Great place to go, the grounds has plenty of walk routes. The Ferrer's arts and crafts nearby there's a nice little cafe you can grab some food and a drink from, then across from the arts and crafts you have a Staunton Harold garden centre and water work aquatics they have all sorts of tropical and coldwater fish and loads of things for outdoors in the garden from bits and bobs to make yourself a pond to decorative fountains. I'll be adding more pictures later on this week

The sign and website say it is only open Tuesday and Sunday, but during August and September, it has been open on a Saturday. One of only 3 churches in the country built during Oliver Cromwells time in charge. Built by Sir Robert Shirley, who lived in the hall and had two trips to the tower of London, it was his way of protesting against the change in religion brought on by Cromwell. The painted roof shows chaos before religion brings peace. Some box pews and stained glass to admire, too. Sir Robert never saw the church finished, but he is buried in the crypt under the altar and has a memorial. Outside the church, you will find another crypt built after the original flooded due to the river being changed. If you look through the window, you can see the coffins of those at rest. A guidebook is avadible at Calke Abbey

A lovely well maintained church with a lovely feel inside. It's about 10 to 15 minutes to walk here from the carpark.

Intresting old church with all wooden "family pews" separated off as I've not quite seen before. Guide very helpful. Stained glass beautiful.

Lovely church with lots of history. Only open two days. Park in Ferrer's centre with parking charge of £2 at weekends. Self guided tour is free flow from 12noon. Otherwise book tour at 10:30 am for an hour but £5 adults and half price for children even if NT members .

Wow that painted woodern ceiling is amazing. Love the stained glass windows as well. Guides on hand who are very knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. Very peaceful to just sit and soak up the atmosphere. Would recommend a visit ⛪

The setting by the water is delightful , the church has great history and the ceiling paintings are worth seeing (though personally I found them somewhat underwhelming). The volunteer was excellent , friendly and informative . Although the history may make it important and some may like the ceiling painting , a good church for me it didn't make. Nearby is a garden centre, craft shops and plenty of good walks. The parking at weekends is chargeable at £2. Please check opening times of the church as it is now only open Sundays, till the spring when it will also be open on Tuesdays.

Nice place to visit, but pick your days as the church is not always open. Stunning walks along the lakes, very picturesque.
