This is the worst place to service your car. You wouldn't know how long you would wait for a 20-minute service with an appointment! it could be 2 hours, 3 hours, or more, IF THEY DO IT AT ALL. I had an appointment on Wednesday 4pm. I dropped my car at 3:45. They did the paperwork and took my car key. At 4:30 they called me and said the Tech had just left and they didn't have anybody to do my winter tire change!! I understand, emergency happens. Although it was very inconvenient for me as I took an hour off my work to make my appointment on time, I came back and took my car. Made another appointment for Saturday 10:30 am. I was there 10:20. I expected, this time, they make up for their fault and wasting my time on Wednesday, but unfortunately I had a worse experience!! My car was brought in at 12:30!!! 2 hours after I left the key with them! Eventually, job was done at 13:15! And it wasn't just me. All the other costumers had the same experience. They all waited more than 3 hours for the most simple services. Some were loud and took "free oil change coupons", some left after hours of waiting without any service, and some were waiting as they had already wasted all their weekend morning. They are so short staffed. And the worst part is they wouldn't let you know any time estimate at the time you are checking in! Never going to go back there again even for the free oil change!

    1. I bought a ladder on Sep 10 2. It was too heavy for my wife. I did not use it at all. 3. I wanted to return the ladder on Sep 19. The product was intact. 4. The employee refused the return and claimed that ladders are not refundable. She also claimed that it is written somewhere. 5. I took the heavy ladder back to home searched online and the receipt. There was no such policy. 6. I went to the store again and they said it is written in the aisle of the store. I went to the aisle. There was no sign. 7. They repeated no refund even though there was no written policy. 8. I ask them to let me talk to a manager. They refused. 9. I called Canadian Tire Call Centre. First, the employees lied that the package was used. I requested the evidence. Eventually they told the call centre their store policy dictates no refund for ladders. 10. Eventually I was offered in-store credit after 2 hours. I had to take it because it is was late. 11. I was supposed to get a phone call from the store manager. No one called me for two days. 12. I went to the store again on Sep 22. I was able to meet a manager by accident. 13. The manager was surprised at the fact that the employee had said no refund for ladders. He said sorry and promised retraining. Still the employee who had wasted my two hours never apologized. I finally received the refund. What a waste of time because of the stupid employees.

I called this Ctire store & asked the auto service rep to book an appt for an oil change. He asked me to book online so I did for a 4pm appt a week later. After booking online, I called the store and the rep ensured me that I would get my car back before closing time of 5pm. I subsequently received 3 follow up emails from ctire to take my car in 15 mins prior to my appt time on the day of. So on the day of, I dropped off my car at 3:40pm. The counter service rep told me to come back at 4:55pm to pick up the car after the oil change. I got back at 4:45pm and the rep told me that the oil change was done and that I should go to the wait room to wait for his call to pay. 30 minutes later he told me that the air filter for engine and cabin needed changing at which point I agreed. I knew then that the oil change had not been completed as he had stated and was in process. He came to me at 6:15pm to pay. After I paid by credit card, he told me that the transaction had to be cancelled because of a mistake he made. He then called a store manager to authorize the transaction cancellation who insisted I had to go to customer service to cancel the transaction. So I went to cust service and waited for 15 minutes there without any success. This manager then sent us back to the original auto service rep to cancel the transaction. By this time it was around 645pm and I had been there for over 3 hours for a 20 minute job. Not once did the manager or service rep apologize for all their delays and incompetence. The rep kept blaming the online booking procedure for the cause of the delays. I told him and the manager that it was a service rep from this store that had asked me to book online but they didn't want to hear it. I was very frustrated at the lack of responsibility from the rep and manager. They could have apologized by accepting full responsibility of the delays but deflected it completely by blaming it on the online booking protocol. An apology would have sufficed but it never came. Completely and utterly unprofessional and misleading. Shameful management practice.

On my last visit to this location, a merchandiser named Zack/Zach was stocking shelves without a mask. I politely asked him to put one on, as it is a requirement by the Provincial government, as well as store policy. He rudely declined, so I spoke with his manager (though Zach would not provide his name or any other information to me). He was told *three* times by three different superiors to put it on, and he outwardly refused. He claimed to have a medical condition (which is totally fair if true), but given his superiors asked him to do it repeatedly, I imagine there was no medical exemption provided. Absolutely pathetic display of customer service, and an astonishing reflection of this store's ability to manage their own staff. Avoid this place at all costs, and I will be filing a claim with Richmond Hill Bylaws (not that I have all that much confidence in them anyway) as well as CT corporate. Zack's manager Sahand was very polite to me and other customers though while handling the situation, and did his best to convince Zack to do the bare minimum that's required of him.

This is a terribly organized store. I walked in on weekend early evening. There are many customers trying to find help and can’t find staff around. I spent more than 5 minutes to catch a staff to open a cabinet for electronics. They spent the next 30 minutes trying to find the staff who has the only key and they failed. They didn’t know who has it. They tried to find it in the storage and it took another 10 minutes and they still didn’t find it. I would never visit this store again. ========================================================== Update after receiving owner's response: I did reach out to store manager to complain about this situation after I waited for more than 30 minutes for someone to come with a key. He was no help at all. The only thing he did was to explain to me why they can't find the only key. After the staff went to check the back storage and didn't come back for more than 10 minutes, I talked to the manager again and he was not able to get anyone back to tell me if there is any in the back storage either. He walked by me multiple times after I complained to him and was still waiting hopelessly and didn't offer any comfort or talk to me. I got so frustrated that I almost walked out the store in tears. This is the worst shopping experience in my whole life!

Looking for a car part and had quick friendly service. This store is and always has been a mess. You can barely pass by an aisle without seeing something blocking it. Night and day compared to the other store I visited in Toronto last month. Update: Spring 2023. Never buying seasonal plants here again. Second time I’ve got them here and second time they are not good. They aren’t flowering.

Lots of items for the home and garden. Big and spacious. Quick check out lines. Good paint section. Has an auto repair shop. Staff are helpful but at busier times they seem like they could use more staff. Happy to support one of the few remaining Canadian retail chains.

Worst place to pick up your online orders. Pack your patient seems like they are Extremely under staff and yet company with this size across the country can’t effectively and efficiently plan out the crub side pick up process. 1. Lack of pick up spot marked. Lots of parking space here but only about 20 that are marked. 2. Call in to the store and they said order is out within 10 mins yet 20 mins pass by and almost everyone still here waiting and more car has pull up. 3. People are getting out of the car because there is no other parking spot and walk upto the store front to look for a staff. 4. All the attention is turn to the people in the store front and they all got the items b4 everyone else wait in the car !!!!!!!!!! @canadiantire what is the point of crub side pick up and where’s the promise ?!? Worst planning ever! You need to hire someone that is qualify for this !!!!!

Updated: lucky they found the one in the warehouse and made an exchange for me. sales associates are helpful. Still the mistake wasted my Saturday for traveling between Canadian Tire Garage. Worst experience experienced in Canadian Retail. Purchase tires and give me invoice showing correct size, returned home and realized one tire is in wrong size when installing 2 months after purchase.

AVOID THIS STORE! I was at this Canadian Tire to return a ladder that I purchased 3 days ago. This was a $120 4Ft Maximum Ladder however it was 'rocky' and unstable. When approaching the Customer Service Desk, I heard one employee (Mai - who refused to give me her name until the third time I asked) mention to the other (Nina), "Don't take it back it looks used". Mai started inspecting every inch of the ladder, stating there was some dust on the steps (They are all scratched up and filthy when they are new in store). The feet were in perfect condition, to which she carefully examined and agreed with. They then accused me of buying the ladder with the intention to use it and return it, which was not the case. Mai also mentioned that my digital scan of the receipt is not valid for a return, and I needed the physical copy (another lie). Mai called the manager Patricia and whispered something to her on the phone before she came so I couldn't hear. At this point I said "Why have none of you asked me why I will be returning this?" To which they still had no interest in an answer to. I just wanted to explain that it was unsafe for such an expensive ladder, and was not suitable for my needs. Patricia comes over and says "Ladders have a final sale policy", which as she later read online is incorrect, and they have the same return policy as any other item at CT. Then she said "Any item that is opened is not allowed to be returned, only exchanged". I explained that to test it out, you have to open the ladder and stand it up, and it was never used. I told them how I bought a Featherlite ladder (from the Home Depot on the same street) that was much more stable, and that this one felt unsafe. Patricia was completely unprofessional, and did not take the time to listen to any of my concerns about the ladder, did not ask the reason I am returning it, nor even take a look at my receipt to see that it was just purchased. She continuously told me that Canadian Tire has NEVER taken back opened or used item, which is a complete lie. Needless to say, I went to another store and they took the ladder back no problem. They asked me for the original piece of paper that was shoved between the steps (which I had in the car and was never asked for at the other store). After speaking with the employees there, they were shocked to hear about this experience, and confirmed that opened items are regularly returned. I am unsure as to what the justification for this unprofessional and inappropriate behaviour by the staff. Since it started before I even approached the returns desk, I can only assume there were prejudices involved. I have been a loyal Canadian Tire customer for many years, and I have never been treated with such disrespect. If the owner of this store sees this review, please let me know the best way to contact you in the reply, and I would be happy to reach out and discuss further.

Canadian Tire is a well-known Canadian retail company that offers a wide range of products including automotive parts, tools, sporting goods, home appliances, and more. They have a large presence across Canada and are often considered a go-to destination for home and automotive needs. The stores are typically well-organized, clean, and staffed with knowledgeable and friendly employees. While some customers have reported issues with pricing or inventory availability, overall, Canadian Tire receives positive reviews for their product selection, competitive pricing, and customer service. Many also appreciate the convenience of their online shopping options and loyalty program.

This Canadian Tire is always well stocked. I often come here when I need something immediately and can't wait for it to be delivered. It is also clean and well-organized. The only thing is staff always looks so miserable.

Very weak customer service, they were not able to handle basic issue in sale. A glove was tagged for 7.99 and billed 19.99 $ by their mistake, initially the ignored me when I found out and then when they realized their own mistake they responded were impolitely to me. Unfortunately my time was wasted for half an hours finally a very confusing and rude and impolite behaviour by a customer service clerk, she left the items on table and went without even returning my money. Finally another staff came and returned my money . Very disappointing but it seems Canadian tire has not been able to provide enough professional training to staff and they have problems internally with keeping enough professional staff in this store. Top managers need to walk and supervise the floor staff. Never shopping here again.

I bought a water softener and picked it up from this store (curbside pickup). When a contractor came to my place to install the water softener, he opened up the box, and there was a used water softener with a horribly-looking brownish stain all over it. I called CT customer service, and they told me to contact the store directly. Then, I contacted the store customer service department, and they were already very irritated and demotivated to assist in resolving my issue. They cut me off and put me on hold for a long time, and then transferred to a different department. However, nobody picked up the phone, and it was automatically disconnected. First of all, why/how did they give me a used one with a huge stain on it? Secondly, why/how dare they responded like this even after I'd explained my circumstance and asked for their assistance. Very disappointing 😞

Terrible experience here. This Canadian Tire was the only one that had stock for some of the items I desperately needed. Ordered online and went to pick up the next day when it advised me my items are ready for pick up. Guess what happens? 3 out of 5 of the items I ordered were wrong. I went to return them immediately and the supervisor or whatever title she had was giving me the hardest time saying the items are correct. I showed her the products on my phone and they were nowhere near the same. I even pointed at the product number, which were completely different. Luckily she stepped away (randomly and unannounced, just stopped helping me) and another lady assisted who was very kind. This store needs to seriously train all their employees properly. One rotten apple can truly ruin it for everyone.

Awful customer service! Went to this location on April 21, 2023 to get an estimate for the cost of replacing rear brake pads and rotors for my car. Unfortunately, their agent at Auto Shop who introduced himself as Ryan, refrained to give me an estimate and insisted that I should pay around $50 and take my car inside to be inspected first and then they would give me the estimate. I explained that my car was already inspected by the dealership and they have informed me what repair is required. But Ryan didn’t accept it and said that since their shop needs to make money, I must pay the inspection fee first and then get the estimate for the repair. I didn’t pay that amount and took my car to another Canadian Tire location where they gave me the estimate in a couple of minutes. So, I had my car fixed by them.

This is a review for the service garage. My husband took his car here for an oil change; a $70 oil change turned out to be a $3000 bill. There was an issue with the latch on the hood which the technician did not communicate to him. My husband drove away with a faulty hood unknowingly. The hood ended up flying up on the highway and smashing the windshield of his car. We talked to the manager at the garage who claimed that it was not their fault, even though there had been no previous issue with the car until the oil change. The manager claimed they are not liable even though they were aware that there was an issue with the faulty hood and did not tell us. Took it up to head office who redirected us back to the garage saying because it was franchised it is the garage's responsibility. Thankfully no one was hurt or killed because of this negligence but even if someone was I am sure Canadian tire would say it is " not their responsibility." If you value safety I would advise to go elsewhere for your car to be serviced.

Paid more than the displayed price! I made a purchase today (8/02/2022) at Canadian Tire store #087 at Richmond Hill. The price of the item on the shelf was $11.49. When I paid at the cashier, I was charged $14.99. I talked to the manager Vijay at the store and went with him to check the price. He discovered 3 other items of the same product were wrongly put under the $11.49 shelf. I requested him to honor the "Scanner Price Accuracy Code" which was displayed at the customer service desk and he refused. Will file a complaint to Canadian Tire customer service.

Very long wait time to pick up1 item. I will avoid this location in future. Curbside pickup from Home Depot is way faster. CT should follow their process where you wait in car for your order to be delivered. Clearly this is not working for CT.

My husband sent his car to change the front brake pad and install windshield wiper (which was bought from Costco). They called and said the windshield wiper doesn’t match the car model, so we agreed to buy and use their own. When we went pick up the car, the windshield wiper installation fee is charged but the wiper is not changed! :( so we had to wait half and hour for them to install windshield wider. They randomly trying different wipers on and in the end told my husband they don’t currently have a model that works with our car. And guess what, after driving home, my husband read the instruction of the windshield wiper we bought and very easily installed it on! It make last me really questioning their ability and now I don’t know if the brake pad has been changed, yet we are charged $900…

Hi guys do avoid Auto service at Canadian Tire Richmond Hill since you will be risking your own life repairing car there. I sent my car there with engine light error. They repaired it for over $1500 and told me all issue fixed. One week later, when we were driving on highway, we suddenly felt a speed loss and it was horrible. Engine light error came back again! I went to store again for the repair and they said “oh this is another issue within your transmission which is not covered by your previous repair warranty.” Okay fine. I paid another $500 for the repair and the error came back the day after again!!! Joke: they charge you $119 to diagnose the issue every time. I went back for refund but the store told me I had to go to customer relationship. Customer relationship case manager John is a typical politician and he didn’t care about his customer. He told me I need to talk to store for refund and I should go to dealership for repair. It’s nothing to do with his team. No one is responsible for this. I used to buy car and home parts at CT and had my Canadian tire Mastercard. It’s sad to see this giant Canadian company offered such unqualified auto service and terrible customer relationship. I will file a complaint to Ontario government about this auto service as it does pose a huge risk if you repair your car there. Guys do avoid your car repair here. Maybe only for TIRES repair as it is named as “Canadian Tire”.

Clean store, well stocked and has a lot of little knickknacks thought you might not even know you were looking for or needed. The aisles are spacious enough and are not crammed unlike the one in Centerpoint mall where they stack things to the roof. Sometimes it's hard to find a staff to ask for things but overall it's a good store to shop at. They also have a Party City section where you can get balloons and stuff for parties.

Automotive department is so disorganized! They need a different lineup system and only serve people that have automotive service requests! Reps call on customers that are not at the front of the line and it’s a whole mess! Reps will have very lengthy conversations and transactions with customers and waste everyone’s time discussing tires!

I am currently in line for curbside pick up at CT, Silver Linden, Richmond Hill. It is simply horrific. They used to have parking spots and the goods get delivered to the car, now you have to line up and there are possibly 3-4 spots to park before you can self check-in. I will not shop here again if I have to sit in the car to wait at least 30 minutes for a curbside pick up. There are likely 12-15 cars in front of me and exactly 17 behind me.

I recently visited this Canadian Tire location for a price adjustment on an item I purchased at another branch. My experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the customer service team to the manager, and even a brief interaction with the owner, each staff member was incredibly accommodating and genuinely dedicated to resolving my issue. Their collective efforts and kindness made a lasting impression. I wholeheartedly recommend shopping here not only for the excellent service but also to support these remarkable individuals who truly make a difference in our community. Their dedication is a prime example of what makes a great customer experience.

I had a bad experiences when returning the electrical heater product which I repacked it in the original package. A young cashier asked if I been used it. I told her that I only tested if the product made any lound noise. Then she refused to accept the product because it considered been used and she found a short string of hair on it; the manager was her side when being call in. End up I returned to another Canadian store where the product was being brought. Honestly I only plugged it in the electrical outlet and determined the noise level. I understand that are some bad apples out there. I do hope that they can use good judgement for the return merchandise. I was told now that they only give out store credit/exchaneg in certain products. I would prefer to shop at other competitors instead because I don't need the stress when dealing with the returning policy.

I went to this Richmond Hill location instead of the one in Aurora where I live because the RIV inspection guy there (Doug) in Aurora is extremely rude and they all have a chip on their shoulder which I don’t understand why. The man here that’s from Tasmania is incredibly nice and gentle! however, there was one person behind the desk. He was a young man, younger than everyone who worked there, and he tried to turn me away at 10 AM in the morning because I didn’t have ONE form with me after I’d already called ahead and he told me nothing about getting this form. I called the RIV phone number and they told me that all Canadian tire should either have the online version or they could easily print it for me from my phone. I went back in line to talk to him, and it was a new person behind the desk, the Tasmanian man and I was very grateful because he immediately told me that he can do the online version or print out the form for me. I’m very glad I went back in line and didn’t decide to do the 30 minute drive back home and listen to what that young guy told me I don’t know if it was his first day or not but he definitely needs a reality check and to lower the tone in is voice.

Huge store with stocks of all kind household items. The garage dept may be the most comprehensive of CT store. Staffs are nice. Adjacent big boxes are many and much appealing to shopping and pasting the time with.

Got served at your location by cashier 40101. I wish I could understand her name, but she had no name tag. I am buying Bounty Kitchen Paper Towel, she scans the item and it comes on it is regular price even though is with different price tag on the shelf. She asked to walk half of the store, take a picture of the tag and bring it to her personally so she can give me the right price. The store has no other co workers or it is normal to make your customers prove you own price by humiliating them, make them feel sorry they even bother to walk in? Well, lesson learned, I will give my money to other chains.

Amazing customer service! Return was handled professionally and expediently without hassle. The replacement item I wanted wasn’t on the shelf, but an associate was able to find one - huge thanks! Complete opposite experience to the Major Mackenzie and Woodbine location. That location refused the return of this item under the excuse that they have their own return policy that is different from the corporate policy printed on the receipt (they tried to convince me into taking an exchange despite it qualifying for a true refund). Strongly recommend you choose this location on Silver Linden instead of the location at Major Mackenzie and Woodbine.

They had no one qualified to do the propane tank refill. I paid for the propane only to find out once I'm standing in front of the refill station 10 minutes later that there was no qualified personnel. I believe that during high BBQ season (Saturday during the summer) you should at least have one of your personnel available to provide the service.

I was at the store recently to pick up something I had ordered online. They have a convenient locker system to pick up online orders that allows you to bypass customer service. Key in the four digit pin code received in the email confirmation if the qr code scanner is not working. Locker door will pop open. Way better than curbside pickup.

I've been going to this location for over a decade as it's close to me. The service here is never better than bare minimum but usually tolerable. Things just went ridiculous today when I visited at around 7pm. It's not busy at all, only a few customers waiting to pay, but I had to wait for more than 15 minutes. 3 of the 8 cashier stations had their lights on showing available to check out but there's not even one cashier at their station! They also had 3 self checkout machines, but one was out of service, another got stuck showing "waiting for assistance" and the previous customer having abandoned as they couldn't wait longer so this machine not available for use as well. So the entire store had only one self checkout machine, which ran out of paper so you can't get receipt. The customer before me needed receipt so he had to wait for assistance. The only employee working at the customer service besides the checkout was busy processing some complex transactions with other customers. I felt really bad for that hard working employee firefighting everywhere but how outrageous it was for a store this size to have only one (half working) checkout station in the entire store!

I did my first service repair at this location. I was extremely pleased with the front counter service knowledge, courteous and quick service. The repairs were done in a timely manner, the parts were ordered in advance and everything went smoothly, my car was ready before the expected time. I would definitely return to this store for future car service. Thank you

I've been to this location twice in about 2 weeks. It's fantastic! I called to verify that two items were in stock, because I went to another CT store and even though they listed it as available and having several, they didn't. This location has accurate inventory on their website. When I called to verify that they had the items, the customer service person was very friendly and helpful. They did a visual check and even put aside the items at Customer Service. This made shopping much easier. The store staff is friendly and helpful. They have so much inventory that it makes it easy to shop...nothing is hidden or out-of-stock. One of the employees said the store manager was very good and she looked forward to coming to work each day. That's great and the treatment of staff has a direct correlation to how they treat their customers!

The store curbside pick up process was extremely easy and fast! Good job Canadian Tire 👍

Fun Fact: There's actually no point in pre-paying and ordering online because they're going to make you wait a day to pick it up but won't remove the item from the shelf. So when you go to get it and the product is sold out it'll some how be your fault. The GM and mangers don't seem to care to fix their mistakes. I would just avoid this location if you can and save yourself the hassle in the long run.

Great store with very helpful staff. This location was a bit out of my way but they showed lots of stock of something I needed so the trip was worth it. The staff happily went out of their way, literally from one end of the store to the other, to locate and fetch my item. Cheers

Ugh! Needed staff to help me out and no one was in hardware. Got a cashier to call for someone to help, and an hour later the store is closing and still no help for me. So I ended up buying what I thought I needed and it was, but... The item I get is broken! I then return it to another store that has that item ON SALE! Other store was great. Got the discount and everything. Otherwise if you know exactly what you need, this place is empty and plenty of cashiers.

Associates are not attentive. I had to walk along the aisles looking for an associate so that I can get someone to assist me at the paint center. I waited another 30 minutes for someone to show up to provide service. When he arrived, he grunted a few times in response to my questions and turned and walked away. I just left my shopping cart there and left the store.

I don't generally post reviews for corporate-owned businesses, but Parisa at the customer service desk at this store is exceptional at her job. I had a complicated issue today and she dealt with it in such a professional manner that I will now only be going to this location even though there are 3 other Canadian Tires within the same radius from my house. She's a gem of an employee and I think the empowered manner in which she handled my problem must speak to how well this store is managed at a higher level

Typical Canadian Tire. Has lots of housewares. I noticed a pretty wide selection of barbecues on display outside and a couple of smokers. Also had about half a dozen different kayaks. I often go in here for things I need quickly, like plumbing supplies. It's happened a few times that the quantity showing online as being in this store are not in the store, or at least they're not on the shelf. Staff at the store have acknowledged this. That has inconvenienced me a couple of times, especially when I needed items to fix a toilet.

This Canadian Tire is awesome. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. I've gotten some really great stuff for cheap on sale here. I visit once a month to make sure I don't miss out on good deals.

My wife brought our car for alignment in this branch, Atuo Service Manager John told me on the phone that the cost for alignment is $130 + tax. Then, after 2 hours, he called me again and said that the ball joints in the left and right were loose and asked me if I'm willing to replace them with or not. I asked for cost, and he said $90 for both. Then, for clarification, I said $90 + $130? John said yes, plus tax. Then I accepted the deal. They started to work around 1:30 pm and finished the job at 3:30 pm. And called me to come to pick up the car. I asked my wife to go there to pay and take the car. BUT!!! They gave an invoice for $1028.82 !!! To her. $600 for labor just for 2 hours and $400 for parts. Unbelievable! I had arguments with John, and he said he is not releasing the car until I pay the money. I called police, and they said they would not interfere with that. And even I called to Canadian Tire headquarters. She got shocked with the price and said it's outrageous! Then, she said it takes 7 to 8 days for investigation, and the car will be staying in the shop! Unfortunately. So, for helping me, she sent an email to the owner of the branch and explained everything to him to solve the problem through him. It looks like we have to pay whatever they ask to get the car, and then sue them to see what happens!!!! Garbage Auto Service!!!!
