Our eighth Premier Inn booking in two years - says a lot! We like the brand and also the location of this hotel. Usefully, Sainsbury's supermarket is only a few minutes walk away as is the towpath of the Nottingham and Beeston Canal (giving a wonderful, waterside walk past fascinating buildings). We walked to England's oldest surviving pub, "Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem" (built 1189) from the hotel in about twenty minutes. Access by car to/from both the A52 and A453 is really easy. As for the hotel itself, the staff are fantastic! Nothing is too much trouble! Our room was as comfortable and quiet as Premier rooms consistently are and offered quick, free wi-fi. The free car park is large and we never had to search for a space.

Brilliant! Stayed here for our wedding. Lovely staff, great rooms. Don't bother with the Beefeater next door though - they're rude! Go to the Hungry Horse across the road instead.

Great hotel, usual good standard of rooms you expect with Premier Inn. Special thanks goes to Shae on reception! From arrival and all through our stay, she greeted us with a smile and did everything to ensure our family had everything we needed. Thank you!

Unfortunately we had an awful time trying to sleep in our room as it was inhumanely hot with very poor air circulation/ventilation. The thermostat was inoperable and the windows could not be opened more than an inch (due to their health and safety guidelines). Although a fan was provided for , it simply wasn't enough to provide any decent air flow in the room as I did find it difficult to breath when trying to sleep at night. We ended up sleeping in the car as it was considerably cooler outside the hotel before checking in a day earlier than we had booked ; not pleased! Kudos to the night staff as they were not to blame for our experience (and couldn't do anything), but there really is an issue with the Castle Marina building itself as we are certainly not the only ones complaining about the extreme heat at this Premier Inn branch. I've stayed at plenty of other hotels in hotter countries, yet I have never struggled to sleep or breathe so badly like I did with Premier Inn.

Great room for 4 of us. Comfy beds and an amazing shower! Some road noise but closing the window helped. Breakfast was at the Beefeater next door. Very short staffed but cooked a tasty breakfast to order. ( decent sausages and non smokey bacon). Location was good. A short walk along the canal for my husband and son to visit Warhammer World. A 20 min walk the other way took us into the city centre. We will return.

Stayed here a few weeks ago (meant to write a review at the time but completely forgot). Nice clean hotel, comfortable beds, good value and very friendly and helpful staff. Will use again when visiting Nottingham

Walk in process was very quick and simple. Friendly staff which also recommended great areas to go to and even printed out some pretty good places to go. Rooms where tidy only real problem was the soap dispenser doesn't work. 10/10 for me.

Stayed for work and this hotel was quieter than in city centre. I has a premier plus room which was certainly big enough and clean. Bed was comfy too. Staff were all very friendly. Car park is a bit dark and with it being winter lots of puddles and leaves.

The worst hotel I have ever been to. The Assistance Manager made false accusations about smoking activities in the room because of tobacco found on table when I would only smoke outside, understanding it is against the law to smoke in hotels. It escalated to me being a victim of age and racial discrimination by the Assistant Manager with false accusations In order to force me to paying a fine I haven’t gone against. I have emailed the team and they seem to be very protective with the people they work. Case file has been pressed towards them for the protection of future clients with different backgrounds ethnicities. They may seem nice when checking in but their faces change when you’re checking out.

Staff were rude when asked about checking in at 1 and checking out later. No reason given about late checkout. They didn’t mention being fully booked. They did not offer on both occasions for suitcases being held. Seemed obstructive. Wouldn’t come again

My stay was very pleasant with the help of a young girl called alina, she seen me struggling with my luggage and little ones she went out of her way to assist me. Very helpful with directions nearby for shops ect. Good location and service!

Really loved this premier inn. Beefeater next door and free on site parking. Also has a lift. I had a premier plus room, was very spacious, clean and tidy. Nice hot powerful shower. Everything you need there. The receptionists were very pleasant and thank you to the lady that came and replaced our light bulb. Location is brilliant. 20 minute walk from Nottingham city centre. Tram stop is a 2 minute walk away. This hotel is situated on a retail park so a lot of things to do if you don't want to go too far. There is a nice bar/restaurant called The waters edge opposite the hotel. It's right on the canal frony with lovely walks from there Into the city. Costa, starbucks, MacDonalds, sainsburys, lidls, pizza hut, 2 gyms and other places.

Standard PI room. Comfy bed. Clean bathroom. Good location. Didn't eat here. One downside was the elephant above who sounded as though they wanted to come through the floor - would suggest you ask for top floor room. TV was ok but v limited channels that actually worked. And the curtain fell off the wall, rail and all. But lovely lady on reception helped put it back in place.

Staff not particularly welcoming and a bit grumpy. Room fine and parking good. Had a voucher for breakfast but staff refused to honour it - made me feel that I was trying to cheat them. I'm not English and I felt that they looked down on me and my friend. The unlimited breakfast was non existent - got served a small breakfast with no offer of any top ups/extras - not as advertised on website for this hotel. Hotel ok for my needs but I wouldn't hurry back when next in the area.

Convenient location for me but nothing much nearby. It's a typical older Premier Inn - comfortable and predictable. Not spotlessly clean - bathroom had hair & dust below the sink next to the bath. Attached Beefeater is OK but relatively limited menu of high calorie dishes. Breakfast is good as you'd expect and cooked to order in this instance.

I love a Beefeater menu. There is so much choice and the food is always excellent. Great service and a quiet room, so ideal for my one day of work in Nottingham.

I've been in many a Premier Inn and like most its a great place to stay along with a price that makes it very good value. The tremendous work put in by the staff in the Beefeater was truly appreciated who were perfect in every way. Thank you and when up that way for work would certainly book here again. Thank you.

I stayed in the other building on the top floor which was a mistake. Whole floor smelt of drains including my room. WiFi was unreliable, it kept dropping out and refusing to reconnect. The room and corridor doors slam with such force the walls shake. The food in the Beefeater next door was average, although the kitchen made some odd changes to one of the dishes. Plus the freeze dried lemon slices in the drinks look awful!

Rooms are a little ‘tired’ in places but clean and ready when needed, staff are friendly and efficient, restaurant food is good.

Brilliant stay . Could have had a bit more shower pressure but excellent service and felt very welcomed by the reception staff member 👏

Very quite hotel. Close to tram stop very easy to get to the centre of Nottingham. Easy to get to off the ring road. Staff polite and friendly always helpful

A great place for overnight plenty of eateries about. Louise the receptionist was very friendly and helpful as I 'd booked the wrong date so she helped on getting us a room for the night as we drove all the way from Kent, so too have Louise at reception was a godsend a really big thank you to her and the professionalism and warm welcome she had given too us.

It's a standard premier Inn with basic facilities. Staff are friendly and helpful. Premier Inn is located pretty centrally and a short walk from the marina.

Friendly staff and a clean room, but my sleep was completed ruined by the room temperature. Almost 23 degrees all night despite the radiator not being on! I opened the window but this left me trying to drift of to the not so pleasant sounds of Nottingham at night. Ended up striping the bed and using the bottom sheet as a light duvet. There are signs above the thermostat saying that it can heat the room but not cool it. Spoke to the girl behind the desk and she said the manager advised that the rooms should be warmer rather than cooler - doesn't really make much sense if customers can't cool the room?

Dated premier inn , the rooms were so hot with no air con , beds were not that comfy

  • 4/5 Nicola S. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely apart from heat. Given a leaflet to tell you how to cool room. Sign on control unit stating it only hests the room ! Sauna temperatures !!!

Very hot rooms with no air conditioning and windows that only open a tiny amount. The heat was unbearable all night. I cannot recommend staying here any time other than winter. Which is a shame, because the bed, cleanliness and location were all great, and the staff very pleasant.

So I needed a room at short notice and booked on the Monday through the business account. Unfortunately the system only gave me one option for £140 for a plus room plus I needed to pay extra for breakfast. The room was the normal layout with a few extra touches like a nice picture, coffee machine and couple of chocolates. The shampoo bottle in the shower was empty and they don't provide shower gel. Stick to what you do best guys and provide accommodation at a competitive rate and stick to your target market.

If you are staying here especially over the next few days or when temperatures are high take as many fans as you have. I had read on here about it being warm so took one with us and there was one in the room. The room temp was constantly 27.5 c no matter what we did to try and cool it, didn’t even cool down at night. Without fans we would of been unable to sleep in there. We checked out a day early due to the temp of the room. Mentioned this to reception and I’m guessing they hear it a lot as no response to our comment. Very helpful refunding our breakfast payment for the next morning and the room was clean and comfortable. Just a shame about the heat.

Ideal little stopping point and pretty nice spacious room. Food next door was a good 9/10 in the evening and I couldn't fault the breakfast in the morning. They even pack your food up and take it to your room if you would rather not sit in the restaurant Close to a nice walk and few other takeaways if you're staying a couple of nights and fancy a change

Great location, rest is utter trash! Booked a premier plus room and had no hot water! Was told all the premier plus rooms have been like that since refurb. Just given an email address to complain. Over a month later, nothing

Absolutely brilliant. The staff were so friendly and helpful, including in the Beefeater restaurant next door. Lovely comfortable rooms and quiet and peaceful.

Just a short 15-20 minute walk from the town, which wasn't too bad, and was mostly along a pretty canal. I wish I'd have booked another night! The reception staff were very accommodating of my vehicle (I didn't want to leave at checkout time - cheeky!). I'd love to visit Nottingham again and honestly I'd probably stay here again when I do!

Pleasant staff and a clean room, the Beaf Eater next door could do a little better, friendly staff but the food is at best mediocre, celiacs be warned, some of the meals listed on their website as gluten free are in some cases made with different ingredients on site, always ask. The building is in need of some maintenance which appeared to be underway, somebody should empty the exterior bins and clean up the cigarette ends strewn over the pathway.

I stay in a lot of premier inns across the country and so far this one has been the worst yet. The bathroom had not been cleaned, toothpaste all down the sink, remnants in toilet. The lady at reception had to clean again but the toilet was still dirty. In the times that we are in there really is no excuse. The breakfast was disappointing as the porridge was served in a finger bowl. Will make sure we stay away from here in the further. Your letting the side down at this hotel as usually the rooms are clean and the breakfasts are great.

This hotel has a good location with several restaurants and a supermarket nearby. Plenty of parking and it’s been recently revamped, so has standard and premier plus rooms. I stayed in a standard room which was okay, but shame they revamped parts of the hotel but left the hospital bathroom floor and old furniture. There’s no air con, so just a wall heater and a fan. Service wise the staff in beefeater were friendly, but the food was really lacking. The evening meal wasn’t pretty poor and at breakfast no veggie sausages. I’d stay again but it’s not the best Premierinn I’ve stayed in.
