Wetherdooons have some architecturally interesting buildings. This is not one of them, once you enter. Externally it is striking. Internally, scruffy and badly in need of refurbishment. But the prices of food and drinks are what, in common with all Wetherspoons, makes it worth visiting. It has an outside seating area. Can't say the barman was exactly the most efficient and welcoming but once you are past that problem you can enjoy the cheapest pint for miles around. What more can one ask for? Makes even the pretty disgusting toilets bearable.

Went out for our tea and it wasn't the best. Firstly the girl with long blonde hair didn't ask me what my order was she just stared at me. She also didn't leave a parting comment either. Secondly we ordered a pizza which are usually good. When the pizza came it was missing ingredients and had some wrong ingredients on it. When it arrived for the second time it had the correct items on it but still missing some of them. Not impressed with the customer service at all . I ate my meal separate to my partner. The pub has definitely gone down hill

We had lunch here, ordered using the app. A member of staff came to us to let us know there would be a delay, which was fine. He brought the food after about 20 minutes. But we had to ask them for our drinks. I ordered gammon and the meat was cold, I did send it back, but waited until my wife returned until my meal came. Unfortunately the quality of the food was poor. Additionally very few of the tables were cleared our cleaned. The pub was badly under staffed.

Perhaps the cheapest pint of Guinness that I’ve ever been served at £2.79 — I didn’t mind my experience here despite some kerfuffle about there being no Guinness glasses (I wasn’t that bothered but it took up some time lol)

One of the worst weatherspoons I've ever been for food. Drinks were spot on but food is shocking. I ordered the steak and kidney pudding which was cold in the middle, prob not long enough in a microwave. Onion gravy in two little pots was like cold clotted sludge wouldn't even give it to my dog it was that bad and a very small amount of chips. Kitchen staff need a good kick up the arse serving food like that. No staff asked was all ok with food as they were more interested in chatting at the bar. Never again👎

Not a Wetherspoons fan, but The Penny Black in Northwich had a pleasant atmosphere, attentive staff & food & drink at competitive prices. Well done Penny Black team 👏👍

Don't know what's happened but just walked in 6.45pm Wednesday 28th June and place looks like a bombs hit it even though not many in. Dirty tables empty glasses and plates everywhere and staff chatting to their mates. Walked straight back out. Used to come here regularly but gone downhill

The price increase is understandable - the drop in quality isn't. Got cold food today, poor service, & half hearted apology. Worse still staff switching straight from mopping floors to serve food and back to mopping.

I can certainly say that I won't be visiting here again. Staff were rude, hardly any food available and the place was a mess. Whilst I was being served at the bar for food, the manager came over and interrupted my order to tell his colleague the soccer score. About 60% of the menu was available meaning we couldn't order what we wanted. The tables weren't cleaned up after diner's meaning we had to clean our own table. The coffee machine ran out of coffee, asked for it to be filled and the waiter just disappeared and never came back with coffee.

I love it here. Have been about once every 6 weeks for two years. Have had lots of food and draft and spirits. Not perfect at times, but have loved every visit.

Went in the Penny Black with my granddaughter on Thursday night being curry night, excellent chicken korma , and a chicken tikka with all the trimmings great price, only thing wrong no mango chutney. Place could do with a few new tables and chairs, nothing seem to match.

First time visiting and I won’t be returning. Ordered drinks which arrived quick then ordered an American breakfast, food was luke warm and pancakes were cold like they had just come out of the fridge. The streaky bacon underneath my pancakes were brown. We then ordered more drinks and the waitress who served us with pink hair didn’t take away our plates, she only took them away when we were leaving. The atmosphere was non existent.

It is cheap but not cheerful. Uncleared tables everywhere, unable to get served, and the staff shortages are evident...

Went in for a breakfast, partner wanted mushroom benedict but on ordering was told they have no poached eggs! So I asked, so you don't cook eggs here? No, was the reply. Coats back on and out we went.

Is it too difficult to take away empty glasses, clean tables and arrange seats to welcome new patrons into your establishment? Not all individuals wishing to visit Weatherspoons are the great unwashed! Please up your levels of service, a smile, maybe a welcome, maybe just do what your getting paid to do, if you don't want the job make way for someone who does.

It's Wetherspoons, so you know what to expect. Good value simple basic food and a comfortable environment. I'd rather go here than Mcdonalds.

Better than any other wetherspoons, food is always good, cask is always on point, staff are friendly, I have no complaints, however an upstairs would be great so you could eat with family a little further away from busy bar

Fish and chips arrived, the fish was in shrivelled burnt batter, the fish inside was beyond well done. It was sent straight back. The customer service was useless, no apology or offer of ordering an alternative, plate snatched off me with a grunt of we will refund you on the App. The Pepsi was flat too. Definitely will not return to this weatherspoons.

It's been quite a long time since I have been to this particular pub and I had a very pleasant evening meal with my son and his family service was good 👍👍

Very quiet when we visited so had no atmosphere, staff were friendly and served us quickly.Very nice outside area which I'll definitely revisit in the summer. But you need to sort the toilets out they were disgusting and let your pub down!!!!!

It's a nice Wetherspoons. 4 stars as they were very delayed to bring out one of our meals. Food was tasty though. Will visit again in the future and hopefully bring some to update my review.

Came in and most tables were dirty and when we went to order half of the menu was unavailable. Our food came out quick but only because it was cold so we thought can’t ask for much for these prices but couldn’t even start eating because the cutlery was dirty. I’m not a snobby person but I expected to at least have a warm meal.

We had two meals their and both were presented well and cooked well. The actual place is lovely with open space and different rooms. Lovely out side space and toilets on same level. Will visit again. 😁

Had a meal with a friend here. Excellent service, staff friendly. Reasonable prices. Was wondering where my food was and it arrived at the right time. Great outdoor area especially for smokers. Worth a visit if you are in/near the area and get a chance to go.

You only need one pub, and this is it. Really reasonable prices, and high end quality food and drink. Friendly staff and even the drinkers/diners in there are pleasant too. Spotlessly clean throughout and very well managed. Ticked all the boxes for me. Tim Martin, well done mate.

Went in at 11.45 for a coffee, quite a few people in, had a coffee, called back after shopping, tables where full of glasses and plates, hard to find a clean table, staff cleared the plates never wiped them, not good

Simply the 'go to' place for a wide selection of drinks at the best prices in town. A great atmosphere without music blaring out, where you can hear yourself think and which makes it easy to sit and drink and talk with friends. A social win, win all round.

Standard Weatherspoons - called in for breakfast with a colleague, as the Premier Inn offering yesterday wasn’t up to scratch. Big Breakfast, OJ & Tea, plus Breakfast Muffin with Hash Brown, OJ & Black Coffee. Standard Weatherspoons fayre - most passable, although not gourmet (reheated bacon, spray-tanned reheated sausages - tasty non-the-less). Clean and tidy. Tables were cleared & cleansed quickly. Socially distanced seating with outdoor seating available. We did have to ask for butter for the toast, but only 1 packet supplied for 2 slices of toast. Usual self service refillable hot drinks. All at a reasonable price. Keen on mask wearing if up from the table which is commended. Id visit again.

Go to place for a drink in Northwich. Cheap drinks, good place to have a laugh and chat. Like coming here with work colleagues on Black Friday. Used to come here more when I was younger and straight out of college. Always had a great time. Toilet cleanliness is always questionable. Recommend ladies taking a packet of tissues in your bag just incase there is no loo roll too. :P

I think this was the longest waiting time for the food that we have ordered and it took more than 35 minutes to arrive at our table which we never encountered before when we walk in to many other Wetherspoon we have visited. We frequently go to Wetherspoon as we love the fish and chips but today it has crossed the line and the reason was the kitchen is having a training ground for the new recruits to experiment the preparation of customers order. Where is the logic behind to compromise customer service versus new recruits training in the real kitchen??? By the way The Penny Black Wetherspoon wasn't busy at all tonight but need to wait for more than 35 minutes for the fish and chips to be served.

Overdue a refit and recently had a bad pint in there. To be fair, the staff happily changed it for a good one. I'd say this Wetherpoons is more a place to drink than enjoy a meal, of course you're able to do it both..
