So
this
is
going
to
be
a
relatively
thorough
review,
because
road
biking
is
an
important
part
of
my
life.
I
have
road
biked
for
over
forty
years,
and
so
have
some
legitimacy
to
my
views.
I
have
used
many
repair
shops,
the
latest
being
Caps
and
Bicycle
Sports
Pacific.
I
have
been
dissatisfied
with
both,
for
varying
reasons.
Caps
is
a
rough
operation,
trying
to
intimate
that
it
is
run
by
bikeys
who
are
hardcore,
and
therefore
don’t
have
time
to
be
professional
or
maintain
a
professional
environment.
Some
of
the
staff
are
friendly,
many
are
indifferent
at
best,
and
maintain
an
air
of
“were
so
busy,
you’ll
be
lucky
to
get
your
bike
when
we
tell
you”.
Needless
to
say,
as
a
mature
adult
professional,
I
find
this
tiring
at
best.
Bicycle
Sports
Pacific
is
gigantic,
but
all
too
often
doesn’t
have
the
right
size
of
socks,
helmet,
or
any
chain
degreaser
on
hand.
They
are
also
pricey
beyond
merit,
and
the
front
desk
service
is
sluggish
and
always
on
the
phone
(to
be
kind).
Now
to
a
wonderful
surprise
and
positive
experience.
I
decided
to
try
the
relatively
new
Giant
store
in
Langley,
as
I
like
Giant
bikes
as
rugged
enough
for
the
rough
roads
here,
and
yet
still
fast
and
smooth
enough
operating
to
be
a
great
ride.
On
arriving
with
three
bikes
(two
trail,
and
a
road
bike),
I
was
professionally
greeted
by
the
service
manager
and
an
assistant.
They
were
pleasant,
engaging,
but
laid
back
enough
that
no
hard
sale
or
up
sell
were
apparent
(which
I
always
find
highly
annoying,
as
I
know
what
I
want,
and
what
matters).
Their
prices
were
very
reasonable,
package
options
were
bang
on
for
covering
anyone’s
needs,
and
they
made
the
whole
process
easy.
I
declared
that
I
wasn’t
in
a
rush
as
the
weather
was
still
cold
and
inclement,
so
they
quoted
a
bit
of
a
long
turn
around
time,
but
to
be
fair
I
had
a
pretty
full
pile
of
work,
and
wasn’t
concerned
at
the
time.
That
changed
with
unseasonably
warm
Mid-March
weather,
and
so
I
phoned
in
a
panic
(wanting
to
get
the
road
bike
on
the
road
in
the
worst
way),
and
was
informed
that
they
were
still
waiting
for
a
part
to
complete
the
repair.
I
pushed
a
bit,
and
asked
them
to
try
and
call/rush
the
part.
It
couldn’t
be
done,
BUT,
the
service
manager
found
an
interim
part,
and
it
was
ready
the
day
I
called!!
Now
THAT
is
real
service
and
going
beyond
the
normal
(no
shot
that
would’ve
happened
at
CAPS
or
Pacific,
or
nearly
anywhere
in
any
business
in
this
day
and
age.
Absolutely
fantastic!
To
add
to
the
service,
the
young
man
attending
when
I
arrived
for
pick
up
actually
helped
me
take
the
bikes
to
the
car.
I
can
tell
you
that
NEVER
happens
anywhere
else,
EVER.
It
may
seem
like
a
small
thing,
but
small
things
added
to
together
become
something
great
and
special.
The
bike
performed
near
perfectly
on
the
first
ride,
and
the
wheels
were
absolutely
true
(for
once,
as
most
repair
outfits
think
they
know
how
to
true
the
wheels,
and
hardly
even
come
close).
Very
gratifying
and
satisfying.
My
only
criticism
is
that
they
also
are
often
out
of
large
size
socks,
and
chain
degreaser,
but
hopefully
that
will
be
quickly
corrected.
All
in
all,
a
literal
five
star
experience.
April
6/2019:
Had
another
great
experience
today
at
Giant
in
Langley,
where
the
fantastic
staff
and
manager
tuned
up
some
stretched
cables
and
helped
me
with
picking
out
the
best
biking
clothes
I’ve
had
in
fifteen
years.
Thanks
again
for
another
great
day
of
service
everyone!
