(Translated by Google) Beautiful city, worth visiting. Go prepared to climb uphill and buy a lot of handicrafts (the best). I went at the end of the morning, February, I almost died of heat! Therefore, sunscreen, hat, water to hydrate. Upon arrival, a local offered to guide us and said that we could pay whatever we wanted, but in the end he wanted me to pay 150 to three hundred reais! I paid 50 and still found it very (Original) Cidade linda, vale a pena conhecer.

Very nice place to visit close to Recife. Better to spend a day there then in Recife. You can really feel the colonialism in the air because of the several building in this style. A lots of color everywhere. Fantastic place.

Founded in the 16th century by the Portuguese, the town’s history is linked to the sugar-cane industry. Rebuilt after being looted by the Dutch, its basic urban fabric dates from the 18th century. The harmonious balance between the buildings, gardens, 20 Baroque churches, convents and numerous small passos (chapels) all contribute to Olinda’s particular charm.

Olinda is an historical city and the oldest town of Brazil listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO due its XVI and XVII century buildings and churches around. The name O-linda means "Oh beautiful" because its panoramic view. It has a rich culture where you can enjoy a great experience through its famous popular carnival, its gastronomy, its forró dance and else. I recommend anyone who visits Pernambuco to go to Olinda tô appreciate this wonderful city and enjoy a tapioca.

Nice historical center well worth a visit, museums and historical buildings daytime as well as cozy restaurants, coffee shops and bars efter dark. Olinda is a colonial town on Brazil’s northeast coast, near the city of Recife. Founded in 1535 by the Portuguese, it’s built on steep hillsides and distinguished by its 18th-century architecture, baroque churches, convents, monasteries and brightly painted houses. Originally a center for the sugarcane industry, it’s now known as an artists’ colony, with many galleries, workshops and museums.

(Translated by Google) Impressive place and full of history. Very clashing highlighting its colonial architecture making the visitor truly experience being living in that very moment. But in fact it is evident that conservation and general care actions are needed .... it is not inconceivable to lose a heritage in this way .... (Original) Sitio impressionante e repleto de historia. (Translated by Google) Olinda safeguards plants and trees that have a lot to say about our stories. From secular imperial palms to baobabs incorporated into that setting in more recent times. The green there is as protagonist as the churches, fountains, colonial houses and the multicolored graphics that fill the walls and minds there. Todxs and everything framed by the Atlantic, with Recife at its feet in the distance. Too bad that in the surroundings of so much beauty, so much misery and poverty persists.
