I WILL NEVER RETURN HERE! The noise is so annoying and the disappearing items is a big issue. Spent almost $250 for a special occasion one night stay here. Upon arrival the staff were friendly but unfortunately thats where the positives end. The hotel had large groups of families with young children from a hockey tournament staying here. Everywhere you turned there were groups of young children unsupervised, running around screaming in the hallways (even after 11pm- no getting a quiet sleep here), in the pool and gym area making a huge mess and long lines for the elevators with the children going up and down constantly. If youre coming here to relax dont bother it will be impossible. The walls are paper thin and you hear children screaming, running, slamming doors the entire time. Now onto the bigger issue which ruined the experience altogether. My boyfriend forgot his coat hanging in the closet. We didnt realize for 4 days because the weather changed he was wearing a different jacket, but once he wanted to wear it and couldnt find it we immediately went back in our steps and realized it was at the hotel. Upon contacting the hotel the staff said nothing was brought in the lost & found. I asked if the room could be checked now, perhaps it was still hanging in the closet. The staff refused to check the room and said theres been other guests since we stayed and theres no way the cleaner would miss the coat when the room was cleaned after we checked out. I agreed there is no way the coat would be missed and blaming other guests after us is irrelevant since the cleaner would have been the first one in the room after us. So where did the coat vanish to? Staff rushed to get me off the phone. I spoke to the manager the next day who implied we dont know where we left the coat and was pretty useless. He asked for a description of the coat and said he would call me back and hasnt called back. Pay attention to the other google reviews another person just a month ago left a speaker behind and when he called immediately they claimed it couldn't be located. Anything you forget here is clearly stolen. No respect for their customers and very poor customer service. I expect much better service and honesty, especially at rooms at this price. I absolutely believe they stole the coat and did nothing to investigate this or try to help us. Save your money go somewhere else, this place is a giant headache.

Had a terrible experience. No sleep as a sports team was allowed to be loud well past 1 am. People were drinking outside the licensed area, very drunk clientele banging on random doors. Complaints to the front desk yielded no resolution. One elevator was broken, going on over a month, so delays in the morning was excessive. There was pizza in the pool. Parking is tight when hotel is fully booked. Edit: Even their generic answer to this review shows the lack of empathy, be aware of this typical generic response to issues, complaints, comments.

I would not recommend this hotel even it’s a renovated hotel. 1) Don’t be fooled by it’s appearance. The vanity door in the guest room was not secured and fell right on my husband’s bare foot when he brushing teeth without any pulling, he literally sat on the floor for 5 mins and his foot got swollen right away. The door was heavy and we had no idea why the door is not secured. Thankfully it was not my kids who were injured, it was seriously dangerous. That open space being left with 4 sharp screws which is dangerous for kids too. What being even more ridiculous was the front desk staff said “actually you are not suppose to open that door” when we reported the case…… so was it our fault?? such a nice manner…. 2) The hotel manger Anita Shu only respond those 5 star review and never respond ours, even when we wrote her an email. Really poor customer service attitude. 3) Their staff was not familiar with Marriott’s reward policy and gave us misleading information which cause us didn’t get any points of our stays. 4) cold water, deep and small swimming pool, not suitable for little kids. Overall: I would NOT go back to this hotel again nor recommend this hotel to anyone. It was the worst Marriott hotel we have ever stayed.

Absolutely disgusting hotel. The filters in my wall unit where clogged solid with dust and dirt. Hallways and elevators had garbage and food all over them the entire stay(never cleaned) The pool water was cloudy and brown. Had to walk 2 blockes in order to find parking in minus 20 degree weather. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Good location, pretty close to freeways. The property seems to be a newer build with better room finishes. I would have loved to see at least a couple of 16oz water bottles complimentary in the room. However, the front desk team was accommodating in providing me with a request.

This was my experiencing during my time. The walls may be too thin ( or at least not enough sound proofing ) so it can be noisy. Anyways, place looks to be recently renovated - looks new - front desk staff does recognize Marriott Bonvoy Elite status and provides accordingly ( eg Food/Drinks credits or points, etc ) - Enhance internet speeds is download 100Mbps / upload 100Mbps ( sorry did not test non-enhance internet speeds ) - For those that are wondering, no Ethernet Networking jacks, WiFi Only - For those that forget your phone power charger, the night table and desk does have USB port for charging, just remember to bring along the necessary cables/cords - Free Parking - Housekeeping is provided every 3 days - 24 hour mini-mart. Overall for my stay and needs, it was excellent! This review period is for 1st quarter of 2022.

Halls were very noisy with misbehaving children (a hockey team). Rooms were refreshed and clean. Breakfast was quite good.

Was there last weekend when there was a SNOWSTORM and the parking lot was NOT adequately shovelled (the main route was cleared but they did NOT shovel "most" of the parking spots. You couldn't park unless you can shovel the spot yourself. LOTS of driving customers had to dig out themselves It's RIDICULOUS) !! Other Comments: Rooms (excellent), Elevator (only 1 of 2 works, had to wait 15 mins one time), Customer Service (2 stars, depends on the staff, some were JUST OKAY while others were REALLY UNHELPFUL).

Decent rooms, no microwave in the rooms and the TVs are not ‘smart TVs’ in that they have a custom program set up on it to prevent you from doing anything other than the Marriott programming (YouTube and Netflix) without help from staff. Location is alright, it’s a 40 minute drive to downtown unless you take the toll route, which will take 30 minutes. AC’s turn off automatically and don’t turn on until you turn it back on, causing it to get hot in the rooms at night unless you set the AC to a temperature that it can’t lower the rooms overall temperature to (20 Celsius approx.). Hotel rooms have a door between them that ensures you hear anything going on in the room next to you, even the most private moments that others shouldn’t be privy to. This caused me to wake up during the nights due to noise. Only 1 washer and dryer and guests will hog it from you and get belligerent about it, upside is that the hotel next door is also a Marriott and they can accommodate you with their better laundry machines if other guests are hogging the machines at the Courtyard hotel. Seems this location attracts unsavoury types, but the staff are accommodating when they act out.

It was Great experience with the two-days stay! Although it was located just beside the major streets, it was quite! The room was spacious and clean, and newly renovated! Front desk staff Cheryl was very kind and professional! Really like the thoughtful idea to put a one-time use plastic bag on the outside of the TV remote control! The breakfast from Starbucks was good but it was the only choice they offered even though there were some other choices on the board. But was told it is not available at this time! Which was OK. Will definitely come back. Highly recommended.

Hotel in general is clean, staff are friendly. In my one week stay, room has plumbing issues twice and maintenance had to come both times to fix them (very poor flowing toilet). Generally speaking, not a bad hotel, but they lose points from me because of the plumbing issues, lack of food offerings for those that can't leave the hotel, and no microwave in the room. Instead, the microwave is available downstairs in the lobby area. A few times I went to look at food offerings and the fridge shelves were empty and not restocked. The Starbucks area isn't a full Starbucks (FYI) so you'll only find hot coffee offerings and some breakfast products but very limited and overpriced. That Starbucks area is also only open during limited hours in the morning. There is also no free breakfast at the hotel, which is another reason they lose points. If they can adjust those things, I think they'd be in better shape. Additionally, they informed me when I checked in that they only do housekeeping one to two times a week and to give them advance notice if it was needed. Wasn't a huge thing for me personally, but it might be for some of you reading this.

I hope someone in management is reviewing this chat because I will never come back to the property. I requested foam pillows before arrival and was told they would be there upon arrive I requested again after arrival and a third time after they were not delivered. I had to go to the store and buy foam pillows because I have an allergy to down pillows and requested them three times and never received any. The room was not clean upon arrival as well as multiple common areas I have viewed during my visit. I have asked for the correct number or towels as people in the room and have not received them unless I get it from the cart in person. Today I requested four new towels above and only received two. The service and cleanliness of this property are poor at best, I have stayed here in the past but I am very disappointed with this visit.

Very nice and clean hotel for a great weekend getaway. Unfortunately, there was a power outage and we were left with no power for the night until around 2AM. We did receive the option to cancel but it was very inconvenient making us try to find a hotel last minute, especially if checking in later in the night. I wish they were able to provide more accommodations/compensation/discounts, considering the Marriott is a huge hotel chain. We reserved for a king bed, but we got 2 double beds which was fine, but unexpected considering what we requested. Also, our room was not restocked with towels, tissues, cups, etc. We had to go to front desk to restock considering there was no power to call and ask them for it. We totally understood the power outage was out of their control but we just expected more from the Marriott. Conveniently located to many different restaurants/malls so we were able to keep busy while away from the hotel.

Can’t believe this hotel is part of the Marriott group. My aunt was a loyalty member of the Marriott Hotel group. She came to visit us in Markham Toronto, so I recommended this hotel for her to stay because it was part of the Marriott group of hotels and the location was very convenient. We heard it was recently renovated so it should be a pleasant place to stay. However, it was the exact opposite. She booked a handicap room for my Uncle with disabilities. The room did not even have all the items that a regular room should have (eg., complimentary bottled water, toilet tissue and box tissue). When she called the front desk to ask for these items, the girls at the front desk was extremely rude and not helpful. My aunt had to beg for them because the girl told her she wasn’t supposed to get any bottled water. The things she needed was delivered to room after a very long time. Another ridiculous incident happened when my aunt asked the front desk to send someone to make her room. The front desk operator asked her if it was a must? Although we know that they do not offer room make up service on a daily basis, but that was the third day that they stayed there. And they actually stayed for a total of 1 week so, having their room cleaned on the third day wasn’t too much to ask for. Actually, the handicap room did not have all the aids and support that a handicap room should have. For example, the shower was a bit high and the shampoo and soap detergent bottle dispensers were hanged at the back of the shower. It was very difficult for my uncle to reach and access. The worst part of all was the hygiene of the room. My aunt saw a giant spider in the shower while she was taking her bath. This was totally unacceptable. Hopefully, their management team can look into this matter seriously and make some improvements to their service and cleanliness of the room. Otherwise, we will never take the chance to stay there again and we will also share our bad experiences with our friends.

Great location, the hotel is clean and well taken care of very modern. Staff is friendly, service is great and restaurant/bar on site. Rooms are great with the exception of the noise cancelation. The people above us we're loud and making noise all night which sucked, could also hear people going in and out of the stairwell all night. Besides that would recommend staying here to anyone.

Had to book a room in Toronto for a funeral . Never stayed here always Sheraton across the road . This is my new favourite hotel. We will return . Front check in to check out with the same staff. Our four day stay was stress free! Smooth check in check out and exceptional service from all staff during our stay . Cheryl Li was who checked us in and out . Thank you for being so kind and sweet to us , really helped the mood for our stay in hotel to be stress free.

I’m the customer of Courtyard all the time. This location just renovated, but doesn’t feel very comfy. Staying for 2 nights, only the Indian lady on the morning shift of 9/2 is very helpful and so nice. Other staff just being polite. The location is easy to reach all restaurants that’s only the plus side. For me, I won’t like to go back next time.

The hotel has great location. Stayed here for 9 nights and got upgraded to king suite which was really nice. The people from front desk are very helpful. But the housekeeping here needs a lot of improvement 😅 had 3 housekeepings over the 9 nights stay and they never did things right…we asked for housekeeping at 1:30pm but the cleaning lady insisted at 12:00pm reason being they have to go downstairs even though I told her a few times we have to use the bathroom now. Second time they took away our person items but didn’t pick up the trash….third time they took away the body washer bottle 😅We have stayed in a lot of Marriott’s in US and Canada and this never happened to us before.

The best experience yet. Amazing staff!! Leo and Orlando and both of the front desk girls, from whom I did not get the names, were so helpful and kind to me and my kids. My car died on me and they went above and beyond to help me. Cannot thank them enough!!! Besides the stay went extremely smooth. This hotel and their staff deserve more than 5 stars!!! Thank you!!

We stayed for the night this weekend and even though the hotel was a decent, clean. The elevator was only one available one operating and the hotel had a rugby tournament teams staying so inconvenient to say the least for all guests. Everything was smooth throughout the night. However day of check out. We went out for breakfast and came back 11:30 to our rooms to get ready to check out at 12 to find out that our cards don’t work and they kicked people out. Should’ve read the reviews prior as this seems to be a reoccurring situation for most guests. I have never in my life seen a hotel check people out before the check out time. Or even After the check out time — and I stay at MANY hotels. Including lots of Marriott Bonvoy hotels. I would 100% understand if cards automatically disable at 12 pm. But no. This was 30 mins before. With all our belongings in the room. We had to get house keeping to open our own room for us. This happened to another family on our same floor with children….. the housekeepers apologized that this happened. Why should they apologize for managements incompetence ? We will definitely not be staying there again. Felt very unwelcoming being checked out before even check out time.

I stayed here Nov 24-27, 2023. My wife and I got bit by bed bugs. initially we thought it was gnats until we both got bite marks, on my forehead, stomach, and my wife’s hands. After doing some research when we got home it was determined that they were indeed bed bug bites. We also found a dirty sock with dog hairs on it in the room. There was also smell of smoke from through the vents from the adjacent room. I’ve been staying at the Marriott brand for a long time, but this particular Marriott is extremely poor. Now I have to hope I didn’t bring any bed bugs home. I will never do a Marriott hotel ever again. Update: called the hotel to inform them, front desk placed me on hold for 10 minutes and said someone will call me today. Still no call yet. I feel bad for the next person using that room.

This hotel is very nice and clean. It looks newly renovated. The location is very convenient. Easy access to many super markets and restaurants and shopping malls nearby. Will definitely reconsider it if we come to Markham again next time.

Rooms with adjoining rooms are very noisy. You can hear your neighbor very easily through the doors. Otherwise the rooms are nicely maintained and comfortable. Hotel amenities are convenient and well kept.

The room was pretty neat and clean with all the amenities ! Not to mention the comfy beds. Everyone is super friendly and nice.Welcoming and helpful. Something I would suggest is to have more room for breakfast space . The 14th floor dine in was pretty small to accommodate a large group of people.

This is nice little hotel in Markham. The staff is always friendly! The hotel values their clients and always have some kind of snack and cold water. Microwaves are available on the ground floor too. With a small cafe on the main floor, it's easy to grab a quick bite or snack.

Gets the job done. Nothing special and nothing wrong with it. I only go to Markham for business and this hotel is a great choice. It is within walking distance of the office, it has a gym and cafe for breakfast and newly added bar to grab a drink and food at the end of the day. The rooms are modern and clean and the staff is very friendly. This is my first choice for hotels in Markham.

Fairly standard Courtyard by Marriott hotel which is a positive to know you will be getting a comfortable stay. The staff are very friendly and professional. Great location by many Asian malls such as First Markham Place and Times Square. Lots of wonderful restaurants and bubble tea shops close by, ideal for a food tour.

You get what you pay for. With the exception of the staff it was hotel I sayed at Marriott but still pretty good. Even though the staff very professional and kind, the quality of towels, shampoo, conditioner ect. was as high quality as I expected but still okish. I generally have good experiences with Marriott as a holder of one of their high end card, not premium. But I stayed there because it was the cheapest hotel Marriott Hotel, since I have the credit card, in the area I wasn't traveling just needed a place to stay for one night for private reasons.

What a horrible experience!!! Would not ever stay here again! Booked two rooms for two nights so I paid $1080. Asked for clean towels on day two, was told I was “not eligible”. Staff was rude! Went to get breakfast on check out day, came back to room (long before check out time) and they locked us out of room with our belongings inside it. Do yourself a favour and don’t stay here!! I have stayed in a lot of hotels, this wins the prize for worse experience.

if you have business meetings, this hotel is perfect it’s definitely not a four-star hotel, but the amenities are solid and the service is excellent. The beds are really comfortable with good water pressure in the showers not to mention plenty of space to accommodate your luggage. The keyless entry is very convenient as well. This particular location is pretty fun because it’s in the heart of Markham, which is where all the big Asian Plaza’s and restaurants are so if you like Asian cuisine and want to try something different every single night you will not be disappointed.

This is a dated property Small style bistro bar is not ideal for breakfast and it is rather expensive for what you are receiving. They do serve alcohol. Rooms need a refresh During our stay the water was off one full day and they began elevator upgrade the next. Or ideal, or communicated when I booked.

Looks like newly renovated, large room has marble work desk and many fast charging USB (3.1A) ports around desk and bed sides, shower and toilet area are stone tile and black marble countertops simple but modern. Definitely recommended and will come back again.

Amazing staff! I was welcomed with a nice cup of ice coffee upon checking in. Not sure if it was a slow day...but front desk decided to upgrade my room! Got the in-room jacuzzi which I decided to try. Was pleasantly content with the room and enjoyed the balcony as well. If I were to critic the stay: rooms a bit outdated and probably need a full modern renovation/some of the jets in the jacuzzi weren’t functional. I would still recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

One of the best 3-star hotels we've ever stay. It's been recently renovated so the decoration and the vibe are quite modern and practical. We hate bathtub and luckily this place has shower. Balcony is awesome with fantastic views. The sofa is great for a nap. Extremely quite at night in the sense that we can't hear anything outside our room while the hotel is fully booked based on all the cars parked outside. And did I mention the location? 15 min drive to all authentic Chinese restaurants in North Toronto so it's a happy problem for us everyday to decide which one to go with. Food delivery is also super convenient. Nothing we can nitpick. 10/10 experience.

The hotel itself was ok. The room was nice and clean. The staff was great, we needed blankets for the pullout couch and they brought them right up. But a few things like, there is tape holding what looks like lights that don't work in place, in the elevator. The one floor mat has a rectangle cut out of it and instead of getting a new mat they just put electricial tape on the floor where the mat was cut out lol I was a little annoyed that the pool was not in service when the website didn't say anything about it. We were allowed to use the hotel behinds pool but it wasn't cleaned once in the 3 days we were there. Also the hot tub was closed down with caution tape around it. I posted a picture of the bandaids that were there everyday. In their defense the guy at the front desk was busy every time we were there.

The room was clean and large. It appeared recently renovated. The staff were kind and helpful. The only complaint is the noise. You can hear through the walls and ceiling. It was very loud in the room next to us but we were lucky they got quiet around 10pm.

Don't I feel like a fool! Since 1999 I have been a loyal Marriott customer. I truly believed that my loyalty to Marriott meant something. However, over the years, I have noticed a sharp decline in the quality of your services. It started when Marriott replaced the 24 hours a day coffee service in the lobby with low-quality coffee pods in my room. Since that day, the following services and complementary upgrades have also disappeared. The front desk has not offered me a complimentary room upgrade in years. The welcome gift at check-in has disappeared, along with other complementary amenities for gold and platinum elite members. You can only get your room serviced every other day, no matter how much you complain to the front desk. You can forget about the clean towels and replacement coffee pods. Finally, on my latest trip, I opened the closet to retrieve the plastic bag used for the dry cleaning, only to find this note, "Dear valued customer, we no longer offer dry cleaning service, but there is a coin laundry near the lobby." Your rewards programs have become nothing more than sales fluff. After more than 430 days of staying at Marriott hotels, I have decided that I have been bamboozled long enough. I will stay at the Holiday Inn Express on my next business trip. My colleague stayed there the same week I stayed at the Marriott. He had access to 24 hours per day complimentary coffee. His room was cleaned daily, and his stay was two-thirds the price of Marriott.

We were on the 4th floor at the furthest end from elevators. The view was excellent looking over the city lights. There are connecting rooms there. I felt clean and comfortable. Overall a great room. Sorry I forgot to take pics before making part messy where the huge TV was located.

Had the best service, great meal, and amazing coffee at this Marriott Courtyard. Cheryl was absolutely amazing, very friendly and courteous. She genuinely cared about her guests and was a joy to be around. She was very knowledgeable about the hotel and the area and had answers to just any questions you may ask her. Dilpa at the restaurant made great food and was friendly. The moment you walk into this hotel, you feel welcomed by the terrific and professional staff and the relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend this hotel and restaurant to anyone visiting Markham.
