The logging museum trail is a short, easy trail near the east gate of Algonquin Park. The trail has replicas of logging camps from various time periods. You can go inside the buildings and get a closer look at what life was like back then. There’s also machines, trucks and a locomotive that come from our logging past. There’s period information posts, as well as an interpretative guide book. The logging museum trail is also a great spot for wildlife viewing, especially birds in the winter months. It’s a great place to spend an hour or so.

One of the best attractions on Highway60. I recently visited the Logging Museum in Algonquin along with my son, and I must say it was a unique experience. The museum provides a comprehensive look into the history of logging in the region. The exhibits were well-curated, on a trail and I learned a lot about the industry's evolution. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, which added to the overall experience. It's a great place to explore and gain insight into the past. I appreciate the effort put into preserving this important part of our history. I highly recommend visiting if you have an interest in history or just want to learn something new. Keep up the good work, Logging Museum! I'll soon return next time with my parents

It starts from showcasing the history of logging and how it evolved over the time here at Algonquin. Next you get to know the same history through movie as well which then brings you back to the history of logging where you can see the real wood structures of how loggers used to live and work there. They had around 10 structures and each step you get to see how it evolved till date. We find it very interesting and learned the history. Washroom facilities was good and clean. We do recommend this museum visit. August 2024 Thank you

Visitors can explore reconstructed logging camps, see antique logging equipment, and learn about the challenges and innovations in this industry. The museum is also set against a beautiful natural backdrop, making it an ideal destination for those interested in history and the outdoors. Overall, the Algonquin Logging Museum is a unique and educational experience that helps preserve and share the history of logging in this picturesque wilderness area. It's a must-visit for history enthusiasts and those looking to connect with the heritage of Algonquin Park. Definitely, your trip to Algonquin is not completed, without visiting the logging museum.

Neat experience to learn about local logging history on a trail. Visitor center was not open but you can still do the trail. Trail is mostly wheelchair friendly with a few hills. Peaceful and serene setting. Great place for kids.

I hadn't been to this museum in many years. Brought my kids and they loved it. It's very interactive with many buildings to walk in and experience history. The mechanisms are particularly impressive they used for logging, and the old steam locomotive and logging boat are both amazing. You can walk all through the boat from top to engine room, very interesting. The building and short introduction video are a good place to start before touring the trail. Great for kids and interesting for parents.

Wasn't sure what to expect going in. Myself and my sons were blown away by this place. Just awesome, a must when you're in the park! This might sound a little crazy but the three of us possibly witnessed paranormal activity while on the old steam boat. I'm curious if the staff has seen or heard from visitors of any possible things in the past. Staff, feel free to reach out if you want.

Full disclosure. I have traversed this museum/hike since I was 8. That was 53 years ago... And, I still go! We go when we are winter camping and this was the first time in a long while that the museum was open. Well with your time to find out how logging in Algonquin built much of Europe and the harsh conditions that the loggers endured. It's very well done... And even if you want to skip the museum parts, it's a lovely 1Km walk. No hills and very flat. I would say it is wheel chair friendly, but don't quote me on that..
