Went here really looking forward to the ambiance however we were really disappointed with the cleanliness of the space. We went for Friday lunch and there was only one group at the restaurant other than us. Server told us we can choose to sit wherever we’d like but that wasn’t an easy experience. All the booths had some of debris looking like it’s never had a vacuuming done or they had odd white stains everywhere. The chairs were the same, some had full on dried curry stuck to the seats. In a COVID world, this felt unacceptable. We tried our best to find chairs that were fairly clean but we felt quite uncomfortable with that initial experience already. Service was great, our waiter was very attentive and was very honest about the portions. He also kept asking if everything was good and okay. Food came quickly but was okay and quite overpriced given the place isn’t maintained well. We ordered the Dum Phukt Lamb Biryani, Garlic Naan and the Butter Chicken. We felt something was missing in the flavour. Dishes were very colourful but the flavour wasn’t matching the visuals. Overall I wouldn’t ever be returning back given the lack of attention the restaurant places on cleanliness.

Enjoyed their lunch special with butter chicken, rice, naan, and a side. Price is a little high for what it is. The chicken tikka is a must try and has a nice kick of spice. We were seated near the washroom, which has a foul odor.

Loved the food, ambiance and top class service. Bread basket was our favourite - so fresh and flaky. I found gravies average. Would come back to try more.

Went here today for lunch with a group of six co workers. Much enjoyed the food here, we had a variety of items, chilli chicken dry and wet, the signature biryani, the noodles, and a few other chicken dishes. Great spice and flavouring, very unique and delicious food here in Markham, Ontario. Would visit again!

The food tastes great. We ordered panner sabji, biryani, naan and chicken. Everything so good taste wise. And i am deducting one star because of cleanliness. The place seems less clean as compared to other restaurant standards.

Loved the food and service at this spot. We tried their biryani which came underneath a piece of naan which locked in the moisture. This method of cooking makes the rice so much more aromatic and delicious. The cocktail presentation was also out of this world. Highly recommend this spot for fine Indian dining!

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. I highly recommend getting their “dum phukt” menu which comes served in a stone pot and sealed with a piece of naan! The food is rich, flavourful and aromatic and the service was attentive.

Dum Pukht is your one stop for satisfying your late night Indian food cravings. Afterall, they are open until 6am! We enjoyed a variety of delicious Indian dishes but if you come here you must try their Dum-Pukht Biryani, which is what they are known for! Aesthetics, presentation, taste, flavour, smell, it's all there! Their garlic naan paired with their Rogan Josh was also one of our favourites. The lamb meat was just so tender and the sauce was just perfection in flavour. Don't skip out on ordering drinks or dessert either. They have an extensive menu for both but we went with the classics, mango lassi to start and gulab jamun to end our meal. Feeling adventurous, we also tried one of their popular mocktails, the Indian style lime soda, which proved to be both an interesting and unique compliment to our Indian feast. I was so impressed by the ambiance, service and food at Dum Pukht! The restaurant looks and feels so modern and the food is incredible. The butter chicken, butter/garlic naans, and the Dum Pukht biryani were the best I think I've tasted so far! I would highly recommend trying this place out if you're looking for a delicious Indian restaurant.

The food is good but I like the ambiance more. The place is great to chill and to have dinner or lunch and the seating arrangements is cool with nice lights and bar is cool .

the owner needs to hear this. only had 2 servers over a busy weekend service was bad. both servers were very nice and very apologetic. I felt sorry for them. they were clearly very tired. they simply did not have staff to look after the dining room. took 90 min for our order to arrive. they were butter nann, biryani and butter chicken. they should either limit the number of patrons or hire more staff. there were half dozen Uber waiting in the parking lot to get their take outs. it took 2 and half hours for this meal. food is good but unfortunately the service was a very low point.

We had the pleasure of eating at Dum Pukht last night. I have to say the food was amazing. We tried the dumb mutton, non and some tandoor. It was very authentically prepared and very nicely presented. The services was fantastic as well. The waiter really knew his menu, really recommended the right combination of dishes. However the overall cleanliness was not up to par. The chairs were very dirty; we have to move few times to find the table with relatively dirt free chairs. The bathroom was so so as well. I hope the management will pay attention to this & have it steam cleaned or something. But for me I will definitely eat there again regardless of the dirty chairs since the food is spectacular 🤣

I recently had the pleasure of dining at an Indian fine dining restaurant in Markham, ON, based on a friend's enthusiastic recommendation. The experience was truly exceptional from start to finish. Upon arrival, it was evident that this restaurant was in high demand, filling up rapidly with a constant stream of customers. The ambiance was captivating, striking the perfect balance between elegance and warmth, setting the stage for a memorable evening. The service staff deserves special commendation for their courteous and prompt service. They greeted us with welcoming smiles and maintained a high level of attentiveness, ensuring that our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. The culinary journey began with the Lamb Kebab, which stole the show. The tender, well-seasoned lamb pieces were cooked to perfection, leaving a lasting impression. Alongside this, the Fish Amritsari offered a delightful contrast in textures and flavors, making it another standout dish. The chutneys served with the appetizers were a delightful surprise, adding an extra layer of taste to the entire experience. For the main course, we savored the Chicken Rara with Garlic Naan. The flavors in this dish were a burst of delight. The spices and the tender chicken created a harmonious blend of tastes, perfectly complemented by the Garlic Naan. In conclusion, my visit to this Indian fine dining restaurant in Markham was a true culinary delight. The captivating ambiance, exceptional service, and, above all, the exquisite food left an indelible impression. It's no wonder the restaurant is always buzzing with patrons.

I visited for the first time last week. I thought the food was fantastic and certainly one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve tried in the Toronto area. I tried a few dishes but the ones that stick in memory are the chicken korma and lamb seekh kebab. Both were incredible. The only negative was the service. It was a bit slow, and they forgot to include the Jeera rice we ordered. By the time the rice arrived I had already eaten half of my curry. No apologies etc which was frustrating. But the food was good enough to make up for the average service. I’ll visit again for sure.

I am extremely disappointed with our visit to one of the top-rated restaurants. This was a special occasion as my mother was visiting us from India, and we were excited to treat her to a memorable dining experience. However, our expectations were shattered, leaving us with no desire to ever visit this restaurant again. To start off, we ordered two fresh lime sodas to quench our thirst. Little did we know that these drinks would be served at a temperature so cold that we were unable to enjoy them. With the very first sip, our teeth felt like they were freezing and it was a struggle to even take another sip. Moving on to the starters, we opted for the Veg Mixed Grill. To our dismay, the dish lacked any sort of flavour whatsoever. It felt as though the chef completely ignored the importance of seasoning. Furthermore, the mushrooms that were included in the dish were completely burned, rendering them inedible. Considering we had to spend $32 on this disappointing dish, it felt like an absolute waste of money. We didn't order the main course after getting this awful experience. This restaurant is in dire need of more experienced chefs who understand the art of cooking and bring flavour to their dishes. Additionally, the exorbitant prices charged by this establishment are unjustified given the awful service and lackluster food quality. In light of our disappointing experience, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this place to anyone.

The food is fantastic!! Super flavourful and the clay pot biryani is a must-try! Really great service too but they do get quite busy in the evenings.

If you want to dine in an authentic Indian restaurant, come here! I enjoyed nice appetizer and delicious (but spicy 🥵) beryani in this restaurant. Everything is prestigious and prices are ok.

Food and service was impeccable. Management needs to have a word with work their HVAC contractor to improve air circulation. With bbq items on sizzlers for a party table seated next to us , the smoke alarm got triggered, staff had to open the doors and place got cold.

Attentive to the detail! This restaurant will surely surpass all expectations. From the moment we walked in, our host was very professional and courteous. The ambience was pleasant and elegant with soft lighting and music. The kids enjoyed the mango Lassi; Their bottle service is great also. The food came very quickly, and not only was it busting with flavors, the spice level was spot on! You make sure to select a spice level you're comfortable with! Their Hakka Chinese is a must try! We had chicken sweet corn soup, tandoori mixed grill, butter chicken, chicken dum-pukht, Naan and some oh so yummy and flaky lacha paratha. Would have loved to try some of the deserts, but by the time we were done eating, we had zero space left for desert. Will definitely be back here. It is money well spent!

The food is pretty good, I’m surprised I never heard about them. Our server Gaurav made the experience amazing for us. He had in-depth knowledge of every single dish and was pleasant to talk with. The best thing about the restaurant other than food is that it’s open until 6 am in the morning which is rare in Canada.

I must say, it was an extraordinary experience. The ambiance was charming, with soft lighting and tasteful decor that created a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The menu was offered a delightful fusion of flavors. Each dish was meticulously prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients that showcased the chef's culinary expertise. The flavors were well-balanced and inventive, leaving my taste buds dancing with delight. The staff Anup was attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring a seamless dining experience. Overall, it exceeded my expectations in every way. It is a gem of a restaurant that deserves all the praise it receives. I cannot wait to return and explore more of their mouthwatering creations.

Amazing food. Came across this restaurant randomly while I was in the neighborhood and was pleasantly surprised by the food. We got Amrisari Fish, Rogan Josh, Dum Pukht Biriyani, and Mango Lassi. Every dish was worth trying! Would definitely visit again!

Had a wonderful dinner. Live chat was a great experience, and delicious! Its nice to see a local restaurant trying unique ways to present food. Drinks also had a unique presentation. Great service from Anees, friendly and attentive. He let us know about these new dishes with the live experience. Dinner was delicious as always.

My experience at Dum Pukht has been mixed. The ambience is okay, nicely laid out plan but the old chairs and old cushions doesn't reflect a feel of a gourmet restaurant. We were seated in a table where we found a white spider crawling, thus laying the foundation of an unpleasant experience. We had our tables changed but the mood was off already. The mood was hugely uplifted with the first food on the table - ajwain paratha, lamb seekh kebabs and chicken kebab platter. The kebabs were delicious, melt in the mouth and aptly accompanied by the paratha. The signature item dum biryani was a huge letdown. We asked for mild, but what was given was too hot to handle for us. The waiter explained - it cannot be milder than this as the lamb is prepared spicy only. I only hope this was explained when we were placing the order and wanted a mild one. Coming to taste - it is one of the worst biryanis I have ever eaten. The rice was mushy, void of any flavour other than chilli along with those disappointing boneless lamb pieces. Coming to service. Its not what we expected out of a $$ restaurant. Waiters doesn't know basic protocols - took utensils away when we were eating, mixed the remaining lamb kebabs with chicken kebabs in one tray just to clear out the table without asking us whether he can do so, didn't explain the biryani spiciness level when we were ordering, and brought chicken biryani when we ordered lamb biryani (this is perfectly okay as mistakes can happen). He charged us for the chicken biryani ($2 less) but it doesn't make any difference to our experience. Overall not at all satisfied and not at all recommended from my end.

I recently dined at a restaurant that left a lasting impression on me. The atmosphere was quite good, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. Moreover, the car parking space was also vast, making it convenient. While the service was a bit slow, surprisingly, the restaurant was not crowded. Despite this minor setback, the taste of the food made up for it. The dishes were not only delicious but also had a unique and delightful flavor profile. I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed the biryani. Considering the overall experience, I would highly recommend this restaurant for its excellent atmosphere and scrumptious food. Nonetheless, the culinary delights are worth savoring, making it a place definitely worth visiting.

Big authentic Indian restaurant that houses authentic Indian food. But don't be mistaken, they also serve Hakka food as well. Personally, I've been here multiple times and it never fails to disappoint. The samosas are crunchy, soft on the inside and filled to the brim with potato and vegetables. The entrees of curry and biryani are absolutely 🔥 and so filling. Any type of biryani is massive in portions as well as flavourful as it is housed in a naan bread bowl. Of all the foods we ate (which are all smashing), the garlic naan is the best. It's crunchy, garlicky, buttery and it melts in your mouth. By far the best naan I've ever had, it's almost like drugs. Though the dishes are slightly pricey 10-30$ per dish, the food is to die for.

Had a really good experience with service. Sitting was nice and comfortable. Food was served well and quickly. The mango salad was really delicious. For some reason the same vegetarian cheese butter masala that we had in the restaurant was really great... didn't turn out the same we had in take out... I don't know why...just was not same quality. But overall 4/5 👍🏻
