I have not been to The Bell for a while but this evening i certainly noticed how 'rough around the edges' it has become. We chose curry, pizza and mixed grill. Thursday is curry night, I was a little unsure at first but was not disappointed. The curry was obviously not Indian restaurant standard but was very tasty and filling, certainly good value for money. Pizza was ok but a little bit 'overdone' and mixed grill was good.

Got served by Eva on the bar, friend of mine had a craving for a spicy Margarita and unfortunately they had no tobasco sauce. As a hospitality worker over AT TGI'S Riverside I have a lot of appreciation for customer service. It's no secret that Spoons is a brand known for delivering service and products that don't blow you away but consistency is always there and this is why they have repeat custom for a product that provides what it says on the tin, however today I was very appreciative when both Eva and the Manager Craig went above and beyond to accommodate my friends obscure craving. Always appreciative of the service I receive here at The Bell, and will remain a loyal customer. Keep up the great work guys.

I was in Norwich with my 2 daughters and granddaughter, and we decided to cLl in the Bell hotel for some lunch. My eldest daughter suffers with social anxiety my other daughter is 9 and my granddaughter was in a buggy as she is 16 months. We were struggling to find a table, suitable to get the buggy out of the way, one of the waitresses found us a table and helped het us seated and fetched a highchair for my granddaughter, i was super impressed, it was a busy lunchtime and she could have easily left is to fend for ourselves but that bit of extra kindness and help, helped me out no end, huge thank u!

For a spoons this place is pretty good! You can get to the bar and order drinks without queuing for an eternity and ale is well kept. However when ordering whisky I was not asked if I would like ice and when I pointed this out they simply scooped it out leaving me a horrible cloudy cold whisky. People can be very particular on how they like whisky served and this should be taken into consideration.

What a complete waste of money. Big breakfast and eggs benedict. Eggs hard and cold on both breakfasts. Mushroom and beans cold. The only hot items were the sausages. Bacon fatty . Only half eaten , when complained to server he said I'll let the chef know. I know you get what you pay for, but that was horrendous. Never again.

Completely crazy place. So full of folk having a great time. As always great value drinks and food. Busy, helpful, friendly staff - rushed off their feet but still have time to be happy and friendly with the customers. What's not to like - you can always find a waist curler if you need it!

We were so impressed with this branch of Wetherspoons. The food was piping hot. We were sat upstairs so it had to be sent up and it was still piping hot. Much better than our local one. The staff were friendly and professional, they seemed to have good working relationships too. We'll definitely be back. Thank you guys xx

Went in for lunch Friday lunchtime, pub was already quite busy with drinkers and there was virtually nowhere free to sit upstairs. Not too many staff around and basically had to clear our own table in order to have somewhere to sit. In one corner of one of the upstairs rooms was a table piled high with approx 30-50 dirty plates, glasses, knives and forks etc from where other customers had also cleared their own tables over several hours - everyone had stacked the dirty plates onto the same table. In general the eating area wasn't being cleaned. Staff can't keep up, and don't seem organised in such a way as to take responsibility for particular areas. This means they're repeatedly serving food to tables that can't have been cleaned - but they probably don't realise and assume someone else cleaned it if new customers are sitting there. As customers pay through the app, there's also no staff to gradually move people on as they take orders, deliver food and check if meals are ok, clear tables and offer desert - meaning the seating gets full up because people stay at tables for ages. When someone finally leaves the next group of people just jump into the dirty table because they're desperate to have somewhere to sit - as we did. Food was acceptable otherwise, cheap and cheerful, adequate portions for the price. Wouldn't be in much of a hurry to go back during peak hours though.

Fast turn around with food but delays when really busy around lunch and dinner times. Food mostly good for what it is. Not much of an atmosphere as just lots of noise and chatter but perfect for a quick lunch. Breakfast are great.

Busy Spoons pub with the visual free WiFi. It's split level with different taps on both levels. If you can't see the beer you want, ask for directions to the other half.

So out of the three Wetherspoons we visited in Norwich today, in our opinion this had to be our least favourite. It does have an outside area to the front, however it felt rather congested and full of pigeons picking at not only leftovers on unattended plates but also trying to muscle in on the food on people's plates. Due to the trees, it is not ideal for enjoying the sun. The inside of this Spoons was alot smaller than we expected from looking at the outside building. The staff were polite. We did not eat but enjoyed a nice drink.

Usual wetherspoons experience. Found a table, used the app, drinks and food arrived quickly.

It’s what it is a Wetherspoons service was a bit slow through the app which was disappointing. But cheap drinks.

This place was absolutely packed on Saturday afternoon. Called in for lunch, luckily we got somewhere to sit, ordered food, considering how busy it was, it came quickly. The staff here work so hard, obviously good management, other Weatherspoon could learn from them. Food was very tasty when it came, excellent value for money. Right in the heart of the city

Very friendly and helpful staff. All the food was delicious and they were able to change an item due to dietary requirements. However, the one negative was the small portion size of the burger meal - we ordered 3 burger meals, 2 adult and 1 child - the child's portion was the largest! Both adult meals had an absolutely tiny amount of chips.

I don't live in Norwich, but although the pub is smaller than I expected. It makes up for the speed of the service and the friendliness of the staff. I didn't buy any food, all I got was a drink. But the price of the drink took me by surprise. I did say earlier that I didn't buy food, so it would be unfair to judge something I never bought. This is the reason why I'll give the pub a 5 star rating. Good job, guys and gals.

Probably the busiest Wetherspoons in Norwich, and the upstairs is a bit of a labyrinth. If you order via the app, wait times seem reasonable, and the food is up to the usual Spoons standard. If traditional pub fare doesn't float your boat, there are plenty of decent vegetarian and low alcohol alternatives on the menu.

The best pizza came super quick very hot! And mega cheesy, all washed down with several jugs of cocktail all super cheap. It does get quite busy but well worth a trip if your looking for cheap drinks and food

Fantastic pub in city centre. Fantastic deal on Beefeater Blood Orange Gin only £1:99 including free mixer my wife’s happy.

I much prefer upstairs. This is a central Wetherspoons and surrounded by shops, the cinema and bowling and soft play. I didn't see anything outstanding like some Wetherspoons but equally it was clean and food nice enough. Only one hot drink machine was working but the cup of tea was good.

I read that the Bell Hotel dated back from 1485 and was later one of the city’s leading coaching inns. During WWII, the top floor was used as a dormitory for the American Women’s Army Air Corps. There are two floors. Ground floor bar has a tree-shaded terrace outside with indoor and outdoor seatings. Even during the day there are many people sitting outside for drinks. The upstairs bars are on two levels but the menus are all the same. Food was so so and they have a wide selection of beers. Prices are cheap.

Hello, really thought this building was lovely however one point to note is that not all of the building is accessible. You can access most but not all, that seemed a shame especially since we came over for the Deaf meet up and one of my friends was in a wheelchair and we couldn't join them. The drinks were great, enjoyed outselves but the next day we tried the American breakfast and the pancakes were so stale, couldn't enjoy it. Otherwise a typical Wetherspoon experience.

Very good pub. Large variety of drinks from Bitters, to Ciders to Lagers to suit everyone’s tastes. My Worthingtons was on point and it also serves Abbot and Doom Bar which are both some of my favourite beers. The scampi was also very tasty. Affordable too!
