The lychee iced tea, ginger roll, oysters, and burgers were really good! The short ribs and fried chicken was yummy but nothing special. The ambiance was cute but it didn't match the price range that the restaurant is in. That being said our service was really bad. We waited 1 hour between the oysters and the rest of our meal. There was not much communication until we brought it up to our waiter and they didn't comp anything on our bill until we complained about the lack of service. We also waited a good half an hour with our table empty without anyone asking us if we want our bill. At the end they took the short ribs off our bill which honestly is not enough for the lack of service we received. Overall tasty food but the ambiance and service doesn't match the price.

I don’t think this place was as good as before like mentioned in the comments. All utensils changed to plastic and disposable ones. We ordered three things: Aburi Salmon Donburi - the presentation is shocking. It reminds me of canned tuna/cat food. Then when I dig in deeper, it's just a couple of pieces of salmon soaked in mayo sauce. It tasted like canned tuna as well. Deep-fried pork belly - this tastes okay, but it's very oily and soggy on the outside. Fried Chicken - I saw people commented this is the best fried chicken they had in their life. I had my hopes up, and it's terrible. It's soggy, tasteless and the middle is slightly pink. We had to send it back as we do not dare to eat raw chicken. Overall, disappointment. Note to the owner: presentation and execution are very important. Please pay attention to it, or else you will ruin all those good reviews accumulated throughout the years.

Stop by on Tuesday night. Special night for $1.0 oyster 🦪. We also ordered double salmon rolls and udon soup. We just seated at the bar. Server was great. Foods were awesome.

Food safety Hazard! My favourite go to place for Oysters, Udon, Top of the line sushi and spicy mac n cheese! Attentive and friendly staff, vibing atmosphere and overall a great dine-in. Unfortunately till I faced a food hazard recently! This guy(a chef there) picks his nose, plays on his phone while not covering his mouth and making your food.

We walked in without a reservation and they were able to get us a table quickly! Tried the oysters, fried chicken and the fried pork belly! Everything was super delicious, staff were quick and attentive, and we're definitely going to come back for more oysters! I've never enjoyed eating oysters before but this changed my mind. 10/10 would recommend.

Note that they only serve $1 oyster on Tuesday & Wednesday. (We thought they have the promotion for the full weekdays😅 unfortunately we missed the promotion as we went on Monday) Fresh oysters tho!! Overall: Nice Izakaya with pleasant ambiance, various food & drink options! Most foods are on the SWEETER side, so make sure to order some savoury & light dishes to balance the taste! 😉 🌟Recommended dishes: •Japa burgers - juicy patty, delicious burger sauce and filling portion! But it’s on the sweeter side, so one per person should be enough. •Ebi-Mayo(tiger shrimp) - large, meaty and perfectly breaded tiger shrimp. The sweet tiger shrimps and the savoury shrimp chips are a perfect combo! Must Try!!! 👍

Amazing food and drinks. Go with the white wine sangria that everyone in your group will enjoy. Has a hint of pineapple juice that goes great with the rest of the wine flavour. For food, honestly all the rolls are good but personal favourite is the double salmon roll. Cooked salmon inside with a slice of salmon sashimi on top. Spicy Mac and cheese is good but a bit on the heavier side and has little lobser pieces inside. Japa burgers (sliders) are also a great share. Aburi salmon don is a save choice. Ebi-mayo and calamari are both good. And the best of all are the baked oysters. There's 2 floors, with the second floor having indoor and patio sections. They're currently using takeout boxes and plates instead of actual plates due to COVID, so if you're sitting in the patio these days, it's pretty windy so everything goes flying. Recommend sitting inside if you can for the next little bit.

The second time I visited Nome was already 5 years later... This time, I came to the second-floor patio, which was quite clean and cozy. Spicy Poke - The salmon was fresh, mixed with beans, cucumber, radish, and onion. The sweet sesame dressing really added a nice flavour to it. Baked Oysters - I was upset when it disappeared from Kinka's menu, but was surprised to see it here. Cheese and garlic butter are the perfect combo. The breadcrumbs on top added a nice crunchiness. The oyster's taste was still standout and fresh. Japa Burgers - The staff recommended we order them, and I'm glad we did. The beef patty was pretty big, the tomato slice and lettuce added a touch of freshness. The burger sauce was definitely what made the sliders so tasty. They have a good variety of drinks. The Blue Samurai was tasty, although it looked more green to me, and the pineapple was quite sour. The service was excellent. All three staff members we interacted with were knowledgeable and friendly. Food (quality, creativity, consistency) - 5/5 Drinks (quality, variety) - 4.5/5 Ambience (interior design, cleanliness) - 5/5 Service (courtesy, knowledge, timeliness) - 5/5 Value (quality vs. price) - 4.5/5 ($$$)

Great service and food! They were very accommodating even though we were late for our reservation. I really enjoyed their oysters, fried chicken, and sashimi salad! I'd definitely return for their $1 oysters on Tuesdays/Wednesdays. Oh, and not to mention their yakult soju! 😋

Loved everything. Try the sliders and the beef ribs; the marinade was very good. The Takoyaki was good. I wasn’t blown away with the Lobster fantasy sushi - was too hyped up for what it is. Portion size is the only problem; e.g I would need 3 orders of the ribs to feel satisfied and I don’t eat that much. Servers were nice and place was busy but clean and food came out fast. 7.5/10 overall; would come again for a cozy night out (if I ate a meal earlier in the day).

Great experience. Good food. The sea food is fresh and tastes delicious. The oysters are $1 on Tuesday, so if you’re in on Tuesday do not forget to order it. Also it’s pretty busy so make sure you order in advance so you don’t have to wait for the food to arrive.

What got me really impressed being here was the food presentation. Every dish was plated extremely well, and all look very appetizing. The service we got was also commendable. There was usually someone willing and ready to assist us. Something this Japanese place also has going for it was that they have oysters available — both from the West Coast and East Coast. My group was able to sample enough variety from their menu. We ordered Bulgogi Tacos, Marinated Short Rib, Apple Salmon, and another specialty roll. They all came out looking and tasting great. The only downside I see was that the food items tend to be priced on the more premium side. The serving portions are small and it is easy for the bill to climb up if you are coming here to eat and not dine.

I come here often on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the $1 oysters. I have eaten almost everything on the menu. The food and drinks are yummy and they come out really fast! I love the mac & cheese, tako wasa, unagi risotto and the lychee iced tea. (I could drink like 10 of those lol) Every sushi I have had was really good too!! Service is great and helpful. They might be a little understaffed so sometimes you just need to have a little more patience, especially on those $1 days.

One of the best in town. Food is flavorful, thanks to the chef special sauce. Oysters are fresh and reasonably priced too. Just one thing, arguably their best, Japa Burgers sold out so fast

Super overrated. Severely disappointed by the portioning in general, but particularly the sad dish of calamari and tiger shrimp. Sliders were good but the fish tacos tasted as if a fast food chain attempted to make tacos. Service was relatively inattentive and forgot to make our takoyaki. Ordered a beer and when it didn't arrive after everything else did, I was informed that the beer I ordered was actually sold out. After all that our group of 6 was charged a mandatory 20% gratuity fee for the sub-par service. Overall food was overpriced and average and I would not come again not recommend it.

Love coming to Nomé! Go-to dishes we love to order are Tiger Shrimp, dozen oyster (east/west 6 each), short ribs, baked oysters, and honey butter chips. We tried the Double Salmon sushi roll, would not order again. Great service and good prices for amount of food. Worth ordering a few dishes and sharing.

Definitely on the pricey side but loved the creative touches they added to the items on the menu and the quality of the food. Restaurant ambience was lovely and felt classy. We had the Seared Salmon roll, Cali Donburi, East and West Coast Oysters, Crispy Pork Belly, and their specialty sakes. Food took a bit to arrive but it was absolutely worth the wait. Servers were also very friendly. Sometimes took a little to get their attention as it was busy but generally very attentive. Consider coming with a group of friends as they have many shareable options. Overall a great experience, will be coming again in the future.

Ive always known about this place and only went there recently. Even though I dont personally enjoy Osyters, their other food selection was quite lovely. My friends did inform me the oysters were pretty good too, especially with their 6 sauces they provide. To top it off, the server was very prompt and kept checking up on us frequently. Overall, would go again!

Within the first steps into the establishment, you can tell this felt like a high caliber restaurant. The greeting service was impeccable, and overall staff was very friendly and efficient. We got a lot of apps and entrees to share with 3 ppl and each plate had flavour to it. The only lacking part was quantity but they nailed it with quality. The price point of the food was a little bit on the higher end but I guess one is paying for the experience of dining there. Great spot for casual dining with friends or partners

Delicious food, would strongly recommend these two dishes! The seating is a bit tight for COVID but otherwise loved this place. You may not get in without a reservation during the evenings but from the food it's clear why.

Lovely spot around Yonge and Sheppard. The atmosphere was nice and the servers were quick and helpful. Overall the food was good but portion sizes were small for a group of 6 sharing multiple plates. I left hungry and feeling like I ate a single appetizer plate. I suggest going with a smaller group for group appetizers but not for a meal unless you're prepared to spend a significant amount.

First time trying this place and everything was delicious! Highly recommend the beef short ribs, tiger shrimp, sliders, apple sushi. Sake sangria was very refreshing. It was packed on a Tuesday night so it’s definitely a popular spot and they do take online reservations.

  • 5/5 Augustine L. 8 months ago on Google
Walkin is usually only available before 6. Please make the reservation. But this is one of the best Sushi Roll Restaurants in North York! Also the oyster is a really good deal (Wednesday Special). Not a quiet place cuz people including us keep talking, but a good place to spend time with friends and family.

  • 4/5 Christina Q. 2 years ago on Google
Great night at nome! We got the Japa burgers sliders which are a must get. They are so flavourful! Also got the jade cocktail and a sangria, both felt a little watered down. Not pictured but the karage was great as well!

Nome is a fantastic izakaya. The oysters are fresh and taste fantastic. The monk tacos are so delicious. Highly recommend this place. 11/10

  • 5/5 Peter C. 1 year ago on Google
Great food. The sliders burgers were really good, so was the risotto. The tacos where a little dry, could use some more sauce. The oysters were OK nothing too special. Everything else were really good as expected.

  • 5/5 Flawnson T. 2 years ago on Google
Went for the oyster 🦪 night; fantastic experience. Service was friendly and very hospitable. Apart from oysters we had the takoyaki, lobster sushi roll, and monkfish tacos. We'll definitely be returning to try out everything else in the menu.

My friend and I visited Nome Izakaya for the first time and had a pleasant experience. We first heard about this restaurant because of their buck-a-shuck special on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You can sepect between PEI (unlimited) and Vancouver oysters. The oysters were delicious, the servers were kind and the decor was neat. They also have a lot of other options on their menu that I plan to come back and try. I also really love that you can plan ahead and make a reservation for either night. No one likes to wait for food or be denied because of a wait list :)

Had dinner with a group of 6 on their spacious patio. Pretty nice vibes but they had a mandatory 18% gratuity for a group our size. We tried various items. Their sushi rolls were not conventional but not my favourite. I liked the octo wasabi appetizer and it was pretty good with the oyster too.

  • 5/5 Vincent C. 10 months ago on Google
What a susprised for this little izakaya. We couple frds gather for drinks and food. They have $1 per oyster, which is good for what we came. We ordered 5 dozen with other food. Food is acceptional good. Service is fast for the 1st round. Abit slow for next round as the restaurant got busy at late night. It is a good place for some drinkz Nd food. Chill and relax. Highly recommeded.

So happy to be so close to one of my favourite spots for oysters, sushi rolls and other Japanese fares. Love the yuzu cocktails and unique take on dishes./ Absolutely love the salmon roll with asparagus and apple. Such an interesting flavour pairing and it was so filling! Definitely love bringing folks here for the vibe and it’s so conveniently located right off Yonge and Sheppard, near the highway and transit. Parking is tricky if it’s full but other than that it’s a great location. Make sure to try it out at least once and head over Tuesday and Wednesday for specials.

  • 4/5 Isabelle C. 11 months ago on Google
Food tasted pretty good. We enjoyed the seared salmon roll the most. However menu prices are on the higher end. Service was good and ambience was also nice. They have $1 oysters on Tuesdays and Wednesdays!

Ambience is really magnificent and server also friendly here. I tried there spicy mac cheese, oyster and last but not least apple pie with green tea ice cream. All the food items were really tasty and pocket friendly.

  • 5/5 Emiree 1 year ago on Google
My friend and I went here for dinner and enjoyed everything we ate. We had the Poke bowl, shrimp salad, gyoza with truffle cream, shrimp sushi roll. We even had room for dessert, the honey butter bread with ice cream for dessert! It's has up beat atmosphere and very busy place for dinner. I want to try the Shops at Din Mills location next time.

Food presentation is very good and very pricy too! Small restaurant and not fancy decoration. Food quality is an average and small portion. If you want to get full like dinner, please well prepare money to pay the bill! Try it once for special celebration like birthday is fine, but definitely won't come here for regular dinner to break my bank.

  • 4/5 Kate K. 1 year ago on Google
Very pricy, but tasty. Definitely a place to go out once a year, but not a regular place, otherwise you will go broke. Oysters 🦪 1$ a piece on Tuesdays are good, but the size is not big and you don’t really feel the taste. Was very excited to try this place at first, and after we tried it, the experience wasn’t as “wow” as we thought it would be as per other people’s reviews. 3.5 stars

  • 4/5 Steve N. 1 year ago on Google
Food was really good, taste was definitely there. Portions didn’t seem to match the price price tbh. Bulgogi tacos was really oily, too much mayo/sauce but the taste was very good. Sliders were amazing, very unique experience with those. Pork belly was very oily, I understand it’s pork belly but it just seems more unhealthy than normal. Overall pretty good

  • 5/5 Andrew T. 2 years ago on Google
Everything we tried from here was so good! Wanted to have a nice chill day with some good eats and this did not disappoint! Ordered the famed japaburgers, the tuna coin and I also added a half dozen oysters. As well cannot go to nomé without adding the soju and aloe. The japaburgers are a definite must order! The beef was just so juicy! And although it looks like a simple burger, it’s gonna be one of the top burgers you have had! The tuna coin was super creative and the rice base was deep fried with some seaweed and sliced thinly like a coin with the fresh fish on top! Oysters were super fresh and comes with 6 different sauces for you to try! Definitely gotta come back for $1 oyster days! For the soju and aloe, you won’t be happy ordering the 500ml, just trust me and go for the 1L! Service was on point! Waitress was super nice and recommended the tuna coin when we were looking for rolls! Great job overall! Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for better pics, vids and more amazing content!

Creative and delicious Good service even though the restaurant is full. Food is delicious and there are many choices. There are some creative and interesting dishes. There are 6 sauces pairing with the oysters, which is cool, however the oysters are on the small side. Although considering they are $1 per oyster, I can’t complain.

  • 4/5 Loy S. 2 years ago on Google
Food was amazing but service was not the best. Took a long time to get served at every course of the meal followed by giving us last call because our 90 min eating time was coming to an end though there were other seats open. Anyways, highlight was the amazing food

  • 5/5 Elanne B. 2 years ago on Google
this salad was incredible and the sliders were 10/10 I need to go back soon

  • 5/5 Lauren 2 years ago on Google
First time here, all the service staff was very friendly and cocktails were creative! We had fun squeezing our own grapefruit and putting just the right amount of simple syrup for the vodka sawas. You have to try the honey toast- honestly that dessert made my night.

The vibe is good for group gathering. The staff was really nice, willing to help. The food was nice as well. They provided different kinds of sauce for the oysters which was really good.
