My friends and I have visited Crafty Pots twice now and both times were ruined by Kent’s poor attitude. His bitterness and rudeness ruin the atmosphere of what should be a fun relaxed activity. It’s quite a shame since the rest of the staff were lovely and the store itself seemed the have a good variety of paints and products available. We initially wanted to try this spot to try a studio that wasn’t a franchise however we will not be returning.

What a great day, we came for my daughter's friend/classmates' birthday party and everyone had a blast, not just kids either. An awesome idea that gets you out of the same old birthday party routines where kids are loaded up on sugar, run amok and tire out the parents. Never have I been to a children's party and everyone was quiet and focused on the task at hand. Each child chooses what they kind of mould they want to decorate and the staff walks the kids through the steps of painting them and glazing. Speaking of the staff, they were great and definitely know how to keep the kids motivated and kept it in a laid back atmosphere. Very knowledgeable about products and the goings on with special themed nights. My son and I caught the vibe and want to make a return trip with the family instead of regular game night. Highly recommended

Kids' (Parents') Night Out - We sent our children to Crafty Pots' parents' night out event 6-9pm. The price $40+HST included painting a piece of ceramic which our children chose from the shelves (max $35 value) OR a string art project, pizza, juice box, and games. Kent and his staff were very kind and helpful. Kent also showed us how they use glass to make different projects, called glass fusing. Our children had a lot of fun and can't wait to go back! Thank you Kent and your team for a fun and memorable time! E-Mail List: If any parents are interested in these events, please check Crafty Pot's website to sign up for their newsletters.

I had lots of fun here with the girls! We did some peaceful painting. The staff here was really kind and caring. It really felt like a family business to me (not sure if it was:). Aside from painting pottery you can also make your own pots. Will be coming back for that:)

Nice little pottery/ceramics painting studio. When we were there, staff was friendly and helpful. We’ve been to other similar shops before although they were a franchise and prices were pretty in-line with what we were expecting. Thought we’d support the local business here. So why only 3-stars? We were notified that our daughter’s ceramic creation was ready for pick-up a few days ago and though we’d swing by today. We were, however, turned away. The reason? There was a booked party happening in the room at the *back* of the store (front was empty) and we had to return another time. We were a little puzzled and clarified that we were only picking up and no looking to paint. But nope — denied once again. Apparently that was too much of a burden on their workload. They should give better instructions about calling first before pick-up to save customers the frustration of being turned away. Or just save yoursef the trouble and head to Crock A Doodle Unionville just a couple of blocks west. EDIT Response 20240122: "...served exactly when I want to." Classy. Instead of trying to make me sound entitled, perhaps you can look inwards and refine your own processes like I suggested. Perhaps even remove the "Walk-ins welcome" sticker on your door as that's clearly not the case. As for the party, it was in the back room with nobody/no items out front. And I was not looking to walk in the back of your shop either. I was ~1m into the door just wanted to pick up my daughter's creation which is likely one of the ones in a paper bag and likely labeled on your shelves that typically the store would bring to the customer...y'know to prevent us from rummaging around and inadvertently breaking things. I just wanted to make that clear so you don't think I'm upset because I wasn't being waited on hand and foot. EDIT 20240123: up’d it to 3-stars as 2 was probably a little harsh.

Fun place for a Friday date night or girls' night! We took the beginner wheel throwing class, and it was such a relaxing and fun experience. Kent, our instructor, was super friendly, patient, and funny. He taught us the basics and came around to help us if we had any questions. The class was a nice small size of 6 people. At the end of class, you get to choose a piece to go into the kiln and come back at another time to paint it for an additional cost. Definitely want to come back again to do more wheel throwing!

The hands-on experience of molding and painting your own bowl is not only rewarding but also a chance to tap into your creativity. Crafty Pots provides all the necessary materials and expert guidance, allowing you to unleash your imagination and craft a unique piece of art. Great for a date or girls night out!

After visiting Crafty Pots the first time, I kept coming back. It is such a fun activity to do with anyone. The staff are so friendly and helpful and they have such a cute variety of things to paint. I work in the area and I really enjoy coming here to relax and paint something for fun.

I’ll start by saying that the young woman who helped us was so kind and lovely and this review is not about her. We arrived with our 3 kids and mentioned this was our first time ever doing this activity. About an hour into painting we were informed it takes 3 days to dry. We are from out of town so that was really disappointing to hear. As a solution, the incredibly rude and condescending manager, who told me it was my fault for not mentioning we were from out of town, offered us a 10% discount to take the unfinished products home (where we would have to pay additional fees to get them cooked at a local pottery store). As an alternative, he suggested in front of my kids quite cruelly that we could leave and he would throw out their crafts. We took the unfinished crafts home. I found the 10% discount disappointing, and the way he spoke to me in front of my kids totally unacceptable. Edited: the response to this review from the owner is false. Suggest people also read what others have written on trip advisor. Since we mentioned we had never done this activity before, I would expect to be informed at the onset that it would take 3 days to dry and complete. I can accept the miscommunication and wish I had mentioned it sooner. My issue is the tone and attitude of the manager towards me. A very condescending man - which also comes across in the patronizing way he has responded to my review.

I love coming here! The staff are friendly and helpful and they have a great selection of things to paint. I have so much fun here and would love to come more often. They also have other activities besides just pottery painting. This is a great place to come for a birthday activity, talking with friends, or even a date. Can’t wait to come back!

I took a wheel throwing workshop here. Kent was a great teacher and for someone who isn't really into this kind of stuff, I had a lot of fun. I'd recommend this to people looking for interesting activities to try!

This is great place for kids and adults that enjoy crafts! You pick out the items you want to paint from a fairly large collection of ceramics. They have animals and other general items like fruits and utensils, we went with animals. Next you get to pick 3 colors per person painting and they refill them for you as needed. The whole process took about an hour with my niece. Once done, you leave it with them for 5 days for the ceramic to be baked and they text you when it's ready for pickup. Haven't got ours yet but some of the finished ones we saw looked really good. They also have a glow in the dark party room for larger groups.

Went in for wheel throwing class. The owner, Kent, was very knowledgeable and helpful with the throwing. He initially came off as abrupt and unfriendly, and he did not like some other walk-in groups being too noisy. But I understand that he wanted the small wheel throwing group to be able to hear his instructions. After speaking with him some more, he's actually a very kind man who is just trying to run a business. It seems as though there are a few people who have had a negative experiences with Kent. I did not get this feeling at all and really I don't think an adult needs to fuss over not getting free candy for her toothless baby. Since Paintlounge left the neighbourhood, I've been craving a place to just paint on my own (without instruction) that isn't my house. It turns out Crafty Pots can accomodate this. Unfortunately they don't market this option very well. I plan on re-attending in the future, even if it's just for the canvas painting!

LOVED IT! Took my sister here for her bachelorette. We did the beginners wheel throwing class. The owner was kind, funny and a great teacher. Can’t wait to go back and paint our pieces! A memory that we will not forget. Highly recommend!!!

Great place to make a creation. I needed to make a plate for my friend. It's easy, you come in, choose your item, paint it and leave. The only concern I have is the owner seemed annoyed with my questions.

It’s tad bit expensive with a hear running to 44$ but they do have cheaper options to be fair. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon with kids, friends and significant other. They provide brushes paint and a table. Great vibes!

We had a near disaster for our daughter's birthday party when our original venue fell through last minute. Lucky for us, Crafty Pots was just down the street and they took our large group of 12 kids in without hesitation! They were super accommodating and so kind about our situation. Thank you for saving us from what could have been a huge disappointment for our daughter on her special day. Instead, all the kids had fun and created beautiful art pieces they'll be able to keep for years. THANK YOU!!

Visited Crafty Pots yesterday and it was an amazing experience. We went for a walk-in hand building activity. The goal was to make Ganeshji idol for upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi. We were provided with clay and all tools to make the idol. Kent was very polite and helpful. He explained to us how to use the clay and join the pieces. It was a lot of fun. Our Ganeshji is ready for Ganesh Chaturthi and we are super excited!!! Thank you Kent for your patient listening and understanding our requirement. Really appreciate it. It’s an amazing place, great staff and highly recommended!! For sure will come back again :)

Really fun experience! The team and owners were very nice and supportive! The price point is reasonable. We were assigned to pick out any clay figure displayed on their shelves. They have a variety of assortments to choose from. It's exciting to see what piece your eyes land on to spark your creativity! They start with 3 paint colours from their selection and you can add colours as you paint. They recommended 3 coats of paint to get a vivid colour. The wait time for the glossed product is approximately 7 days. I'm totally looking forward to see how the finished product turns out! They offer a variety of services such as pottery wheel classes, kids birthday parties, and fun painting clay experiences. Definitely a shop I would recommend and revisit.
