Visited this restaurant on a early evening with my wife and my 4 year old daughter. We heard about this restaurant from a friend and decided to try it out. We didn’t make reservations but was promptly seated but advised that we needed to give out table up by 7pm. We arrived at about 5:10pm and and 7pm request was fine. Upon entering we were graced with a modern atmosphere and friendly and helpful hostesses and waitresses throughout our time dining. We heard about the Japa Burgers and ordered that, this was a wonderful flight of 3 sliders that were crafted beautifully and tasted good. I particularly enjoyed the garlic mayo that they used on these sliders. These sliders are larger then most other slider that one may be used to so just be aware of that. The next item we ordered was the Bulgogi Tacos, these were also portioned well and we enjoyed these as it has the same garlic mayo as the Japa Burgers. Our next item was the Nome Fried Chicken, it was nicely prepared, served hot and had a nice spice to it that provided a nice kick. A range of sauces is available with each order. We chose the sweet chilli sauce. We ordered the 21 piece sashimi (Moriawase) and enjoyed the fresh pieces of fish and excellent presentation of the items. We did try to order the 30 piece but they didn’t have that available, most likely due to not having any other varieties of fish available. That’s fine for our meal this evening. The next item was the Lobster Fantasy roll, we enjoyed this, but found it to be kind of normal tasting. They described this as a deep fried lobster tail roll. To be honest it could have been shrimp or deep fried crab and it would have been hard to taste the difference with all the other items on the roll. We also ordered the Crispy Pork Belly. This item was exactly as described, crispy pork belly! It was served with seaweed paste, fresh ginger and green onions. Our last item was the Yam Fries. This was delicious, generous portion and a hit with our 4 year old daughter. All in all, we enjoyed the dining experience and will return. They have a wide selection of items on their menu and I can’t wait to try more. My daughter actually wanted to try the Mac and Cheese item but they didn’t have it available for our dining that evening. Plenty of parking available at the Shops at Don Mills both covered and outdoor parking options. Thank you Nome Izakaya for the wonderful evening!

The atmosphere and the service were great. Would recommend their rolls, the risotto was creamy and their honey bread was good. This is a good place for a little snack and hangout with friends.

First time at this location, I love it. The food was so tasty, the service was excellent. We didn't have a reservation, so we got offered to be seated at the bar. Servers didn't neglect us at all very attentive yet still gave us space. Everything we ordered was delicious, and food came out at a great pace. Will definitely visit again.

Food was exceptional as always. You can never go wrong with this place. They did great with their fusion menu. Always so fresh and flavours on point. Definitely enjoy early family dinners here with our 6 years old right when they open. Avoid the later crowds. They also have deals on drinks and their Bellinis are very enjoyable.

Japanese fusion food place!! The food was decent and the atmosphere was great. We dine inside and it was well maintained and it was quite busy too. If you are looking for sushi’s this would not be a best spot for you. I don’t believe that the sushi they serve here is authentic because it has lot of different sauces added to it, which taste different but okay. Go there if you want to try good frest West and East coast oysters and some good drinks. Plenty of options to choose from too. I would recommend this place and it’s like a one time try definitely.

I've been to both the Yonge and Shops at Don Mills locations, and I personally enjoyed the vibe at the Yonge location more (maybe because the time we visited, there was a lot of good old school music playing), but the past few times I've gone have been at the Shops at Don Mills location just because it's easier when it comes to parking. The dishes are meant for sharing, so most are smaller portions designed for that aspect. Everything we ordered on this latest visit was yummy (nothing phenomenal, but everything tasted good). The service was friendly and decently attentive. The space is not the biggest but boasts high ceilings, and with patio season upon us, the space does double in size, with lots of parties seated outside.

Quick service and kind servers. The restaurant is clean and lively although a bit tight and smaller than you'd expect. Everything was exceptional! Recommended dishes are: - Oysters - Japa Burgers - Aburi Salmon Donburi (You can taste the smokiness!) Sushi rolls are expensive but massive! If you love oysters, I'd recommend coming on Tuesdays or Wednesdays for buck a shuck. Their East Coast oysters are fresh, tasty and succulent.🤤

My wife and I come here go to nome every year except for the pandemic year. The food is always great, the drinks are great and the service is great. Though I have to say the north York location is more fun. A sad note, they don't allow people to yell for the sake bombs anymore.

During my inaugural visit to a Japanese restaurant, I had the pleasure of indulging in Sushi and a variety of other authentic Japanese dishes. Although I must acknowledge that the establishment leans towards the higher end in terms of pricing, the culinary experience more than justified the expense. The delectable flavors of the dishes left a lasting impression, and the enjoyable company of friends further enhanced the overall experience.

It pains me to leave this review because normally I love this place. Their tapas, oysters and drinks are very good. The service is top tier and their atmosphere/vibe is so chill. My most recent visit almost turned me off the restaurant completely. First, pros: Service was excellent, server was attentive, seats and table were clean and readily available as i had made reservations prior. The food and oysters we ordered came quickly. Cons: Oysters were small sized and every single oyster had sand or shell in it (ive experienced it with a couple oysters before but EVERY SINGLE ONE WAS LIKE THIS ew), the hot food under or over seasoned, over cooked chicken kaarage made the dark meat tough (this hasnt happened before), same with the shrimp, I had chewy shrimp??When i attempted to order westcoast oysters from the menu, the server advisedbecause it was a tuesday oyster night that they didnt carry anything but those small sandy malpeques. We were so put off, we ended up leaving dinner early and heading to Dianas for Oysters instead. I recommend going to the Nome at the Northyork flagship location. I found my experience there MUCH better than this one by far.

Great atmosphere with prompt servers. The aburi salmon donburi by surprise was the winner of the night, very creamy and you get the taste of salmon in every bite. Ebi katsu was not bad too, juicy and tender. Oden was a bit too salty, not impressed. Lobster roll was average.

Nome nails it! Scored a great $1 oyster deal on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The Japa Burger is a winner, and the sangria hits the spot. Oh, and don't sleep on the fried chicken – it's seriously good. A tasty all-around experience!

We got wrong with the place, we were looking for a sushi place, but their menu has a few roll options and we find it unusual. I ordered double salmon roll (see photos) and couldn’t finish it. I believe we just did not get the right restaurant. However, I found this place as a nice place to try something new, the staff were super nice, friendly and assistive, the patio was clean and nice. The price is fair enough. I do recommend this place.

I always dine on their dollar oyster days(worth), great presentation, wonderful service and delicious food!! Generally I alone would eat around $50+ so if you are willing to splurge a bit then I highly recommend this place. The booking system they have on Yelp is very convenient I always use it never had any trouble.

Tried this place for the first time as my birthday gathering. Service was friendly and courteous when serving my friends and I to our table. Food was top-notch. The rolls were very filling. They gave me a sparkler to add to my birthday cake. Will definitely come back again!

Best date night spot at Shops at Don Mills. The food options are very wide and mostly fusion options, but you could easily come here and do a sushi only night. Everything is made with quality ingredients, and this spot has amazing oysters that keep me coming back.

Nomé Izakaya stands out as an exceptional spot for those seeking a unique and enjoyable dining experience. The Izakaya-style menu offers a delightful array of small plates, each bursting with flavor and creativity. The ambiance is chic and modern, creating a welcoming atmosphere for both casual gatherings and special occasions. The Kalbi is a must when go eat here! As well as the Japa burgers!!

Seen this place trending online so I had to check it out. Gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised as to how amazing it was. Everything we ordered was delicious. The servers were very informative and the service was amazing. We got our food very quick although the place was packed. The oyster and ribs were to die for. Very very good. I will definitely be going back to taste a few other items on the menu. Their lychee Martini was amazing. The atmosphere was great! A must try!!

to preface: this is not a restaurant you should come to if you want to get full. food was alright. their fried chicken had no love - majority of it was batter and the chicken was dry. seared salmon roll was alright in flavour but each one of them fell apart the moment you picked it up. the crispy pork belly was good but the sauce they put on top overpowered it; ask for less sauce if you order it. the fish was good. the gyoza with truffle cream sauce tasted like normal gyoza but the smell was rancid. the wara yaki was nothing special either. wouldnt visit again for a dining experience, but it’s alright for a night you want to get drunk, music was blasted to the max…

Thought the food was average, and the vibe to be worst than the Yonge location. Love the fusion approach to most of the items on the menu. However, it doesn’t do justice in incorporating them to become better. Please stop adding cream cheese to sushi :( Loved the cocktails and drinks though.

Our go to place for oyster and tasty short ribs. We love it!! I wouldn’t recommend their sushi, it’s not as good as the other dishes. It’s a really fun place to go on your cheat days and enjoy yummy foods. My bf and I go there at least once a month and the bill won’t pass $150.

The food was delicious! I can’t wait to go back. The mac and cheese - spicy was so good! Oysters were amazing, sushi was good, sliders were delicious!

We came on a weeknight and there was plenty of space. Service was amazing as they were accommodating (we were with a baby) and our server was very attentive. The atmosphere was only okay. For two people, we ordered the tuna brioche, baked oysters, unagi risotto, wara yaki (smoked salmon) and gyoza in truffle cream sauce. Out of the 5 dishes, we only liked the tuna brioche and wara yaki. The oysters were only okay, and we did not like the gyoza and risotto at all. We felt like the cream sauce did not go with the gyoza, and the risotto was way too mushy for our liking. Maybe some of their other menu items are better but the risotto and gyoza were under their "signature items", so we were very disappointed. Overall, we had a good time but wished the food was better.

While the food was undeniably amazing, the overall dining experience was overshadowed by subpar service. Despite the delicious dishes, the lack of attention from the staff greatly impacted our evening, making it difficult to fully enjoy the culinary delights the restaurant had to offer. Our waiter went missing half way through the night, no one asked us if we wanted dessert, or if we wanted to order anything else/another drink. We waited 30 minutes for the bill after 2 different servers brought us the bill and 10 minutes later brought a machine for payment. To add to the frustration, other tables received apologies for the wait, while some servers were visibly engaged in on-the-clock drinks. This further tainted the overall service experience at the restaurant. The overall experience with the servers really disappointed us and we will not be returning to this location.

Great place to share with food with friends. Decent portion sizes for Japanese tapas, highly recommend the eel risotto! Overall, very tasty and the service was quick. Grab a seat by the bar to watch the chef's cook your meal!

Went for oysters on Wednesday, and they did not disappoint. They offer east and west coast for 1$ each, with six sauces to dip with. Also got the sweet potato fries, but the portions are so small for the price. I would imagine most items on the regular menu are similar. The service was good, but the waitress did not notify me that sparkling water was extra (I should've asked to be fair). Overall I would return for the oysters (great in a group). Be sure to reserve by calling/online in advance.

Made reservations the night before when I called making a few inquiries about visiting this restaurant for the first time. We chose to sit outside which was nice on this cool summer Saturday. The service was very good and on point as the waitresses worked as a team to attend to all the customers. Their recommendations were spot on as they were knowledgeable of menu items and what they taste like. Madison stood out the best. Everything was great, no problems here. Some of the portion sides were a little on the small side but the taste was flavourful and unique.
