Living in Allentown, this is one of my favorite nearby hiking areas. I make use of trails during all 4 seasons, and fish during the warmer months. This is also a great place for kids to see bison and elk (and who doesn't love driving their car across the ford?). There are a range of difficulties among trails here. Those along the Jordan Creek are relatively flat and good for people looking for an easy stroll. More experienced hikers will enjoy the vistas in the North Range along the Trexler Border Trail. Fair warning, from winter until early spring beware persistent ice along the northern slopes of the North Range, as well as flooding after heavy rains at the very southern tip of the TBT. There are plenty of intersecting trails to detour if you want to avoid these sections.

One of the MOST beautiful parts of Pennsylvania. Rolling hills, sprawling views, nature at its finest. The walking trails through the park are a MUST do for family's or Solo. Very safe and strong walk. We were able to play in the water this visit and enjoy the hot weather. Lots of wildlife from fish to frogs and wild Bison. Be sure to stop at a few of the overlooks and get out and sit for awhile. You don't really soak it in until after a few minutes of sitting on their benches finally allowing the breeze to bring it all to you. Very clean, so keep it that way! Clean up after yourself and others.

Not sure why it's asking me about tickets and cost? The Preserve itself is free when you hike it. Didn't go to the Zoo, but went the trails. Saw Bison and Elk. Trail itself was nice and peaceful but brutal uphill at times in the heat. A few look out points have simply breathtaking views over the valleys.

This has changed very little from several years ago when I lived in the area . The zoo entry is the same entry as the free preserve drive through( it took ua a lot of false roads to discover this!). The zoo would have cost $11.00 but did not appear very large, so we passed. We packed a lunch and ate by the creek in a lovely spot. The buffalo snd elk were visible and the day was perfect! It took about 30 minutes to drive through with photo stops. Will definitely return!

This huge park surrounds the Lehigh Valley Zoo. Within the preserve is Trexler Creek, picnic tables and a ford across the creek.

It's a beautiful place to trek and spend your time with your loved ones in the form of a picnic. They have multiple treks routes starting from 2 miles to 13 miles and some the trek do pass nearby a river stream which make it very serene. These treks can also be completed by cycling. There is a watch tower at the starting point of these treks and it also have toilets. There was a small food court also there however it was closed when we visited.

This hiking experience was one of my favorites! The parking lot is a stone lot. There were multiple parts of the preserve that connected. I'd say that nature-lovers could make a whole day out of it. The bugs weren't bad at all. We passed three beautiful bridges. We saw wildlife along the way. Some parts of the hike were steep, others were even. Some parts of the trails went over the main roads while others went deeper into the woods. It had a nice mix of scenery. If you want to grab a bite to eat before or after, it's only five to eight minutes from Wayback Burger, Rita's, Back Home Bagels, and China House. I'll definitely be back!

I would strongly recommend driving an suv to and from this place. There's a place where you'll literally have to drive through a creek to exit. That being said, it's a heavenly place to visit and prime area for hiking and physical training. Lots of hill climbing and incline. Many stunning photo opportunities and sights. Can't wait to return!

Our favorite was the covered bridge, though there was not any information on it; year built or anything of the sort. The trails were nice. Overall we enjoyed our visit there.

Great place for a picnic lunch after the zoo. Beautiful views, and kids can splash around in the water to cool off.

An excellent free park to hike around and enjoy nature. Saw lots of photographers meet clients here at the golden hour ( just before sunset). Restrooms and Maps available in the Visitors Center. Fun to see Buffalo 🦬. Buffalo , also called Bison, can jump 6 feet from a stand still. Luckily they are surrounded by tall fencing. Did you know Bison also have very long pointy tongues? More like a dragons than a persons.

We went to the Lehigh Valley Zoo. It was a nice trip even though the weather was drizzling. Recommended for anyone.

Driving through the water during our exit took me back over 40 years! Great animals. No penguins right now due to habitat renovations and the giraffes were already put away. The otter was so much fun to watch swimming for us... Almost as of putting on a show for the visitors!

What a beautiful peaceful place to enjoy the day. I will definitely be back. Great views, beautiful creek, love the covered bridge, and nice to see a herd of bison surviving.

The Winter Light Spectacular is fantastic. The lights are gorgeous, there's Santa, Disney princesses, the Grinch, hot chocolate (for the kiddos and the adults), and games and activities for the kids. Prices were pretty reasonable and I'll definitely return. Buy tickets in advance, though!

A lot of different trails. Right off 309, easy access. Trails are not súper scenic or dificult but still worth checking out.

Great location for a family day trip or picnic. Lots of space to find a spot to sit and enjoy the views. By the river are nice bbqs to use and tables. Can get busy by the water with families and pets. Get there early to get a nice spot and sit and enjoy the lazy river. Not deep and walkable up and down.

Always a good time going there. The long driveway in and out is fun. Good tacos at the food stand and lots of cool animals to see. Being back in the woods has beautiful scenery.

This place is THE place for mountain biking, there is trails for all skill ranges. Lots of climbing(but it's free FREE), and the way down makes it SO worth it. Mostly jumps and berms with some pump trails mixed around. Also, there are some small technical bits. Anyways, I travel from 2+ hours away just because of the quality and views this place provides. PS. Very open area not super covered by trees so where sunscreen, insect repellent, and don't forget glasses so nothing flies into your eyes!

On the blue trail now. It's neat because you can see the zoo from the top and you can see the animals that are on exhibit that you drive by. The hill is really steep.

Very scenic views. Great for hiking. Biking is very extreme. I'd recommend helmet protective gear.

I took my grandchild and we had a great time. The best part was being able to feed a giraffe. The penguins were also very active waddling around. Also need to mention how good the food was with the usual hamburger/hot dogs. However, I had a delicious Gyro which is unusual to find at a food stand.

Free area to drive through. Love the views. There are a lot of good fishing spots here and areas to picnic. They keep it clean, it’s really a beautiful spot. Leave it better than you found it!

👍👍 It is a bridge. This bridge is made of wood. This bridge is old. This bridge can hold at least one car. This is a bridge. It has a roof. Why am I rating a bridge? Why is this bridge an attraction on google maps? Why am I on Google maps rating a bridge of all things? This is a bridge.
