The
sole
purpose
of
our
trip
was
to
visit
Canada's
Wonderland
for
a
Haunt
night.
I
was
traveling
four
hours
from
home
with
6
teenagers,
5
boys
and
1
girl.
Since
the
Haunt
was
from
7:00
pm
to
midnight,
the
plan
was
to
arrive
at
the
hotel
at
around
6:00,
check
in,
drop
off
our
luggage
and
valuables
so
that
they
were
not
left
in
the
van
and
then
head
to
the
park.
I
used
Google
to
locate
hotels
close
to
the
park,
kid
friendly,
under
$150
per
room
since
I
had
to
get
two,
AND
most
importantly,
FREE
HOT
BREAKFAST.
For
anyone
with
teenage
boys,
you'll
recognize
the
importance
of
this
feature.
There
were
2-3
that
met
this
criteria,
however,
I
chose
Super
8
by
Wyndham
because
of
the
indoor
pool
with
the
slide.
After
a
late
night
at
the
park,
I
figured
that
we
could
get
a
good
night's
sleep,
get
up
to
a
nice
hot
breakfast
and
enjoy
some
time
in
the
pool
before
starting
the
journey
home.
The
first
red
flag
should
have
been
that
it
was
listed
at
$93/night
when
I
first
found
it
online.
Then,
the
next
day,
it
was
listed
at
$131/night
but
every
site,
including
the
Super
8
said
that
there
were
no
rooms
available
for
the
night
I
needed.
So
I
called
the
hotel
directly
the
day
before
our
trip
and
I
was
told
that
they
definitely
had
rooms
available
at
a
rate
of
$119/night.
I
verified
that
they
did
serve
breakfast.
Upon
arrival
at
about
6:30
pm,
I
was
told
that
the
restaurant
is
still
being
renovated
so
they
would
serve
breakfast
"TO
GO"
which
consisted
of
a
prepackaged
danish,
an
apple,
a
Nature
Valley
Trail
Mix
granola
bar
and
an
apple
juice.
This
is
more
of
a
snack
for
my
kids.
At
this
point,
I
considered
cancelling
and
going
to
another
location
but
we
were
running
out
of
time
until
the
park
opening.
We
put
our
things
in
the
rooms
which
were
very
recently
modernized.
Even
the
boys
agreed
that
they
were
"SICK".
For
those
of
you
who
don't
speak
teenager,
that
means
really
cool.
Upon
returning
to
the
hotel,
I
was
cold
and
looking
forward
to
a
nice
hot
cup
of
tea
so
I
asked
where
I
could
get
some
hot
water.
I
was
told
that
I
could
microwave
some
in
my
room.
Note,
they
had
a
coffee
station
with
thermal
carafes
of
coffee
and
tea
bags
available
but
no
water.
A
minor
disappointment.
The
next
morning
I
called
the
front
desk
to
find
out
about
the
pool
hours
and
I
was
told
that
they
have
not
had
a
pool
since
last
September
since
they
were
converting
to
a
Four
Points
Sheraton.
Between
that
and
the
bag
snack
excuse
for
a
breakfast,
I
was
left
with
regret
for
booking
this
hotel
since
my
kids
were
all
very
disappointed.
I
told
the
front
desk
clerk
about
my
disappointment
and
suggested
that
every
effort
be
made
to
update
the
information
online.
I
was
told
that
they
couldn't
correct
pictures
posted
by
visitors.
The
pictures
that
I
saw
were
professional
posted
on
Google
Maps
Amenities
link.
In
conclusion,
the
renovations
are
very
modern
and
upscale.
I
cannot
comment
on
the
restaurant.
I
think
it
might
have
been
better
for
them
to
work
out
a
deal
for
a
hot
breakfast
voucher
with
the
McDonald's
or
Tim
Horton's
that
are
literally
in
the
parking
lot
rather
than
serve
the
inadequate
bag
'breakfast.
