Not a good powerlifting gym, especially if you plan to go early weekday mornings. Steve Urkel looking motherf*cker that works the front counter won't allow anyone to deadlift more than his bodyweight (~135lbs). If you can deadlift 5 or more plates on each side, be warned there will be complaints from insecure members that have never touched a barbell. Some decent people but a lot of them are softer than Elton John at the playboy mansion. Not nearly as good as the old Sheppard Centre Goodlife it was meant to replace which actually let people throw weight around, had a good atmosphere, and didn't cater to insecure/underachieving members that are intimidated at the sight of weightlifting chalk. It's supposed to be a gym, not an Instagram background.

Today I had an outstanding experience with gym trainer Adrian during the body composition session. His expertise and personalized guidance were instrumental in helping me understand my fitness goals better. Adrian’s motivational approach and attention to detail made the session not only informative but also enjoyable. I highly recommend his services to anyone looking to achieve their fitness objectives with a supportive and knowledgeable professional.

Very good facilities, very good access and decent location. My one star rating is because of the rude staff member by the name of Jermaine. Very condescending very unprofessional, and incapable of displaying professional courtesy in a customer facing environment.

They have poor services caring clients. One time I lost my phone during exercising. One of the staff asked me what versions of the phone and he was literally laugh at me that my phone was too old to stole by someone. I never go back to the location since then.

Bad service. Because of just 1 staff then I had to pay over $70 a month even I didn’t know and also Didn’t go the gym for a long time then if I cancel the membership it charge me over $99. All the information supposed I have to know but the staff didn’t tell me. Bad experience ever and highly recommend you must not register this gym and should go to LA finess.

It was to my knowledge that GoodLife was going above and beyond to help their members feel safe while returning to their clubs during these times. Upon my arrival I quickly noticed very few people wearing masks properly and maintaining distance with other members. I was instructed that masks were only mandatory between exercises but no one was enforcing that and no one cared to follow that rule. Few people wiped down machines before and after use and employees even pulled masks below their noses to communicate with others. I have felt more comfortable in a packed grocery store and recommend anyone who is hesitant to go back to refrain. Freeze your membership and force them to do better.

Good facilities. Nice location. 1 star for great customer service Excellent talking the new promotion to get customers registered. And not providing enough information that the package is registered for 1 year. We were very surprised when we found out the truth. So now, no interest going to that place. Cancelation will be charged couple hundred dollars :)) the manager had no solutions for what they have done for us. Misunderstanding and no responsibility. No longer come back here and will never recommend to my friends.

On Sunday Dec 22 at 6 pm, towels were not ready for service, very poor and impolite customer service, men's change room was so dirty, in particular at washrooms; towels were every where on the floor, all mats are gym were dirty, as people with street shoes walking on them; not caring to clean, staff also were not cleaning. Suggestion: 1 Please buy several Winter Mats and put them along the way to change rooms 2 Put several Notice that all members MUST use the gym shoes inside the gym, and if their shoes causes dirt in the gym they my be charge for cleaning if they fail to clean themselves 3 A shelf be located at Entrance Door and staff asking politely from ALL Member to take off their WET BOOTS or SHOES put them on the rack or carry with plastic bags, like many other Goodlife

Small, mostly cardio machines with limited weight area which is quite disappointing. Majority of the space is taken up by the "personal training" section which members are not allowed to use unless they have a GoodLife trainer. If you go in the evening the weights are tossed all over the place. I know this is mostly people not returning the weights they used but staff should get on top of that/rearrange the weights every few hours. The parking lot has very tight entrance and exit not suitable for larger vehicles. Edited my rating to 1 star. Worst GoodLife I've ever been to. Dirty towels and empty water bottles have been in the same exact spot for 4 days in a row. Not going to be returning to this gym. 0 cleaning done.

Staff will complain if your deadlifting bothers particular members. Not a good gym if you would like to improve your deadlift strength. Additionally, the mens change room hand dryer has been out of order for as long as I can remember.

Sauna is a joke just a bunch of heaters put into a room that take 1 hour to heat up to luke warm, heaters are cover wuth amesh that is all mangle, personal trainer area is way to big for the gym takes almost 1/3 of the gym, leaving 90% of clients with less space.wish there was another 24 hr gym closer to me, i dont reccomended to anyone . there is better goodlife gyms , its a pretty gym but they droped the ball planning this one.

My negative experience at this location boils down to 2 consistent issues: uncleanliness and lack of customer care. This gym often has a terrible stinky foot smell due to bad temperature control and lack of cleaning supplies/service. On multiple occasions, the paper towel dispenser in the squat rack area was empty when I got there and still empty when I was leaving an hour later; the squat racks and other frequently used leg machines were not being cleaned by members during the whole hour or longer. There was not a single employee checking to clean the equipment or replenish supplies during high traffic times until I would say something. This should not be the responsibility of members. It is apparent that employees only value members that are paying for personal training (PT). Benches are inconsistently located in a certain area, and unfortunately even if no one is in a PT session, the benches in the area are off-limits. Employees are not helpful; recently I was told that the benches in the personal training area, despite not being used, were simply not allowed to be temporarily moved elsewhere "because our boss is strict about it." There was no offer to help move benches from the opposite side of the gym. I urge the managers at the location to remember that everyone is paying for a membership and should be able to use the only close benches in the area if they are going to go un-used otherwise, or to make sure there is another non-PT bench consistently kept in the area. Overall, the issues I experienced lie with the staff that were working at the specific time, but their actions are a symptom of broader corporate decisions made by GoodLife - either there are not enough people to do the work at this location or they are not being incentivized to go above and beyond in their role (aside from finding more members to do PT sessions). It is unfortunate because I really enjoyed GoodLife when I first got a membership 3 years ago, but in the past year it has gone downhill in terms of hygiene and customer experience. I'm looking forward to finding a different gym membership.

I've been to many Goodlife locations (Waterloo, London, other parts of Toronto etc) and love that I have convenient access to the gyms when commuting/travelling. The interior is really wonderful, with big, bright spaces and lots of locker space. I was very excited to participate in a group fitness class at York Mills because they are consistently good. The HIIT/BodyPump instructor that taught Tuesday evening (Morin?) fell below the level of professionalism I expected of an instructor. She not only started the class complaining about scheduling (perhaps not related to her class) in her microphone, but chewed gum throughout the Pump class. The members at this club are also terribly rude. A member got up in my face after I politely informed her she was taking my step equipment. While I will continue the go to Goodlife as I love the fitness classes and facilities, York Mills will be low on the list.

The employees and the management are very nice and friendly and helpful , very good environment, the cleanliness of the change room and toilets are poor , need more accessories for equipments like handles and more benches, YOGA CLASS IS ONLY ONCE A WEEK which i think we need more of Yoga classes specially during this difficult time we need to care more of our mental health. The massage chairs remote control covers are broken for more than 6 months and I mentioned it several times to front desk so we can not use the automated massage programs on the remote for all 3 chairs, some treadmill’s TV not working. I just mentioned these things because i love this location so looking forward for some improvements, thanks to the employees and the management team to make such a beautiful environment for us.

I’ve been training with Farbod for the past 5 months, and the journey has been nothing short of transformative. From the outset, Farbod’s professionalism and dedication to his craft were evident. He isn’t just a trainer who walks you through a series of exercises; he’s a guide who genuinely cares about your health, progress, and goals. What sets Farbod apart is his unique blend of expertise and personal qualities. His knowledge about fitness and nutrition is vast, yet he delivers it in a way that’s accessible and tailored to my individual needs. He’s incredibly patient, always ready to answer questions, and adjust workouts to better suit my capabilities and objectives. Farbod’s friendly demeanor made each session enjoyable, transforming the gym from a place of intimidation to a space of personal growth and positivity. His encouragement and support have been pivotal in my journey, pushing me to surpass my own expectations and achieve results I didn’t think were possible. Above all, Farbod’s professionalism shines through in his meticulous planning, attention to detail, and the way he follows up on progress. He’s not just a trainer; he’s a mentor and motivator who has instilled in me a newfound appreciation for health and fitness. I highly recommend Farbod to anyone looking to embark on or continue their fitness journey. With Farbod, you’re not just investing in a personal trainer, but a healthier, stronger, and more confident version of yourself.

There are 6 squat racks, and 2 are off limits without a personal trainer, even when no personal trainers are working. In contrast, there are 134 lockers and enough cardio machines for a small country. Also, posted hours on the website were wrong, and the gym closed an hour earlier than stated. Some positives include the kind front desk staff, and good air circulation.

This is probably the worst location of goodlife. I forgot to bring my water bottle and they don’t even have water bottles for their customers. Their vending machine never works. We pay so much and still end up with poor customer service. Moreover, my jackets were stolen twice from the locker. It has never happened to me at any other location.

Overall nice gym, the closest one to my home. As mentioned by others the men's sauna is not working and occasionally I spot personal belongings, garbage and dirty towels left by others in the gym and men's changing room. Overall I'm happy, it's a decent-sized location, with plenty of parking, and operating 24/7.

I go here as my main gym. Respectful (mostly) clientele, up-to-date gym machines, not so busy outside of peak hours. Friendly and respectful staff members. Excellent group exercise instructors. Two areas for improvement: They only give you a two-hour validation, so better use your time wisely. Also maybe treat your employees better with longer validation, if not free parking. Cleanliness might be an issue at times (especially during peak hours), with towels lying around in the change room, and the restroom area being smelly and wet all over the floor and the sinks. Very small sauna room, often out of service.

Very poor customer service. They were very sweet when they wanted to get me enroll in “personal training” so they can get commission. After that whenever I tried to contact manager , he is always busy. Trainer doesn’t follow schedule or time you have given , he will give his own “Free” time. When I tried to talk about their manager that I have fix schedule and your trainer doesn’t respond. He said this is how it works. He was rude and tried to accuse me. I want my personal training charges refund. It’s horrible customer service I have ever came across. Poor customer service, poor communication

First let me start by saying this is such a convenient location and access to parking is extremely easy. It’s always clean and staff are always friendly. There are so many machines to choose from but I’m happy that I decided to try personal training. I needed the push to achieve my goals. I just finished training sessions with Lou and I cannot say enough great things about him. He pushed me further than I thought I could go and really motivated me in the best possible way. Lou is extremely flexible with scheduling, especially considering my limited availability due to work. I previously thought going to the gym was really intimidating and Lou showed me that it wasn’t. I’ve had some of the best workouts with him that I’ve ever had in my life. I would really recommend going to this location and training with Lou. The results are so worth it!

Great location, with new equipments. The parking is a little bit of a problem but it’s worth handling it. Nicest employees on earth, they treated me so well, especially the front desk staff Maral, she was very helpful, welcoming and cute. She almost made my experience 1000% better and she also guided me though the app, since I was always having trouble logging in. Very satisfied with my experience and I highly recommend everyone to visit this location. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

When they opened it was great, over the years it’s been a gradual decline. Men’s change room not maintained well enough, dirty sinks, washroom occasionally smells really bad. Dyson hand dryer has been broken for months. Shower area also dirty and often soap is not refilled and the Sauna needs to be repaired.

Absolutely horrible service here! Employees on their phone well they are supposed to be supervising Covid regulations. I seen employees here not whip down their own equipment and not wearing mask. This place is like a playground and felt very unsafe well in the gym. The final straw was today when a cleaner named Bethany was very rude to me as well as the “pretend manager” on site who was raising his voice at me, talked over me as I was trying to explain the situation and was just flat out rude. Canceled my member ship on the spot. Don’t go to this gym....

This gym has a little out of my way but I was tired of going to other goodlifes at night and having the gym in shambles... I often found myself looking for equipment I needed for up to 20 minutes and sometimes I never found what I was looking for. They have one employee named Prateek that works at night he keeps everything nice and tidy always easy to find what you're looking for. He's also very helpful and knowledgeable. When he's not working you can tell and the place is a mess. Coming from a person that doesn't have a lot of extra time on their hands it's really nice to be able to walk into a gym do my workout within an hour and not waste time looking for equipment.

We have been going to the York Mills and Yonge Street location of GoodLife for several years. We switched from another location primarily because of the staff working there. Everyone at the front desk is warm and welcoming, especially Brynn. We enjoy talking with her when we come to work out. Genti, who started at the front desk and is now a personal trainer, is also very pleasant and professional and we enjoy talking to him as well. Keep up the great work! It makes exercising much more fun!

One of the better GoodLife locations I've been to. The gym is very clean and well-equipped, the sauna and showers are nice, and they offer free parking for up to two hours. Additionally, the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Brynn, who works at the front desk, is always a pleasure. She greets everyone who walks through the door with a friendly smile and warm welcome! It's clear that she takes pride in her work and genuinely cares about the members. GoodLife is fortunate to have such excellent staff at this location. Overall, I would highly recommend this goodlife to anyone!

I often go to this gym to do a proper workout because of the good range of equipment and usually there are times that I can get a good workout in. However, I don’t feel as welcomed in the gym due to the lack of customer and employee interaction. When I enter and exit the gym I often truly appreciate when I am greeted though during the past year I have been going to this location I am never greeted. It feels as though employees pick when they want to greet others which are usually members that could possibly be a member that they are training. Which I found very disappointing in their customer service is when there are multiple employees at the front desk casually speaking to eachother and as I left not a single one puts in the effort of saying goodbye or hello. This often happens and creates a very discouraging environment when people that I assume are meant to help give a very judgemental look and not one that is friendly. Often times I know the range of pt training is not easily tangible by all… even with that being said I hope employees put in the effort to treat members. Another thing Iike to mention…which I found disturbing during my time going to the gym I find that there was a couple you misused the washroom to their own pleasure and are found doing other things in the washroom which creates a very uncomfortable environment especially when in public spaces that are often used by people.

I really liked this location because it has 2 hour free parking, the space was not too crowded, and the equipment didn't feel so packed together like other locations. They had 4 squat racks and plenty of barbells and weights. It's too bad I'm not in the area otherwise I'd make this my home gym. The locker areas were clean and optimized space. Definitely more affluent than other locations. The most comparable one would be Islington and Bloor which I think is equally as nice and not crowded.

Spinning studio just replaced all the bikes with brand new , top of the line Kaiser spin bikes. Electromagnetic finely tuned resistance, rpm, calorie, wattage, time, and gear readouts, with ability to sync with a heart monitor. Bikes are super smooth and latest design. With great live instructors, fantastic place to do a spinning class.

I moved here from LA Fitness last year. I was very impressed by the level of the cleanliness of the gym and locker compared to LA. The management was pretty good in comparison. The dumbbell and etc were not missing and machines were in top-notch condition (although that seems to be changing a little recently, some minor dumbbells are missing and machines grips and etc are not in the good shape like before and not well tuned/lubricated). I hope the management continues to keep here in top condition! As for the personal Trainer and the help I've got here, I have been very happy. I have Been lucky enough to work with Fernando Mir for the past couple of months and improve a lot in different aspects. He is well trained and educated in this field. He is considerate and careful with the previous injuries , I had an ACL Reconstruction and some shoulder issues. Ive seen significant improvement and decided to sign up for 1 year, 2 sessions/week contract recently. Thanks Goodlife Fitness and Keep Up the good Work!

I have been training with Ellie for almost a year now and she has been so wonderful! She pushes me to do my best and to try exercises/machines I haven't tried before. I used to be a bit afraid of most of the machines and how to use it, but Ellie patiently explains them to me and what muscle it would affect. I believe I have a deeper understanding of fitness now and my body thanks to her instruction. I've haven't felt this fit in ages! Thank you so much Ellie!! And shoutout to Grace for putting us together 😊 Don't hesitate to ask for Ellie if you are considering personal training!

Best location.

I went there today and talked to Eric about my corporate membership. I initially had some issues but he worked it all out and he was super friendly and helpful. Thanks Eric!

Some of the biggest lockers and best facilities in Toronto. Also one of the few locations that offer towel service again. Just avoid the high pressure sales tactics and it's a great gym.

    Best gym

Good staff and great location. The gym is in need of some more equipment such as a hip thrust machine and more ropes available. It gets pretty busy in here and finding a bench and a rack to do hip thrusts or sharing one rope at the cables area isn't ideal.

Gym is a very good atmosphere. Everybody is positive and friendly including the staff. You can’t beat the price anywhere else too.

Great location, staff are on the ball and generally easy going ! They have huge parking lot so parking is not a problem and they validate. Only thing is it would be great if they could extend their hours on weekends as they close at 830pm.

Pros: The equipment is in good condition. Very good location wise and free parking while you workout. Cons: Lack of professionalism. I'm not sure how old the staff is here but there is a group of young men who were commenting on the attractiveness of some of the people working out. I wouldn't want my daughter to have to hear that or be subject to that if she was working out here. My son behaves better than this. The cursing can also be heard from a significant distance away. The paper towels were empty.

Pretty big location, staff are friendly and helpful, all COVID measures are followed, various equipment and not overly crowded. I like this location, very live and motivating. It's located inside the Yorkmills Centre, direct subway access and under ground parking free for 1.5 hours for members.

Very nice facility. Ola is a great trainer and fitness manager. Convenient to line 1 TTC as well and the locker rooms are generally kept very clean.

Not a lot of benches for the amount of people that use the gym, and there aren't enough weights as well. That being said, it's a good gym, clean, safe, with all the equipment in good order. I think what really sells goodlife is their classes though, so if you aren't taking those, might not be a great deal.

Well equipped and clean facility, with customer-centric reception staff and great instructors (Kerry's Tues/Thurs a.m. spin classes are worth an early wake-up).

Great space with a great flow and function. This is the ideal space if you’re new to the gym and want to be able to workout without too much intimidation. This is my regular spot to workout. Great staff as well, very friendly and helpful. Bathroom and change area is always clean. Overall great space for a beginner/intermediate person.

The personal training is excellent. Fernando is a top trainer who makes each session interesting and helps push me to my goals. The Gym is convenient and has free 2 hour parking. My only concern would be some equipment needs to be fixed as they have been broken for awhile. That being said great Gym and highly recommend the personal trainers.

Love working out at the York Mills location. It’s convenient by car - as they validate parking. But you can also access by subway! I recently got personal training and am working with Genti and am really enjoying my workouts. I feel empowered to go to the gym and am getting more comfortable. It’s nice to be able to walk in to a gym and feel comfortable. The staff is pleasant and polite.

Great location. They need to fix the sauna in the male changeroom, the buttons don't work and theres no late night access, this is important as it is the only time some people can use the gym. Also the gym temperature is always colder than it needs to be, please fix the AC. Staff is kind and the atmosphere is relaxed.

I am writing this review to strongly resonate with the previous remarks concerning the sauna situation in the male change room at GoodLife Fitness. The sauna has been a sanctuary for many of us post-workout, aiding in muscle relaxation and promoting overall well-being. However, the broken controls have been a persistent issue, detracting from what should be a rejuvenating experience. The ongoing neglect of this problem is surprising and not reflective of the high standards usually maintained by GoodLife Fitness. It's disheartening to see such a valuable facility rendered less useful due to a lack of timely maintenance. I concur wholeheartedly with the prior reviews and implore the management to prioritize the repair of the sauna controls. Addressing this issue promptly will not only reflect positively on GoodLife Fitness’s commitment to providing a top-notch fitness environment but also enhance the satisfaction and loyalty of its members. The gym's overall ambiance and facilities are commendable, but the unresolved sauna issues necessitate a deduction of two stars. I am optimistic that once the sauna is fixed, my rating will soar to a 5-star review.

😠 I came to the gym tonight. The lady at the front desk was having issue with another gym member. I scanned my membership and wanted to proceed to the gym, Homehr. 🫤 This gym was pretty reasonable for a while, given the perks of the black card membership. However since the beginning of the summer, it has been absolutely crowded with young high-school aged teens that show up in groups of 4 and higher chatting around the equipment. I recently realized that high-sc...
