Way too expensive, for what you get. Gym and pool are okay, nothing special. Breakfast is not complimentary. Location is great but 6 minutes from the slums. Rooms were clean so that's a plus. Probably will find somewhere else to stay next visit.

Check-in was quick and pleasant. Clean room, and it's very quiet here. The Bistro has great food and service. I hope to come back soon.

(Upped rating to 4.3- management did respond to the following) How about a 3.7? Would like to give more but no rate adjustment-or voucher- or concern- etc for no hot water one morning. Cold shower etc really messed up morning plans.. Staff and service and food were pretty good, nice room, close walking distance to campus. Maybe a top floor on a really busy weekend means wake up way early to shower?

I was attending the Notre Dame Ohio State game in hours before I was supposed to check into my hotel, a girl from the front desk called me to tell me that my room would not be available until 7 PM because they had a large group who booked out the hotel the night before. She sounded surprised that nobody called me to tell me this beforehand. After driving several hours, I was looking forward to checking in and relaxing before the game. They didn’t even have any options for me to clean up and give me an option to go to another property gym. As a diamond member and it’s a Hilton loyalist, this is unacceptable.

I stayed there for business the nights of 10/15 and 10/16/23. It was very clean and seemed new, and the front desk staff was friendly and very helpful when I experienced a minor problem with the coffee maker. The food was good for both dinner and breakfast and the bartending and wait staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely seek it out again when I am back in town.

This Hilton location by St. Mary’s was convenient for visiting Notre Dame. The staff was friendly. I arrived late, and was looking for close restaurants. I decided to eat at the hotel. The food at the bar was much better than expected, and the food and drink prices were right. Rooms are always clean and comfortable at Hiltons. I would stay here again.

Excellent location (not too far from the Amtrak station). The food was wonderful and service great. Our room was very nice and most importantly…..it was quiet. The place was pretty much full but there were no issues with noise.

Beware of the breakfast police lady. She is extremely rude and this is not how anyone should start their day. I would have given the hotel a five if it wasn’t for her being so rude.

Less than helpful with a travel issue we had, even though we're a diamond member, because of "hotel policy" about cancelling. Parking was also an issue, very small front lot.

We have used this location as a good stop on the way through. Convenient to the Interstate. Can be swamped with all the college stuff going on but usually when we're here it's not busy. The only problem with the rooms is that the bathroom door has to be closed tight or the door swings wide open and gets in the way of the room entrance door. Otherwise it's comfortable and clean. Staff is friendly too.

I travel quite a bit all over the country for business and I will say, this is one of my favorite stops. From the amenities like the pool and workout room, to the wonderful restaurant, to the amazing people, everything is top notch. I always look forward to coming back and will recommend others to stay. Five stars all the way around!

If you like grimey hot tubs, dangerously fragile banquet chairs and peeling wallpaper come right on in! Check under things in your room. They usually don't dust. Food from the bistro is decent. If you're looking for a place to stay its painfully average and if you're looking for work turn and run. Run fast. Hourly compensation is normally $12.

Increasingly I wonder why the hell we pay more for these hotels. It was clean, fancy, and serviceable but way overpriced and I was hit with hidden fees that weren't disclosed when I called. Nice bistro on site, but that means no free breakfast. Not worth the money.

High praise to the cleaning staff because this place was spotless. However: I was pretty upset to find, after I asked several times, if they could accommodate my allergies for breakfast, they actually could not. The excuse? Because it was a weekend… I asked when I called to book our room and again at check in if they could accommodate my allergies. Getting to breakfast only to find they’re not cooking food to order because it’s a weekend and there’s a group of hockey kids there…. pretty unacceptable. All I wanted was oatmeal, potatoes, and fruit. This allergy friendly option should be available at any time no matter the day of the week.

The positive elements of our stay were helpful staff members combined with a large and clean room. The only drawback was that we booked a handicapped-accessible room and found that not to be the case. The room featured a walk-in shower with a grab-bar; however, there were no other accessibility features. There was no seat in the shower and no grab-bars in the bathroom area including around the low-mounted toilet.

There was hair all over my bed sheet and the bottom of the toilet weren’t cleaned! This is so disgusting I’ve heard amazing things about this hotel but I was highly disappointed with how dirty the room was.

I would stay exclusively at this hotel when it comes to Corporate Lodging in the South Bend area. Clean, quiet, and courteous. This Hilton also Honors reward points at Corporate Rate. Not many hotels nowadays seem to want to do that. Take my business please Hilton Garden Inn South Bend!

10/01/22. This review is for the food at the restaurant. Although the atmosphere, service and taste of the food was good, the portion sizes were tiny!!! This is the quesadilla off of their menu. They took a 4” tortilla, sprinkled a few pieces of meat cheese and salsa and sent it out. I placed my regular size iPhone X next to the portions for reference. Also compare to the little cups that the sides come in. This “entree” couldn’t fill up a 5 year old. On the plus side, it did taste ok.

This Hilton Garden Inn is one of the nicest in the chain. They offer daily breakfast, nightly dinner with a well stocked bar and ample free parking. And although the hotel is located about a 15-minute drive from the South Bend (SBN) airport, they offer free shuttle service to and from the airport. Lastly, all the staff were friendly and helpful.

Here for Business meeting and using Conference Room. Have used same room 2 days and noticed they did not change the cloths on the tables because stains and crumbs from day before were still there. Edit : Was there on a 3rd day to finish meetings. Heard from management about review and they apologized for it not being up to their standards normal not knowing I was there a 3rd day. Along with the same unchanged tablecloths. So decide on your own.

Clean and updated rooms! White linens so you can tell if they are in good shape. A lot of light colors in general so you can tell they keep everything clean. Nicely outfitted and clean bathroom again done light colors. Pump shampoo, body wash and conditioner in the shower. Everything smelled ok unlike a lot of hotels. They are also dog friendly with a $75 pet fee. The only disappointment is they charge $6 for what looks to be a very poor quality Continental breakfast. The hot breakfast buffet is $15.00 per person. For what you pay for the room you should get a free Continental Continental breakfast. That is our only complaint about the hotel and service.

Overall A+. The staff was friendly, room clean, love the property, well maintained, our room had a sliding back door which was an awesome bonus. The restaurant staff was friendly, accommodating, and attentive. Our drinks that the bar were delicious. The only slight negative could be the fact that our handicapped room bathroom door does not stay open. So we had to prop it open with heavy items or it quickly shut because of the weight of that door. We are not handicapped, but it was annoying in general. Our coffee maker at first attempt exploded coffee all over. We advised the front staff, said would be replaced. It was not. The room was very dark. Not enough lighting and lights were dim. These setbacks were overall minor compared to most hotels of comparable price points. The fact that there is food on site and a bar, friendly staff, clean and well maintained prop is refreshing!! We were able to walk to points of interest (notre dame).

We enjoyed our stay. Except I asked for the city view, we got Toll road view. Back of the building. That was fine. We enjoyed our stay.

Average hotel, awesome breakfast! I paid a little extra for world class omelet! Tracy my server was the best server I've had in a long time! The cook knows what he's doing too!

Nice and clean, friendly, but quite overpriced! In my opinion the pool seemed small! The carpet in the room was totally worn! All in all, it was fun and excellent to get out and relax!

The room was dirty. I informed the front desk and instead of sending housekeeping, they sent cleaning wipes. My coffee maker was not working, reported- never replaced. My granddaughter (one year old) tripped and liquid was spilled on the furnace control panel. It stopped working. The manager came to the room and was extremely rude and condescending. He actually SAID that I needed to watch the children. He did not ask what happened. I was told they would have to pull the unit out to look at it. After he left, I used a hairdryer to dry it and it worked just fine after. We ordered room service from the Bistro... they left some food off. I called them and was told that the cooks could not be located! WHAT??!! The food was tasteless.... it was terrible!

I enjoyed the one night we stayed. The room was nice and it appeared clean. The Easter brunch was really good. There were lots of choices of food items.
