A great selection of drinks and very friendly service. On Sunday there's a choice of Roast dinners, wraps and a specials board for those that prefer something other than roasts. Dinners are £15 so not too expensive. Be sure to book in advance.

Lovely place to have a drink. It has a very friendly atmosphere, staff is really lovely and friendly. I felt welcomed and I enjoyed my Guinness that was poured with lots of care. I must say is one of the best I have tasted lately. I have to come back!!!

Hard to judge its true atmosphere for me, as it was the first time I went there over the weekend just gone, and it was inhabited in the main by football fans for the FA Cup Forest game. That said, despite the large number of people in and outside the pub, service was quick and friendly and the beers good. Hopefully I will get an opportunity to visit again on a quieter weekend.

Traditional city centre pub In Nottingham. Serving two ales from navigation brewery and also serving standard pub grub. It’s really What you’d expect from a city centre pub no frills but serves its purpose well. Friendly staff. Recommended if in the centre of Nottingham and after a swift beverage 🍻

Well located pub in central nottingham. Everything you want in a neighborhood pub with the addition of better food than usual. Surprisingly good house wines.

Had a wonderful sunday roast. The roast tasted local and I also enjoyed some chicken satay skewers, too. They have a huge TV at the back of the pub - great view for World Cup. The staffs are lovely and kind enough to let me try a sip of the ale with an interesting name before buying a pint.

Real proper traditional Nottingham pub. Great selection of draught beers and lagers including selection from local Nottingham brewery Navigation. Busy but still able to get a table. Great location just by the tram stop so great place to meet at the beginning of a night out or last drink before you get the bus or tram home. Lovely decor. Menu with selection of dishes but not sure what time they are served.

We called in for a drink and some lunch after Xmas shopping. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Ace because on the telly Everton got a last gasp point which raised the tension at the bottom of the Premier League. Then I left the pub to go to the WFCG and Forest neat Arsenal 1-0. Seriously though the beer is not too bad and the staff is polite.

The beer was lovely and we had nice service. There was also a really good live band playing when we were there but they were far too loud.

My first visit so booked to go with family. I had the beef Sunday lunch. The beef and vegetables were good, beef tender and perfectly cooked as were the Veg. The Yorkshire pudding though we're awful. Overcooked and dry,. When choosing the desert we were told they only had one apple crumble left. This was at two o clock. I could understand if we were there at a later time. The service was great, no complaints there. All in all a little disappointed.

Top notch Sunday lunch. Very generous portions with great selection of veg and served piping hot with an extra jug of gravy - perfection - worth every penny. Staff are lovely and attentive without being intrusive.

Fantastic Christmas Dinner. Unique taste, generous portions, even the Christmas crackers were of highest quality. Can be crowded though. Decor needs updating.

Great pub. Seems to have improved quite a bit since the new owners came in. Decent food. Staff are friendly and service was always quick. Good atmosphere. Big screen for watching football.

Hi Enjoyed our Sunday lunch today just a little disappointment on getting one small slice of Beef and no substitute for ice cream on puddings. Great service and happy staff. Thank you. only getting one small slice

Very disappointing Sunday lunch. Roast vegetables barely cooked, beef very hard to cut topped off with doughy Yorkshires. £77 wasted. We won’t be going back.

I had booked an event far in advance but when I arrived unfortunately there was miscommunication between team members on different shifts and it didn't seem to be on the system. Nevertheless, Max was super helpful and got us a table on a surprisingly busy Thursday night! Another great experience at The Cross Keys.

Great staff. Great beer. Great food. Lovely old pub, staffed by super young people who are eager to help. Great choice of different beers and food (unfortunately finishes at 5 pm). Outside seating too.

A reasonable Sunday lunch, fairly priced but the veg was a little lackluster and they were a little stingy on the gravy. The upstairs dining room is a good size and well decorated but can get quite loud if the other diners aren't quite.

Came here for a group Christmas meal in their upstairs room. Tiny stairwell to access and the room was so poorly lit we could barely see each other round the table. Needs much better lighting to host for food upstairs. The Christmas meal was below average. Soup was good, any vegan option was very basic and something you could cook yourself at home, tiny portion of Christmas pudding for dessert, barely even a slice. Other people's food: chewy pork crackling rather than how it should be! Pretentious looking salmon starter. Below average food for the price! Overall not impressed and wouldn't recommend for food or a group meal.

I don't know the typical clientele here, tonight there were lots of gents and beer drinking. Should have realized this wasn't a good pub for food. The good: Beer was great, staff kind and helpful to myself and family, gave our dog a water bowl. The Bad: food was rubbish. We had 4 different plates: fish and chips, worst I've ever had unfortunately. I hate leaving food on my plate, couldn't finish the fish, Chips were undercooked and soggy, mushy peas seemed old. Burger didn't taste good, veggie burger maybe took two bites before pushing it aside. My wife complained and only got a slight shoulder shrug. No discount off bill. I'd like to give the place more stars for the good, but the food aspect is too important in this case. Sorry about the poor review, definitely have to check your kitchen, i don't know I'd want to know the state of the kitchen, I feel like this could be on Ramsay's kitchen nightmares. I wonder if the food is old, stored too long, I could only speculate. Sorry, but I won't be back.

Nice pub, bigger than it looks from the front, a good variety of beers, along with good service.. We popped in whilst out with friends for a couple of beers and the Brook / Khan fight was showing, so we stayed for the rest of the evening. Not just a sports bar, there are plenty of tables, you can sit and chat over a meal if required. There are real ales available... Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, well done guys, keep up the good work. 👍

Went for Sunday lunch. Great beers, excellent service. The lunch was good but not great. Everybody's Yorkshire puddings were a bit overdone. A bit of crispiness is fine, but none of it should be black and crumble to dust when chewed. Beef was nice, others enjoyed their lamb and pork. Not served with much veg, but I still struggled to finish everything so overall portion size can't be bad. I'd definitely eat here again but I'd like to try the regular menu. Don't be put off trying the Sunday lunch, it might be just how you like it. And I'll say again, the service was excellent, lovely friendly and efficient staff, can't praise them enough.
