My friend and I Had the late night munchies looking for a good dessert spot and came across symposium restaurant right off Yonge south of 407 our server ASH was very friendly explained all The items on the dessert menu we both had the chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream topped with snickers pieces plus caramel sauce & whipped cream excellent Big portion sizes enough for two will definitely recommend

Dropped in for a quick dessert stop after having dinner in the area at another restaurant. Friendly service and good desserts! Menus are giant so good for the far sighted. As a carrot cake fan I wasn't crazy about the Sky High Carrot Cake, but the portion was great and very shareable. Lots of seating both outside and inside, easy to find location being in a plaza and parking facing.

We were there for breakfast on a weekday. Great variety of breakfast food, all tasting very good. We sat outside and it was pleasant, but the inside is nice as well. Service was friendly and fast, bonus points if you speak Farsi 🤓

Absolutely loved the pasta not at all greasy and impressively garnished. And epitome of culinary experience. Was able to enjoy food in a pleasant and comfortable environment. Satiated not just my palate but also my experience with them. Especially the staff was extremely helpful to introduce me to their menu. All the extravagance lead me to have a unique experience with them. And apart from that the key performance indexes of a best customer service patience, diligence and good communication skills were maintained to highest levels. Absolutely appreciate everything in the end.

First time at this location and i went around 10 pm. The food was good and server was nice. The paintings and decor inside was also cute. We got the bruschetta, fish tacos and chicken stir fry bowl.

Our family came on a beautiful sunny Mother’s Day. It was busy everywhere as expected but Symposium gave us a chance to receive a wonderful lunch that we needed. Sure, the food came out slow, and thankfully we were told prior to our seating that there would be a wait time, but the food was sure worth it! We saw the staff working hard from back to front. They really do care about their customers. We noticed some of the patrons frustrated, but being a full house, they should also understand that service wouldn’t be fast as they usually would be. But all I can do is thank them, and keep up the good work! We will surely come back. Thank you!

There was no waiting and return was about 20% occupied. The taste was overall okay for the breakfast items we tried. Mango juice did not feel like it was fresh.

First visit to Symposium and overall very pleased with the food and service. The early bird breakfast is a great value - only $9.95 for an Omelette; two eggs and two additional ingredients (mushrooms & cheddar cheese). Staff are very friendly at this location. They were attentive; ensuring that my cup was always filled with coffee...after a busy morning, I really appreciated that! Looking forward to another visit to try their brunch mimosa specials.

We went for a birthday dinner. I really liked this place. Neat, clean, very bright. Setia was our server, took very good care of us. Got drinks and appetizers right away. Main meals came out quickly, very good portions and still hot. Fish and chips and chicken parm very nice. Great dessert selections as well. Carrot Cake is the best. We will be going back.

I tried this place for first time yesterday. We sat on their patio. Our orders were Fish and chips and the Teriyaki Salman salad bowl. Good quality, reasonable price, delicious, and good service. Our orders got ready for 16-20 minutes. Our server was Parham that he was so friendly and helpful. Parking lot and free Wi-Fi are available.

Rosie was our server and she was just amazing. Her service was excellent and all her recommendations turned out to be great!!

We came to Symposium on Sunday for late brunch. We were seated as soon as we walked in and menu were provided to us. We got the Deluxe Omelette and Eggs Benjamin along with the Belgian Waffles and of course two coffees. The coffees were just meh and however the foods were better than your other brunch restaurants I would say but I wish the presentations would be better. When I saw the Eggs Benjamin for a second I was second guessing if it's the one I ordered. Our waiter not sure if this is how they were trained but he felt like new. He was taking away our knives and left us with two forks while we still have a full piece of waffle left. Lol it was funny to me that we had to literally break the waffle into piece using two folks to eat it.

I had a wonderful experience at Symposium Cafe in Thornhill! It's a cozy spot with delicious food that won't break the bank. The fact that their kitchen stays open late is a big plus. The servers are friendly and polite, and the warm and simple atmosphere makes it a perfect place to unwind. Highly recommended!

Went here on a Thursday morning and sat outside o the patio. Great service, the food was wonderful too. I ordered the avocado toast and was not disappointed. Will be coming back soon!

The experience here was ok. The food was at least ok. Service on the other hand wasn't bad, it just felt like our server did not want to be there. I get it, it's work makes sense but, just didn't feel right. Atmosphere is literally like every other symposium just 180 the other way. Some look good, others like it's just what ever they can think of.

Had an omelette and a dessert. I’m impressed because most places make dry omelettes, but this place didn’t overcook it and it tasted great. The dessert was fine as is with the ice cream, so adding the whip cream was a delightful bonus. The service is very friendly and accommodating. Definitely a lot of options, I had trouble choosing. I’m looking forward to coming back here again. 👍🏻

The food is amazing as always. My friends and I love going there to see the smiles on their experienced staff's faces. After a long day of work, this branch feels like home. Arya has always been very kind to us and I see how he treats everyone in their restaurant this nicely and politely. I definitely recommend this place.

We have been going to Symposium occasionally for weekend brunch or lunch for a long time. It was always busy and getting a table sometimes meant a wait. But the atmosphere and consistently pleasing food made it worth it. The last few visits have been disappointing experiences, and the thinning crowds show it hasn't just been for use. The kitchen has been slow, the wait staff a bit confused and orders have been incorrect. The food has not been to the same standards as before - burnt eggs, bread not toasted, fruit not fresh, etc. Hopefully the team there fixes the issues, but we will be avoiding the place for a while.

Food is mid. Sure it was fine and edible but there’s never any wow factor at Symposium. This is a great place to have a late night with friends over drinks. Definitely would recommend their milkshakes and smoothies; great selection! Service was a bit subpar, very much reluctant to join tables for my larger group. An average experience.. nothing too special.

Eunice our server was fantastic & attentive! Food plates were eye-pleasing and all were very yummy, nice portions in general.

I got the souvlaki chicken dinner for 2 for takeout. Online ordering ahead worked well and everything was fresh and ready when I arrived. The food was tasty and plentiful and I appreciated the compostable packaging. As small nitpick is that they could have been more strategic about packaging our salads - we ordered 2 servings each of Caesar salad and Greek salad. These were packaged in 4 separate containers each less than half full, which seemed a bit wasteful.

The people were respectful and helpful. They were also very understanding since Covid 19 rules are not always easy and clear about passports. The food was excellent. I shall go again.

Really enjoyable experience all around. Although the patio overlooks Yonge Street, the music and the vibe on the patio is relaxing and enjoyable, so the traffic isn't that much of an issue. If they add some more flowers or foliage, I would rate it a 5 star. The food was excellent and so were the cocktails. I ordered a Litchi Martini and Fried Calamari and I was happy with both of them.

Stopped by this location to have a quick bite, to break my fast for the day. Anyone that fasts knows how hungry you are when your breaking fast, especially at 2PM. I ordered the wings. When I bit into it it was undercooked, with blood still on the bones. I sent it back to get another, the cook refried the same wings, which had already been tossed in their sweet and spicy thai. The wings were burnt this time and was covered with additional sauce to hide the burnt ends. They offered me 50% discount. Great service.

This Symposium has the best bacon compared to other locations, and the coffee is pretty good too! Great spot for breakfast or brunch!

VERY DISAPPOINTED !! I've been to this location many times, but today will be the last! My friends and I haven't seen each other due to Covid, so we decided to have dinner at this location. What a mistake! The waitress was friendly and courteous, but the gentleman server was RUDE and was trying to rush us out the door. IF YOU WANT CUSTOMERS TO COME BACK, BE MORE FRIENDLY!!! Food was nothing to brag about. I ordered Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl. VERY little chicken, some vegetables and LOTS OF RICE. I wanted a specialty coffee and the male server wouldn't show me a menu. He kept asking, " What do you want?" I WANTED TO SEE A MENU!!!!

The coffee, bread and potatoes were great. Thank you for a great service.

We dined in on Friday evening around 9:30pm, and will not be coming back here again. Worst service I have received, and I have been in the hospitality industry for over 20+ year. Server could not care less about their costumer. Elder brown man, with short hair, with no class, dress send, style or manners. Rude! Unprofessional. We had to ask for the menu, which he dropped off and didn't come back for 15 minutes, he was busy polishing dinnerware, when he should have kept an eye on his section, guest satisfaction and cleanliness. We asked him about coffee.. His reply was I have no idea.. Everything is in the menu. Food was good. Horrible service. He didn't have product knowledge. Could not suggest items from the menu. Did not try to upsell. Did not check on his table after serving a meal and to see if you need it anything. Disappointed with this restaurant management and team. If you can't control your location. Please get in touch with me. I may be able to help you function as a capable restaurant.

We had a pleasant time here and the food was prepared promptly. Our experience was enhanced due to our waiter Arya, who was friendly, attentive and very hospitable. We appreciated his service and efforts to make sure we were taken care of.

We visited for brunch on the weekend and were very disappointed with the quality of the food. We both ordered different eggs Benedict’s but in both cases, the poached eggs were fully cooked through. The coffee also had a poor taste. Service was good although they seemed disorganized - servers were clearing other tables and then stopping by with full hands to pick up a mug or one dish from our table. We’ve visited other symposiums and have had good experiences but we wont be coming back to this location.

Menu is extensive with a variety of options. (Food, drinks, and desserts). Food was just okay and portion size was reasonable. Service was good.

Five stars for customer services. I felt my first plate was off. The server was adamant to please me. She remade my food and to my surprise didn’t charge me for it. I was so pleased with this type of service that I compensated her for it.

Servers were nice but lacking in actual servicing - asked for water 3 times before we finally got it in the middle of our meals. We had waited for about 30 minutes before they came to take our orders. Once the food arrived, they were nowhere to be seen again. Before you ask, no, it wasn’t busy. The food was also bland and dry. The atmosphere was okay, and the restaurant had a lot of seating which is nice, including a decent sized patio. However, I don’t think I can recommend this location due to the service and food quality.

The latte I had was a delightful blend of rich espresso and perfectly steamed milk. The flavor was smooth, and the presentation was impeccable. It’s evident that the barista has a true skill in crafting a delicious latte. A delightful experience that I’ll definitely come again!

Very unpleasant experience Sunday evening when kids eat free. Totally understaffed too. Appetizer took 35 min to come out, food nearly 45 min.. and then came out dry and over cooked. When a shrimp tail was found in our friends kids french fries, no apology from Manager (Should have brought new kids meal) .. just an 'oops, well the shrimp is fried in same deep fry tray as french fries'. I explained this is extremely problematic as this family has reasons not to eat shellfish and they should tell customers that for allergy reasons too. Manager said 'you already get it for free anyway so why are you upset?' Found her to be incompetent and rude. We also asked her to check our gift cards BEFORE we ordered, only checked one and not the other and end of meal said the other does not work. Which is why we asked her to check all was good PRIOR. No apology, no regard for customer care. Only person with customer service tact and who knows what he is doing is the bartender.
