Dr. Bryan Chan Dental Clinic

Dental clinic

😠 Dr Bryan Chan and his team are very unprofessional, inexperienced & impolite. I strongly don't recommend going to see them. For context, I've gotten my braces & two tooth fillers (not cavities, but actual parts of the tooth filled--similar to what happens after chipping) To begin, the receptionist... Paid the deposit to get the crown moulding done but they failed the first time. I had to go back for a second one (another needle, another pain). They were supposed to call me back it's been 3 weeks now I haven't heard from them - understand it is COVID-19 time, but at least a phone call? Receptionist is frustrated like the other comment by Daniel Chang, I start to get worried... I just called this morning and mail box is full - now, I am frustrated like the receptionist...

Horrible service by the receptionist, she calls and ask to reschedule multiple over the years and she gets frustrated. I had come back 2nd time for a filling that came off. Switching dentist mainly due to the horrible experience with the receptionist.

Rude reception, terrible dental work. They used to be good, but now it seems like they don't even care about the patients anymore. I had my teeth cleaned very violently and ended up with a lot of blood coming out of my teeth and gums. Dont come here.

I've been Dr Bryan Chan's patient for almost 18 years and it has been not-bad. However, i noticed the significant quality drop since the covid pandemic and i think many staff left. Now the dental cleaning quality isn't consistent anymore. I will find a new place for my family's dental needs.

I have never had such an awful dentist experience in my life. The unprofessionalism started even before my visit when the receptionist called me 15 minutes before my scheduled time and asked why I wasn't already there. I then go in for my teeth cleaning and they shine a bright light in my face, then when I politely ask for goggles they become extremely annoyed. The doctor immediately starts stabbing my gums and cleaning my teeth violently. I have had my teeth cleaned dozens of times and it has never hurt that much; my mouth filled with blood. At this point there were tears coming out of my eyes and when I politely asked why it hurt so much the doctor got impatient and told me off. Every time i flinched he sighed out of annoyance. In the end he spoke to me in an incredibly judgemental tone. I have never met a health professional with such little compassion for a patient and I am absolutely enraged.

I've been going here for about 15 years now and I've always had good experience. Dr. Chan charges reasonable prices and doesn't say you have issues with your teeth when you don't. They had some change in staff and had some ok dental hygienists but recently I had one that was very good and took her time. They also always floss your teeth for you (which no other dentist that I've seen does that), and they give fluoride that actually taste good. They also call you in on time.

I am with Dr Chan for about three years. He always will get his job done. today, I took my three years old daughter to see Dr Chan and the dental hygienist for her first dental check up. it was challenging at the beginning, but the staff's are so patient and helpful that it went well eventually. And found out my daughter had a cavity in her upper tooth. and got referred to see specialist due to her age. I would say it's nice place. the only one star deducted is because I found some of the price if not very compatable with other dental clinic.

Dr Bryan Chan and his team are very unprofessional, inexperienced & impolite. I strongly don't recommend going to see them. For context, I've gotten my braces & two tooth fillers (not cavities, but actual parts of the tooth filled--similar to what happens after chipping) To begin, the receptionist is very rude--it is extremely difficult to schedule appointments and she gives you a very hard time. She gets frustrated easily & she never seemed like she acc wanted to help me. I always left the dental office feeling like a bother. Not to mention, the wait time was always one hour more. Moving on to the actual dental experience... After my braces, I got fillers added onto two of my smaller-sized teeth so they would be normal-sized (I hope that makes sense). Everything was A-OK, but as I started to whiten my teeth, the original colour of the fillings no longer matched so I got them re-done. Dr.Chan re-did my fillings and made me a new retainer--everything was good. However right when I left, I realized that one of the tooth that got a filling was very slanted so I went back. This was an issue to me because the slant was very noticeable, and the fillings I had before were straight so...there's no reason for them not to be straight this time, right? I also thought it was unfair that I paid $170-180 for the fillings + new retainers out of my own pocket as a university student working part-time. When I went back a couple mins later, the receptionist did not even want to book me in--she made me feel invalid and that my problem wasn't a real one. After I waited another hour, Dr.Chan seemed annoyed, but nonetheless fixed it--and extremely quickly too. I can tell he rushed it/I questioned if he even did a proper job. I later realized that he didn't, when the extra part of the filling chipped off. Chipped. Right. Off. :) Also after he added to my filling, I asked if I had to get a new retainer mold. I thought it made sense, because he added more filling onto my tooth, and so the previous mold would not match my teeth anymore. He said it's OK, so I believed him as he was a "professional." Once I got the retainer a couple weeks later, it fit but the tooth he added more onto had a lot of pressure and was uncomfortable--exactly what I was worried about. Keeping it short, I went back & Dr.Chan fixed the part of the filling that had fallen off. Check. Then, and this is where it really goes down, I ask him about my retainer. He said he put it on for me already, and that it fit. I told him about the pressure of the retainer & the basic idea of how adding more to the tooth will obviously make the retainer not fit. He did not understand... When I continued, he started to raise his voice/have an aggressive tone & even asked "Well what do you want me to do?" which I thought was VERY unprofessional. As a dentist, aren't you supposed to have the solutions/not create the problems? When I told him that I simply wanted a new retainer that actually fit, he said I would have to repurchase it. He kept saying that the retainer fit. I was really upset, but I tried the retainer for a night--maybe he was right and the pressure on the tooth wasn't a legitimate problem. I woke up multiple times last night because I was feeling so much pressure/the blood-flow thumping in my gums & when I woke up and took the retainers off, that whole tooth was extremely sensitive. Touching it with my finger hurt, brushing my teeth hurt & I couldn't even eat all day. Ridiculous. After doing some research, many sites said that if your retainers no longer fit for any reason, get it re-fitted to avoid problems like killing the nerve of the tooth/creating dental problems in the future...some scary stuff. Now, I'm looking for a new dentist to get new retainers that actually fit. As for this Dr.Chan's dental office, I do not plan on going back. Ever. This was one of the most stressful experiences I've had & I hope this helps people from having to experience poor dental service going forward. There are so many other dentistries out there, the options are limitless. Cheers!

The wait time is ridiculous, more than an hour waiting time at there with appointment. when Dr Chan checking my moms teeth he is chatting with his assistant about travelling and food. Not professional! Wasting time and money! The dental implant he did was awful, need to come back redo for couple times. Not recommended!!

I have been a patient of Dr Chan for many years, and have been very satisfied with his service. Bonnie was my hygienist who is both dedicated and thorough. Although I found each cleaning a painful experience, I respect her service attitude and have remained her client. In general, happy to be a patient at this clinic. But I was very disappointed in my last two visits. The first of these was a dental cleaning, which was not done by Bonnie, but by a new dentist whom I have never met. They spraying me with a face full of water without apology. He took X-rays but did not provide feedback. It was only after I asked that he said I would need 2 Gum Line Fillings. My filling appointment was arranged for after Dr. Chan’s return from his holidays. I got to the office only to be told there was a mixup with the schedule, and I had to wait for over an hour to be seen. Once inside the exam room, Dr. Chan immediately asked me how many fillings I wanted done. How would I know? I said that that should have been detailed in my file from the previous visit. But then he said there was not enough time to do all that’s required, so would only perform five on this visit. Afterwards I had a really sore gum on one tooth, which had a small cut and looked red and I went back to see Dr. Chan who said he didn’t work on that tooth, and implied that this tooth was probably red and sore prior to his appointment. He then sent me home. No mention of how he could help in any way. Just not interested. This is not proper professional conduct, and I am really really disappointed.
