First time to eat out since pandemic. I would give 4.8 for this place. Good food, Good service,Good experience...I was bit surprised such good service. They were monitoring each table. If they saw you almost finished your food, they will come right away to ask if you need more. And also, real fast to delivery food. Overall, we will visor again for sure....

Great atmosphere and really lovely staff. We ate here the last day before dine in restrictions came into effect. No long wait times and the service was super speedy. The garlic beef is my favorite off the menu but honestly you can't go wrong with this place.

Every time I go to Toronto I visit Gyubee. The place is great. They have good quality meats and a variety of choices as an AYCE Jbbq joint. Ventilation is not bad so you dont smell too intense leaving the restaurant. Service was great and fast. Manager came and introduced himself and made sure everyone of their customers were leaving with a full belly and satisfied! They are also opening in Mtl for those who enjoy Gyubee in Toronto but live in MTL. Decent price for the decent quality they offer. Dont forget to try the creme brûlée at the end! Also was hoping theyd still do melona at the end but not anymore. They changed it to icecream now but we were to full to have any 😅 Great covid isolations too and staff all had masks! Respect! Love this place

The best ribeye ever, 39.99 for dinner is quite reasonable. However, I can not give more than three star in general due to the poor servant…… If you order ribeye more than two times they treat you like a beggar….. after three times you oils have to wait for longer time to get it……Add water? No way, you will have to ask them, they only add for yourself, never asked my family on the same table…… In total we spent 150$, three persons, tax and tip included. If you pay cash, 2$ off per person.

We tried out this restaurant and it was an amazing experience. We got the all you can eat special. You choose all the raw items you want and then cook them over the grill when you are ready. We may actually have ordered too much, but we were hungry when we arrived!! Anyway, our waiter was super helpful and suggested several items. We are big meat eaters and got the lamb, tongue, steak, squid, some vegetables and one soup order...my cousin loved it. For dessert we had the creme brulee. Everything was great and we practically rolled out of the restaurant. Unfortunately we arrived but 50 mins before they closed, so we had to hurry. It would be nice to give yourself some time, so you can pace yourself and eat calmly. Great food. Would go again. Wish we had something like this in Virginia.

If you're craving Japanese BBQ, Gyubee is probably one of the most well known places for it in the GTA. We went to get dinner here on a weekend and it was absolutely packed. The menu is full of options and they are delivered to the table pretty quickly as you order. They are also very attentive to the cooking area and replace the cooking tray often. Pop is also good to add as it has free refills. They are pretty strict on the two hour seating time so that's something to be aware of as you go with a big group. The interior is nice and clean as well.

First time at the Markham location - overall good AYCE Japanese bbq. Spent around $50 pp for a Sunday dinner (service charge 12% already included in bill, debit/cash only). The meats are marinated well and the service is fast. Desserts include unlimited creme brulee and 1 ice cream pp.

I was surprised how popular this place was on a Monday evening. While we were seated immediately, people that came steps after us had to wait. There were also quite a few people in the waiting area when we left. There was a wide selection of meats, seafood, and vegetable for grilling as well as many other side dishes and accompaniments. The staff were very diligent to come by and change the grilling surface frequently. They were also never far when needing to place an order for additional items. We really enjoyed the selection of meats - which were well seasoned. There is a 2-hour setting limit and payment must be made by cash or Canadian debit (which is clearly stated at the entrance).

The food was great, the beef options being a favourite. There are also some unique options that I haven’t seen at some of the other all-you-can-eat BBQ restaurants. The kimchi and the bibimbap rice dish were great (however, be careful if you don’t tolerate spicy food)! It can get a bit loud, but that’s more to do with the people that were there at the time. Great service, good atmosphere - it’s nice how they divide the tables to provide privacy.

I visited with my family for lunch on a Saturday. I've always been to Dundas, but this was my first visit to Markham. There was a parking space, so it was convenient, and the interior was spacious and comfortable. It's spacious, so it's nice that it's separated from the table next to it. I ordered the usual brisket and it was also delicious. Shrimp is plump and fresh. The ice cream cone I ordered for dessert was delicious.

This has always been talked about by my friends and workmates and good thing we had time to try it. We came in for lunch, which I guess is a good time, It's a bit packed but we're lucky to have been seated right away. Although it was lunch, you can choose to be served with dinner AYCE, more food to choose from. Their employees are fast to serve our orders, they were all nice and friendly. The place is superb, clean and spacious. We will surely come back for more ribs, and their side dishes. Parking is not an issue as well.

AYCE restaurant that’s worth the price! We definitely left full and satisfied! Great quality and variety of meats, seafood and other items included. Only two options for chicken however! Great amount of selection while not having an overwhelming amount of items! I like how there are dividers and curtains between majority of the tables allowing for more of a comfortable and semi secluded dining experience. Lots of variety in drink menu and free refills for regular soft drinks. Be sure to leave room for dessert with creme brûlée and soft serve ice cream to end the night :) Service is fast, and friendly. Would definitely recommend giving this location a visit!!

We had to wait 3hrs in line to get in, but the management found a spot for us quicker than promised. The customer service provided by our server was very high level. Enough variety of meat options for each person depending on what they like. We tried all the meats which for sure were all fresh and tasty! Mushrooms, and sea foods were awesome too!! I just didn't like the fact that they add up the tip by themselves!

I love this restaurant! Their food is great and the grill is amazing, as it cooks fairly quick. They routinely change the mesh for it so you don't eat charred food, also to avoid it getting caught on fire. The wait time is a little long but always expect it to be since the place is pretty small. Also the waitlist helps a lot. They highly highly recommend joining the waitlist via google maps/yelp before you arrive at the restaurant. I've only been here twice but I would totally recommend this restaurant. I have waited between 1-2hrs in both occasions, and they give you 1.45hrs to eat. The staff are kind and very attentive, unlike other cook-it-yourself-bbqs. They also serve your food quicker than others. I prefer Gyubee over everything similar now. I love everything they serve, I really have no complaints. Sure, maybe the price is a little bit steep but what else is not costly these days? Also, the soft serve is amazing!

Relatively a good All You Can Eat restaurant. The service is good, and the staff do their best, but the options on the menu are limited. All the cuts are fresh but fatty, and I would have loved to get more healthy options. Overall, a good spot to meet up with friends once in a while.

Definitely recommend this fun experience. Luxury Indoor BBQ experience with great Ambiance and welcoming setting. Away from the outdoors, away from the bugs and not having the BBQ scent imbedded into your pores. lunch on weekends, before taxes and gratuity lunch round up to approximately $25 per adult age 11yrs and up. Children 5-10 yrs old was $10 and Children under Four was less than $5. The fun part was cooking your choice of food and having the opportunity to thank/serve the cooked items to the elders or to someone you respect. I would strongly recommend making a reservation as the restaurant can get really busy especially when restaurant opens at lunch leading to dinner hours. Very professional and hygienic staff. Staff advise it’s a 90 minute seating limitation. As soon as we were seated and ordered food, the items arrived in less than 10 minutes. No need to worry about the place being Smokey or you smelling like BBQ. I was very surprised the exhaust system was very effective and very quiet!! The whole staff from Gyubee were very polite and efficient. . I appreciate the honesty when they informed us that tips were applied on the bill as there were 7 of us - non hidden surprises with the bill.👍🏼 Overall food was marinated to perfection, plenty of food choices, LOVE the light yet sweet dipping soya sauce, flame broiled taste was fantastic and best of all, excellent service!! Gyubee is a franchise done correctly. I live very close to the Markham one but it's always so busy, so I usually go to the Scarborough one. This week I tried my luck at the Markham location for lunch, and we were quoted a 1 hour wait so we decided to wait. We did end up getting a table exactly after the estimated time, which was much appreciated since we even had gone to the Costco nearby to kill time. We had arrived at 12:15 which is right after their opening at 12, and a few minutes after we signed up I noticed 20 more tables after us. So make sure to sign up as early as possible! Yelp waitlist opens only at 12:30 so that's probably why there was a huge number after us. The lunch menu is very good for $30. Yes, the dinner menu ($40) has a lot more items, but it's rare to find a good AYCE for $30 nowadays. Especially compared to other places like Shinta, that don't even offer a cheaper lunch menu. You can check their website for their menu and see that they offer some great cuts of beef for lunch, as well as my favorite bibimbap. The seating time is 1 hour 45 minutes which is very long for lunch. The service was fast and I felt no need to push myself to eat an unholy amount since it was only $30. The only thing I didn't love was the thick pork belly, which is more of a recent addition to the menu. Another recent addition is the chicken thigh, which actually cooks so well on the grill and gets a great char. But overall they have a great lunch selection and I'll definitely be back!

BS! We called 3 hours before going and they said we don’t need a reservation, Guess what they asked us as soon as we walked in “ Do you have a reservation” …….. and they told us to wait THREE HOURS for a table….., dont waste your time… 👎🏻 Fast forward 2 hours, We finally got a table , very nice and cozy Jin was our server , very nice and polite checked on our table every 15 minutes, took out the dirty dishes almost as soon as we put them aside. And the food was amazing 9/10 Recommend items : Prime steak Crème brûlée Prime kalbi Squid And sake steamed clam! Overall satisfied but they Definitely have to change their policies on reservation!!! Everyone should be able to reserve a spot and not have to wait 3 hours! There is a 2 hour limit when u sit down so that should even make it easier to give reservations!!? :)

I've been to the location in Ottawa only. First time here in Markham. Great location. Very clean and spacious. They have a couple more options that we don't have in Ottawa like the lamb. I really enjoyed the experience. Great staff that are very attentive.

Waiting time for walk in take 2 hrs or so, I advice to book in advance. Amazing food and service. Staffs truly cares about your experience and they're very attentive if you need to order more. Everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had. Highly recommend! ❤️

Food is great, both in flavour and quality of the meats. the servers are constantly checking on us to see if we want more food. They also made sure our grills are changed timely. They're very good at managing their time limit.

Amazing food.. the service was fast and swift. The meats were nicely marinated and the portion sizes were just about enough. Do keep a note on their waiting list because they tend to get filled pretty fast. Overall a good place to go on a date or with a small group of friends or family.

We went in after registering for the waitlist and as per their estimated time we got in 10min and early! We were greeted well and the General Manager Kang Liu seated us and made sure everything was good and our waiter P.K was awesome! He attended to us often making sure everything was ok and changed our fire mesh as needed! Service was very quick and the meat marination was awesome we loved the gyubee sweet soy marinated short ribs were so good! There was a rice dish with the running egg yolk on top the waiter recommended it was really good! Must try dish! Creme brûlée was awesome!!! Highly recommend this location! Place is clean, courteous people, respectful and they have a nice rhythm throughout their service! Will definitely come again with more ppl!

Be sure to put yourself on the Yelp waitlist before coming! There is a sitting area near the front entrance while waiting for a table. The service is excellent, but the quality of meat has slightly worsened compared to a few years ago. As for dessert, there is only vanilla ice cream in a cone.

First time eating at gyubee with friends and everything was exceptional! I’d like to give the biggest thanks to out server, Alex, who gave us amazing service. The meat was delicious and the portions were perfectly sized, with the miso beef brisket and lamb being the top cuts. Surprisingly, the crème brulée was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had.

Visiting Toronto from NYC where we have decent quality and AYCE buffet options when we came across Gyubee. What a place it is! I hardly ever give 5 out of 5 stars on rating but here I must. Wait time wasn’t too bad for 2 at early dinner - 15mins. Service was impeccable. Menu was vast and varied. Food was delicious and quality. No pressure from the restaurant with ample 2 hour time limit. Decor was trendy and restaurant clean. The ventilation system is amazing as upon leaving the restaurant we did not smell like BBQ on our clothes as is usual of most BBQ at table adventures! I highly recommend Gyubee and we shall be back when we visit TO again!

Great place for meat lovers. This is indeed a popular place we came in for early dinner by the time we left there was a big line up. I would recommend to everyone to try at least once.

I’ve been to Gyubee (Markham and Scarborough) multiple times and have waited a long time to leave a review. Because words cannot describe how incredible this place is. The concept is great, the meats/foods are exceptional and the service is also very good! Great selection of food items to grill with different marinades so there’s lots of variety. The table sauce and spice is the perfect compliment and goes well with almost all of the grill items. A few of my favourite items is the Bibimbap, the sweet soy marinated short rib, and the garlic beef brisket. Gyubee is also a great social environment. Experiencing Gyubee is a blast from the start of your meal till the end. All the servers are very helpful, very good, always smiling and incredibly friendly. The only knock I have on Gyubee - which isn’t even worth taking off a star - is the wait times. I recommend using the Yelp App to get on the waitlist. Even then sometimes I’ve waited 40 minutes at the restaurant. They are an insanely busy restaurant at peak times. However once you finish the meal, it’s easy to understand why they are so popular and why Gyubee is worth the wait. Regardless of wait times, I will always keep going back. Gyubee is hands down my favourite restaurant of all time. Go there with an empty stomach and ready to eat!

AYCE Meat... Definitely not a place for vegetarians. The meat is delicious especially the short ribs. Service was fantastic as they were attentive, friendly, polite and quick! The restaurant was clean and the servers switched out the grill regularly. The only reason why I gave them a 4 and not a 5 star is because they only accepted cash and debit which caught me off guard and especially since we were a group of 12. There was however an ATM on the premises and you rec'd a discount when paying cash. The last point I wanted to mention was that there wasn't much vegetables on the lunch menu to grill and only rec'd corn, zucchini and mushrooms. Not sure if the dinner menu has more. Like I said, gotta be a meat eater to make it worth a trip. I am a meat eater, and I will be back.
