Lovely experience! Clean rooms, comfy beds, excellent value. Big thanks to the wonderful Victoria and Aliyah who (even though they were very busy) spent the time to make a lady travelling alone feel very welcome and even helped me to choose wine and my meal. Very nice buffet breakfast too. Will be back soon!

Avoid!!!! I would recommend you avoid the hotel. The main entrance is grubby and dirty. The carpets need replacing. The room we are in needs completely updating and the beds and bedding need to be replaced. I’ve try to contact staff but the main desk is unmanned. Last night the fire alarm went off at 5am no staff were on hand to assist guests to safety. This was a frightening experience due to my epilepsy. This evening the noise outside the hotel is unbearable youths shouting in the streets and you can hear it due to the lack of good glazing. I will be making a formal complaint to Travelodge UK.

Not good. Uncomfortable beds, dirty room. Broken lift meant lots of trips up and down the stairs to the 7th floor. Staff were lovely, but this doesn't redeem the shocking state much of the hotel was in. It is cheap, though.

This hotel lost points for me because the vegan food availability was very limited. Although there were a few basic options on the menu for a main meal, the ingredients were not in stock in the kitchen. So no pizza and no lettuce to go with the vegan burger, which was accompanied by a piece of tomato in a dry white bun. Not really very appetising. However, we found the staff to be very friendly and were clearly doing there best for us under the circumstances. We appreciated that they were concerned about the quality of the meal. If not for this, overall it would have been a great stay.

Rooms are fine, in the usual travelodge manner. Overall feels a bit run down. Only one of the two lifts was working during my 3 night stay which in a 9 floor hotel wasn't great! Also, reception is on the 1st floor so the entrance hall is deserted apart from cage full of dirty linen, so not terribly inviting.

Booked for Download festival and I have to say, it was way worth it. 🤩 Great room, comfortable bed, private bathroom, 24h pizza and beer at the hotel reception. Plus the bus stop for the festival shuttle bus is right around the corner. 🤩 All in all, definitely one of the best Travelodge hotel that I have been to.

As a comfortable place to sleep, this Travelogue was okay. Overall, it was pretty run down and not overly welcoming. Only 1 lift was working and the ground floor had loads of laundry trolleys. The bed was comfortable and the room had what we needed, the basics. WiFi is free only for first 30 minutes. Would I stay here again? Maybe if I was in a pinch, but would probably check out the other chain hotel for an extra ÂŁ10.

Location is great, easy to get to all the restaurants and bars. Reception are always friendly and helpful. We've stayed here a few times generally the rooms are good some have looked a little tired or have faded carpets in places making it look dirty even though its not

Cheap, nice service, rooms were clean and big. Shower was big enough and had good pressure. The location is good to walk into the central, but a bit loud in the night due to the main traffic road beside.

The staff were great. The room was awful. Bathroom looked like one from a care home. Remote control didn't work and had batteries taped in. Smelled like the toilets on a train. It's incredibly cheap for the location and includes breakfast for ÂŁ44. But due to the suspect state of the room....I didn't want to risk eating here. Hate leaving poor reviews, especially when the staff are so good, but Travelodge need to give this one some TLC and update the rooms. To leave on a high, the bed was comfortable.

The previously friendly staff were not so friendly when I asked for a late checkout on the morning we were due to leave. My 78 year old father had become ill durng our stay, and it would have made things so much easier if we could have had the room for another couple of hours, but the receptionist was entirely unsympathetic and unhelpful, because they were already at their limit for late checkouts.

Horrendous. It may be cheap but there’s a reason for that. As soon as we entered our room we were overwhelmed with the smell of bleach!! Literally like bleach had been poured all over the bathroom. Then we lifted the duvet back to find hairs all over the bed. Room was so bad we checked out and didn’t even stay the night. May be a good price and location but I wouldn’t stay here if you like hygiene.

Ideally situated for the city . . We was given a room on top floor and there seemed to be only a small amount of rooms which to the experience . . We had a veiw over the city which was far better than the usual carpark or a grubby courtyard you get in some travel lodges . . Staff efficient and rooms felt safe due to carded doors . . We usually stay premier inn but this surprised me and up too their standard ( maybe got a good day lol ) rooms real clean . . Would definitely stop again . Didn't have breakfast cos you going to know its rubbish . .

The bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, the windows were left open meaning that without the tool to shut them you could here all the noise from outside throughout the night which meant for the three nights I stayed here I didn't get much sleep. Room however was clean other than a few stains here and there and location doesn't get much better.

Service was great with staff being very helpful and good at communicating. Great location in town centre. Check in was easy however bedding wasn’t as clean as expected with a few small hairs in the bed. Carpet was dirty with old hairs and toenails still on the floor from previous people. Need more plug sockets near the bed itself. Noisy outside of room a most of the morning when trying to sleep. Shower was cold and would not heat up.

First the positives: Great location, handy for shops and attractions. Good price if booked well in advance. Now the negatives: We paid extra for a 'Plus' room, while this was larger than a standard room, it wasn't furnished any better - a small table and a second chair would have been nice. A shortage of power points - only 3 available. With the TV using 1, and another shared between the kettle and coffee machine (which was a bit annoying), this left just 1 for laptop and device charging. USB charging points should really be standard in hotel rooms these days. The shower was an over-the bath type - no bath mat for the floor and no anti-slip surface in the tub results in a dangerous situation which needs to be looked at immediately.

Basic rooms but definitely clean. On the 9th floor and still very loud noises from outside all night long disturbing sleep. Paid extra to be on one of the “quietest floors” too. Quite dated and odd smell in all hall ways. One of the smallest bathrooms I’ve ever seen in a travel lodge. When used the stairs the carpet was peeling away and dangerous for us to use. Only good thing is the location, don’t think we would stay again. Staff we spoke to was friendly enough. Provided a small fan as of heat but not much good. Good view from the room looking towards the castle. Overall, the price we paid was definitely not portrayed.

Excellent staff. All friendly, helpful and polite. Close to railway station and to the town centre. Room had badly repaired crack. Main problem was how noisy it was. I was in 202. 201 sounded like they were banging wardrobe doors all night. After 1 night I asked if the same people would occupy. They were leaving but next night just as bad.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Booked 2 triple rooms two months in advance for a stag do only to arrive and be told that we are not getting triple rooms. They tried to fob us off to another travel lodge 30 minutes away when everyone else on the stag had rooms in this hotel. We told them that couldn't happen because of travel arrangements the next day. They eventually said we could have three double rooms. We said that's fine, and they asked us to wait in the lobby while they sorted that. All the time the rest of the stag do is out at our booked places. An hour went by, and they then said we can only give you 2 double rooms and can't guarantee a third room. After another long time debating this, they said they would get us a third room. We took the two doubles as we had to get ready to get to the already I'm full flow stag do. Upon coming back, the staff hadn't bothered to try and arrange a third room, and one of our party had to sleep on the floor without any covers or pillows. Staff couldn't care less, and the service was terrible. No management is to be found and couldn't be contacted on the phone by staff. Worst experience in a hotel I have ever had.

Heard everyone during the night, drunk and singing and I had two sets of windows. Most obhe food was OK but one night for tea, the only selection was pizza! You have to pay for parking and as I stayed for four nights it cost me ÂŁ45. No cheaper option or reduction. I would recommend at all.

Rooms in need of updating, bed is quite possibly the least comfortable I have ever slept in. Location is great but it's just a bit grim, only one lift working, rooms were a bit disappointing for theÂŁ150 a night we paid. Breakfast was nice and the service then was great. Think it's cheeky to make WiFi extra and then only allow for 2 devices in a 4 person room. Not enough sockets by far either.

Room was too hot to sit in yet alone sleep. The temp in the day was 22° so not exactly boiling. There were two sets of safely windows so even when the tiny top one was open there was no air flow. No air con in the room and the carpet has some very severe stains on! Not what I expected from a hotel room costing over £100.

Good location.but the room was gross. I cleaned it myself on arrival. Mould. hair in the bath from previous occupants. Stained carpets. When I stripped the bed before leaving, despite a matrices protector the bed was stained as was the pillow. Cobwebs on ceiling. And worst night's sleep due to whoever was in the next room talking and banging around I'll assume he was moving furniture it was that loud. Unfortunately won't be staying again. I'm shocked cause I'm always in staying with travelodge wherever I go and they're value for money this time wasted my money.

Ideal location, just round the corner of town, walking distance to the theatre, good for shopping, Castle and the Universities. There's no car park at this location but there is a car park Maid Marion Way, we parked there from Sunday 14:42 till Tuesday 10:14 it cost us ÂŁ13.90. Not good if you have a big vehicle, as the turns are quite sharp, some turns you have to reverse back abit to get up the slope.

Lovely breakfast. Staff all very polite and helpful. Rebecca couldn't do enough for us when you have travelled a long way to be greated like this was amazing. Rooms need a little touch up but good for the price.

3rd time we've stayed here. It's a Lovely and quiet hotel. Had such a peaceful sleep. Breakfast was fantastic, filled us up for the rest of the day.

Greeted by trolleys full of dirty linen when you arrive. 1 lift broken so you have to wait for ages....I was on the 6th floor! Basic room as you'd expect but very clean. Food wasnt great pretty sure my chicken wings and burger were microwaved. Nice power shower but the shower curtain does nothing so I flooded the bathroom. Friendly staff on reception and in the bar area

Walked into foyer that was full of washing then had to walk upstairs to the first floor to check in.ok. but biggest problem I guess was the fact they had only one tiny lift that worked which meant it was a five minute walk to breakfast. unless you liketo cosy up with several strangers during a pandemic good service however staff were spot on shame about the hotel very run down. Both stars are for the service only.

The managers treat the staff shockingly. Came across one of them having a go at the staff because they couldn’t do 13 rooms in 2 hours. The girl was also new there so that’s a sign the managers have no humanity or understanding of the job for anyone especially for someone new when they are still learning how to do it all. Awful thing to come across.

It's a good hotel, provides a nice clean room and the staff are lovely. Cannot comment on the food as we did not have any here but the services are good and the buffet breakfast is appropriately priced. The rooms include shampoo and body wash, hand soap, a small and a large towel, all bedding and a small kettle with tea and coffee. You can hear people on the street here and there or a car alarm but as someone from a very quiet place, it isn't too bad. Walking distance from most places in the city.

Room was clean and the linen and towels were good quality. The furniture was a bit tired though, stained (although clean) carpets, poorly repaired walls and bath, desk in need of a new countertop. And only one lift working which seems to be a running thread. Excellent staff though and conveniently placed.

On arrival my key card was not working. I had to go down to reception 3X to get this sorted, of which at some point the lift stopped working until the next morning so I had to take the stairs up and down multiple times from the 7th floor. This was very inconvenient for any guests with mobility disabilities. Visibly on appearance the room was filthy. One sheet on the bed with visible yellow stains. The carpet was filthy. The desk was visibly broken. The soap dispensers in the bathroom were not working at all. (I recorded a video) And the bathroom itself was not clean to a descent standard. There was no sockets near the headboard so I had to move the bed closer to the door to use them. It was also quite cold during my stay and I only had one small sheet, no duvet in the room, just two extra pillows which had a foul urine smell so I didn’t use them. It was disgusting and felt rather unhygienic. - the only positive was the lovely girl in the reception! Very friendly and welcoming! As a girl staying by myself, she made me feel very safe and gave me lovely compliments when I arrived so thank you for that. I think this travel lodge would benefit from some room refurbishments. Also hygiene needs to improve.

Losing a star for the noise, windows aren't secure so you can hear people talking outside, traffic and it seems Wednesday night is a busy night for drinking and singing loudly. Reception staff were really friendly and useful. Hotel a bit rough from the outside with some characters lingering, and herbal smoking. Not feeling the most safe as a solo female traveller but it'll do.

  • 1/5 Deon L. 1 year ago on Google
Very run down and had a dirty feeling. Only one lift worked and was very slow. The ground floor entrance had lots of laundry carts parked, overflowing with dirty laundry. The reception lobby was cluttered with cardboard boxes everywhere. Staff were somewhat pleasant, but don't bother asking for information as the attitude suddenly changes. Room was very hot and stuffy and bathroom wanst clean. Only positive is the location.

  • 2/5 Shaun S. 1 year ago on Google
Grim, even for a Travelodge. One of two lifts broken. Vending machine broken. Lobby carpets lifting. Room carpet a tapestry of stains. Sweltering rooms with no air conditioning. Handy location, though. And they did provide a fan, so that’s nice. Still, I’ll give it a miss next time.

  • 1/5 Nicola B. 1 year ago on Google
It was the same receptionist on check in and check out who was very pleasant and polite. However Mattress, wow don't think it's been changed since the hotel was opened. Lumpy, hard, and caused some serious back pain, not a wink of sleep. Someone tried to attempt to get in my room at around 5am then there was a lot of noise following this. And finally I have been itching and scratching all day since being in the bed. Rather pay the extra money for a competitor.

Good location and comfy bed but quite grotty and tired. We were on the third floor and the room looked very "old". Bathroom had multiple stains, damage to the bath and loo-roll holder was coming out the wall.
