I've been visiting this location for the past four years and I really enjoyed my experiences here in general, but be very careful when signing personal training contracts with the company. I'm sad to give it a low rating for the following reason: My personal training contract was from late 2019 to September 2020, and I have been using my sessions according to the frequency per the contract. Due to gym closure, I still have 1/3 of sessions unused one year after the expiry date. When I inquired whether I could receive a refund for the unused portion, I was treated poorly. The front desk staff asked me to contact the membership service, who in turn asked me to inquire in person at my gym branch. They have been kicking me around without trying to help at all. I understand that due to the pandemic, the gym likely suffered immense losses. If it is difficult for the company to issue a refund due to its liquidity issue, I accept alternative arrangement such as converting the unused fund into credits for other services. But the staff's attitude was terrible when I interacted with them regarding the issue. After spending over $10k in this location, it's disheartening being treated this way. I do not wish to add stress to both parties especially during this period of time, but I truly believe the company's handling of this issue is unethical. I have filed a formal complaint with a government agency, and if it cannot be resolved this way, I will take the company to court. I am still open to resolving the issue with the company directly, and I hope we can find a solution in good faith without paying our hard earned money to lawyers.

During this Covid era, it is no longer open 24 hours/day. Otherwise my experience was pretty spectacular. Staff were very friendly and very accommodating and very helpful in directing me around the place since there are multiple sections to it. I originally thought that having multiple sections would be non-ideal but actually it made the crowd seem less crowded and for these Covid times was actually quite a relief. In every section that I went and visited, there were staff busy cleaning up the equipment and putting back weights! Definitely one of the more bougie GoodLife gyms I have been to. Pretty solid collection of gym equipment. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Believe me when I say I hate working out 😀 but this gym has made it easy on me. It located in a very convenient spot, very close to public transport and restaurants etc. It also has a free parking It's really big and they always keep it clean. They're open 24 hours. I didn't have any close interaction with staff but they seem really nice. Whatever you may need to work out is there and also there is a pool and sauna and massage chairs.

Cons: My experience with MILAD K (PT) was extremely disappointing. Not only did I fail to see any tangible results, but the trainer’s lack of knowledge was evident throughout our sessions. Their unprofessional and rude behavior made the entire process unpleasant. It’s disheartening to invest time and money into a service that falls short on every aspect. I strongly advise against choosing this trainer, as his incompetence and disrespectful demeanor create a wholly unsatisfactory training environment. My experience with the personal trainer manager BABAK (Bobby) was unpleasant . Initially, he assured me guest access, but once the contract was signed, his demeanor took a negative. I strongly advise future clients to exercise caution when finalizing contracts with him—insist on written documentation for any verbal commitments. Potential clients, take note: ensure everything discussed is clearly stated if he makes any verbal commitments. The gym’s ventilation is subpar, impacting the overall experience. While equipment is adequate, the lack of proper ventilation diminishes satisfaction. Improvement in this aspect is crucial for a more comfortable and enjoyable workout environment. Pros: Despite the other personal trainer my personal training experience with NESTA has been exceptional. Every session with my trainer has been enjoyable, filled with creative and effective workouts. His dedication to pushing me towards my goals is evident, and he genuinely cares about his clients’ progress. I wholeheartedly recommend his services. He’s a gem in the gym, bringing both expertise and a positive, motivating energy. With his guidance, Grateful to have found such a committed and skilled trainer! The divisional fitness manager at GoodLife headquarter (ADAM S) has been a game-changer. I received incredible support from headquarter that gym management couldn’t provide. It’s refreshing to find individuals genuinely caring about customers’ happiness. Kudos to GoodLife for having dedicated professionals who prioritize customer satisfaction.

Regrettably, my recent experience at Good Life Gym, specifically at this location, has left me deeply disappointed. I visited the gym with the intention of selecting a personal trainer to help me achieve my fitness goals. However, during this process, I encountered issues related to privacy and misrepresentation. A staff member initially introduced himself as the manager, but it later became apparent that he was the assistant manager. He also fabricated a false narrative about me and shared it with other members of Good Life. Babak, the assistant manager of Good Life ( personal training part ), who took it upon himself to call other members and share the imaginary story he had created in their minds about me. These actions have caused me significant distress. These actions have not only disregarded my privacy but have also made my experience very challenging. To the point where I am considering canceling my personal training sessions. It is my belief that Good Life should take this matter seriously and address it promptly to ensure a positive experience for all its members. I recommend implementing improved transparency and security measures, such as camera and voice recording systems, to prevent such situations from arising in the future. It is crucial that members' rights and privacy be respected. I hope that Good Life takes the necessary actions to rectify this situation, as it has the potential for legal consequences. This experience has been far from satisfactory, and I trust that the gym will address these issues to maintain its reputation

Why one star less? Later.. but first, I started personal training consultation with Bobby and he sounds very knowledgeable and experienced! We did 1-2 days of workout and he’s really good at understanding a person’s strengths and weaknesses and works towards it. He also breaks down nutrition and styles of training. After my consultation I started personal training with Shabnam and even though she’s new, she clearly knows what she’s doing. She immediately understood what kind of workouts would work best for me and I love the pace of the training. Before I come in, she’s ready with notes/schedules so that we don’t waste any time! She’s super friendly and gives out a great motivating vibe. One star less because the pool was pretty dirty. There was hair floating everywhere, and I spotted lots of green patches at the bottom corners of the pool. A lot of people were swimming without caps so I think that should be mandated for hygiene.

Cons: - The wifi is abysmal and you need it because most locations in the building blocks cell signal - The gym temperature at the second, two floor section is too hot, they need to increase the AC - "24 hour Personal Trainer Only Area" - This should not be a thing at any goodlife. Its like paying for a membership just to be segregated and not be able to use 1/3 of the gym. At least make it certain times only and open it to everyone when not in use. - Lack of a Nordic bench or machine Pros: - Pretty clean - Good range of machines

I have been coming to this location regularly since Nov of 2022. Today I came in and there was a different staff member at the reception. I scanned my card and grabbed a towel - this guy asks in a loud voice if I have towel service. I said yes I do otherwise I wouldn't be getting a towel. He didn't believe and he looked into the system to confirm. He even asked if I just recently added the service. I told him have the ultimate membership and I'm paying $92/month. The clueless guy didn't even offer an apology - he should have a better way of implementing the towel service for those who pay extra for it. His rude demeanor doesn't sit well, as I am paying for all the services including group classes. He should be trained on how to provide proper customer service. Pic of the towel service he thought I didn't pay for🙄

I recently joined this gym and have had an amazing experience so far. The facilities are top-notch and the staff is always willing to help. However, the real standout for me has been my personal trainer, Shahrooz. He is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled, and has helped me make great progress towards my fitness goals. He has also been very supportive and encouraging throughout the whole process. I highly recommend Shahrooz to anyone looking for a great personal trainer. One area that can be improved is the personal training session area during peak hours. It can get quite crowded and can make it difficult to get a good workout in. I also want to give special thanks to Bobby for his help and support during my time at the gym. He has always been willing to assist me with any questions or concerns I had. Overall, I give this gym 4 out of 5 stars. The only reason it's not a perfect 5 is because there is always room for improvement. But I am extremely satisfied with my experience and would recommend this gym to anyone looking to get in shape.

I recently had a comprehensive body analysis at Goodlife Fitness as a step towards getting a personal trainer, and my experience was exceptional. The manager, Bobby, provided an incredibly thorough and informative session. He covered numerous aspects such as nutrition, body analysis, and posture, delving deep into each topic with expertise and clarity. Bobby's dedication to ensuring I was fully informed about all the elements essential for reaching my fitness goals was remarkable. His approach was not just professional but also personalized, making me feel genuinely supported and guided in my fitness journey. This experience has left me feeling more confident and motivated to achieve my goals. A big thank you to Bobby and the Goodlife Fitness team for going above and beyond!

I started my fitness journey with GoodLife gym back in Jan'23 and I must say I got my greatest motivation to stick to the routine and continue from one of the instructors - Mojgan, who became my greatest role model. Her classes are hardest and she spends lots of time and attention to participants to correct them technically. I would have never tried those high intensity classes on my own :))) If you are a member and haven't tried her classes, I highly recommend it. Just do not give up!

The pool is closed without any notifications to the customers so you have to come all the way to the pool entrance to see the sign. You'd think they would send an actually helpful email for once instead of the ton of spam they send us. P.S. I didn't have a class. You should just announce a major shut down like that to the members.

I want to give 0 star if I can. I invited my friend to come to an session in this location, and the associates insist giving us a tour (which is 20 minutes, and it’s already the time for the session) or purchasing a $25 for a day pass. We just want to do the session and I don’t understand why it’s so hard to just go to the session, especially I spend over $1000 every month for the personal training. The guy is so stubborn on the two options and the attitude is not so good. Even he said “If you aren’t interested in sign up, just get a $25 day pass”??? Kind of bully, either buy or go. Avoid this location, Yonge and Finch location is much better!

I joined this gym a few weeks ago, and overall, I am surprised that the gym is well organized and the weights are typically put away. The members seem to be respectful in that sense. However, my experience with the men's change room has been less than pleasant. The showers are disgusting and the smell of sewage is overpowering. You can even see flies all over the place, which is really gross. It's really unpleasant and not the kind of experience you want when you're trying to get ready for the day. Additionally, the steam room doesn't steam, which is disappointing. To make matters worse, the pool has been out of service for over a week now. This is a major letdown, especially for those of us who were looking forward to using it. It's frustrating that this issue hasn't been resolved in a timely manner. Despite these issues, I still think this is a good gym overall. It's just a shame that the change room has been such a disappointment. I hope the management can address these issues soon, as it would really improve the overall experience of the gym.

I always ask for advice and try to listen more than I speak. My request to Ijlal Hassan was to get me a personal trainer who possess the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to design safe and effective fitness program. Ijlal assured me that all Goodlife Fitness personal trainers are masters in instructing and assisting people in reaching personal health and fitness goals. He also confirmed that my personal trainer will have the ability to design exercise fitness program tailored to my needs and attainable goals in a safe and effective way. Ijlal has a strong understanding for the need and importance of screening and client assessment; proficiency in conducting these evaluations initially, he shows a desire to help clients reach their health and fitness goals. Ijlal is dedicated to maintaining personal integrity, client confidentiality and professional standards for best practice. You can see it clearly that he wants to help people live a healthy lifestyle, make his own lifestyle into a career doing something he enjoys and teach people about the body and what it’s capable of. Ijlal loves his job… Clients like me will not know (or usually care) about their personal trainer certification. I really don’t understand the difference between a high level certification in personal training costing a lot of time and money compared with a low level one. The reason I am writing this feedback/review is that I start seeing results. I took on the task of self-educating before having my first session with Michael Labovsky and the problem is that my research was internet based and was not accurate. Setting out a long-term plan is difficult due to lack of information and commitment, the way Michael trains you will prevent you from stopping midway, he is really keen on giving detailed answers to any of my questions. Michael really likes the process of educating his trainees even before they ask. Before every workout he takes few seconds to explain the plan for the workout and why I am doing it. He is eager building client relationships and loyalty, boosting retention and referrals. I am a strong believer that having positive relationships makes you indispensable. The old adage “It’s who you know, not what you know” is more clear to me now at my age than ever. Michael fosters positive relationships with everybody he interacts with wherever he goes. Michael knows well that it not just about delivering results, it’s actually listening to me and delivering the results I asked for. He never forgets who’s session it is – It’s mine, not him and he uses every single minute to train me and pushing me to the max. Yes, I am spending money. But the returns vastly outweigh the cost…

I've noticed the staff do not really care to greet you when you enter or say goodbye when you leave. They're just looking at their phones or at the computer. Another negative is the long hallway between the different sections of the gym. Other than these issues the gym is pretty impressive in terms of equipment, overall size and cleanliness. -Chris

The only reason to give such a high rating is for the staff…but for that fact this location would get a 1 star rating. Let’s start with the pros…if you want pt sessions, I would HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Bobby. He is incredibly knowledgeable and up to date on his craft to provide you the best possible training outcome. He is very friendly, super professional and a pleasure to train with. Now the negatives, this is the most dysfunctional training space I’ve ever seen. Cardio upstairs then downstairs for other stuff then back upstairs another set of stairs for more equipment…too effin confusing, not worth it when you have a limited amount of time to get in and out. You need a map to train here and that’s nothing that can be changed. That’s just the way it is. If you don’t mind brain puzzles and navigating a maze to complete your workout then go for it! Or do PT sessions here, from my experience with Bobby and seeing some of their other trainers, they know what they’re doing. And you won’t have to go at it alone.

North York Madison wouldn’t function properly without the amazing customer service reps at that gym! There’s this one team member, Orris A, who’s literally hands down one of the best employee, he’s very reliable, hands on with the company and someone I look forward to seeing when I come to the gym. I’ve been a GoodLife member for over 6 years and Madison just feels like home!

I have been a Goodlife member for many years throughout various cities in Ontario. I have been a member at the Madison Centre location for over 6 years and its the highest level of service I have received from any gym. Andrew is by far most hands on and helpful person with managing accounts. Throughout the pandemic, he was always available to provide his assistance and support, which is especially rare given that the gyms were closed for an extended time. I couldn't be more happy with the service levels at this location, special thanks to Andrew for such outstanding support and service he provides !

Confusing layout if it's your first visit. Lots of options for cardio. Also has a pool but can't comment on it due to covid. There are stairs to go to the front entrance, change rooms, and upper level weights/machine area if you have accessibility requirements.

Use to be a great gym. There are now so many south Asians who either don’t know how to use the equipment properly as well as the gym now smells really bad. Like really bad. You put the two together. Probably going to end my membership and look at an alternative gym.

Cleanliness has been declining and the women's steam room has been closed for at least 1.5 months now. The staff are all super friendly and honestly that is the only reason we still go to this location. I've been becoming more and more disappointed with everything else though. Will revisit my review if steps are taken to get the steam room working and clean up a bit.

Absolutely love this gym! Facilities are perfect for what I require. Personal training with Jay has been more than excellent. It’s been such a great experience and I have seen so many positive changes in a short period. I also absolutely love Odessa’s hot yoga class. She’s a great teacher and practitioner of yoga to the core.

I am sure you will all agree with me that people come to any business looking for something and that if the merchandise don’t deliver on the promises the brand portrays, people will not come back. I write to commend your staff on an exceptional level of service, the service I had was truly flawless and a superb experience throughout my visit. I want to recognize Mr. Jeremie Savoy. Even though my visit was too short, and the gym was too busy, he was very kind to make my visit enjoyable. Greeting me upon heading to the entrance and keeping on top of me on how I was assessing each part of the gym while walking me through. He is passionate about his job and a true reflection of the high levels of standard that I always expect of GoodLife Fitness staff. He displayed great enthusiasm for his role within the organization and he emitted a feeling that he really loves his job. This is something that to me represents a great “feel good” factor when I deal with any organization and for me customer service is paramount. Clearly for him also! Another thing I truly like is when he came up to my seat while filling membership electronic forms and said “Mr. Hassan, how do you enjoy your time with us so far?” First of all, let me say that I love the way he phrases it. It wasn’t “Are you having a good time with us today?” but rather he genuinely opens it up for feedback. Very polite and patient person, confident communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills, having great sense of humor and an open and warm approach and an excellent attention to details. I can say with confident that he enjoys his job very much; he loves to focus on providing excellent customer service while ensuring their comfort and safety through the walk-through. I trust that you will pass on this recognition to him. During my visit he stayed nice and helpful . I was glad to see that he has integrity, a high work ethic and that he goes out of his way to assist others. I couldn’t have been treated any better :)

This is my favorite Goodlife location! This location is now 24 hours again :) some people may not like the layout because of the extra walking required but I like how things are spaced out. I like having my own space. Classes - the body pump, zumba, yoga are all very good too. The instructions are enthusiastic and will work you, if you follow all their steps. Parking is now 3 hours everyday and any time so that's a big plus too!

Started a free trial at entry level. Personal trainer made me do 10 minutes of continuous jogging then squatting 3 quarters of my weight. Completely blacked out. All in 30 minutes. Couple of years later. Same guy pulls me over and writes a traffic ticket. After paying a lawyer and court charges. Courthouse had the nerve to recharge me again right after I paid!

I like this gym. There is a lot of equipment to do a variety of exercises as you wish. I have also tried the personal training and I appreciate that they have a separate section of the gym for training their clients. The free parking is greatly appreciated, though one thing I have always found not so nice is if you forget or misplace the ticket you’re basically screwed since you can’t scan it before leaving the gym - then it’s not free. So keep that in mind. I did initially have some concerns with staff ignoring you when you arrive/leave, this was awhile back, but I’ve noticed this has improved significantly. The change rooms are well-maintained. I can’t speak for the showers and steam rooms since I don’t use those.

Noah is an absolutely AMAZING employee. 👏👏👏👏 gave us a thorough tour of the gym and explained all our options. He, along with the staff seem extremely friendly yet professional. Noah specifically though was so knowledgeable, professional and thorough that I thought he was a manager to be honest! But that is the type of service you get from any employee!! The gym is clean and not packed. I'm so very excited to start my fitness journey 🙌 thank you noah!!!!

So I need to take a tour and decide if I would like to join or not. I did not expect this!!!

Open the freaking thing limit it to 3 ppl at a time for example, everyone inside is vaccinated... And let us enjoy what we paid for.

One month ago, I started exercising with Nesta as my trainer.
Not having exercised for a long time, I was apprehensive but when I met and got to know Nesta, I knew that he was the perfect coach for me.
Nesta is very professional. He is also very kind, patient and understanding.
His encouragement has given me the confidence that I needed to start this program.
After one short month I am extremely pleased with my progress and I feel assured that with his continued training and encouragement, that I will continue getting good results and attain my goal. Nesta is the best. I highly recommend this amazing trainer 💕

I started coming to this gym pre-pandemic for quite awhile. Back then, the equipment & facilities were pretty new and less touched. As the years passed, it's gotten busier the more clients they've introduced to the gym. You can definitely tell when someone has just cleaned the change room or when you've just entered after a mad rush has left. I've had to be more selective the time of day I went because the majority of the good hours of the day would be busy. Overall, I'm still quite happy with this gym, just less than I was before. Would recommend also trying other gyms out.

I joined Goodlife Fitness 3 months ago and absolutely love it. I have a personal trainer NOAH and he is FANTASTIC. He is very personable, flexible and hard working. He listens to my needs and works my routine accordingly. Everyone there so far that I have met or dealt with are nice and the facility as a whole is great. I feel like a part of the family there. Thank you for making my home away from home great.

🫤 This gym was pretty reasonable for a while, given the perks of the black card membership. I recently realized that high-sc...
