if it retained more of its natural fats - entirely subjective of cos.

Good food, good view and good services! I dropped my cooler accidentally but the beautiful server, Leni, came right away and cleaned it ripidly as well as bought me new cooler without additional charges. It is a hidden gem anyone should try!

We used to come to this restaurant for years but unfortunately moved 14hrs away so haven't been in many years. I'm happy to say we were able to visit in November and the food is still just as wonderful. The service is top notch and the view over the river can't be beat in the evening. We usually get the chicken souvlaki but this time my husband had a half chicken half beef and will be having that every time going forward, he still talks about the beef. We highly recommend this restaurant and always will.

This authentic Greek restaurant has been an icon in New Westminster for ages. Located right on Columbia street, it’s easy to find. Look for their name in bright blue lights. If you’re celebrating a special occasion or have out of town visitors, reserve a table by the window. Here you will get a beautiful view of the Fraser River. They were busy on the weekend which took a little longer for our food to arrive. It was worth the wait. They had a ‘features’ menu and I highly recommend ordering the Tarama Dip which is red caviar served with pita bread. Unusual and tasty. We ordered the moussaka, vegetarian moussaka, roasted lamb, & lamb chops. All entrees came with rice, roast potatoes, Greek salad, pita & tzatziki. Everyone loved their selections. Flavourful, fresh, and a decent portion. Great value! Our server was friendly Parking can be a bit of a challenge. Get there early! If you enjoy Greek food, this is the place!
