I can not say enough good about this iconic sub shop. It's been around forever and for good reasons.. if you want a great sub (not from a chain restaurant) with a smile that is super fresh and at a great price then look no further.. Kaiser's sub shop is hands down the best and freshest subs in the Lower Sackville Area..

Best fresh submarines ever. It's phone ahead and take out only. If you don't call ahead and place your order first, you ain't getting any LOL it's really worth a phone call. Enjoy!

A legendary spot, worth the trip to Sackville for sure. Sub is great value, bread was perfect, and no shortage of toppings.

After driving from Alberta to Nova Scotia, the first place my brother said we would be stopping at is Kaiser's to pick up some subs before we unloaded the vehicle. I met Rick, the owner, who talked about how important it was that his staff learn how to make the sandwiches right, before making them fast. An article hanging on the wall quoted Rick as saying he makes each sandwich as if it was for himself - I think he backs that up. The article also went on to say the care that is taken to use only quality ingredients, including having several meat suppliers to get the best tasting meat from each supplier. While waiting for my deluxe cold cuts, several people came in to the store and Rick thanked every person for coming in - I was really impressed with the personable customer service. So, all said...was it worth the stop? You bet; the sub was delicious! I didn't have a sub shop as a "must-go" place until now. The sign outside the store says "43 years and counting." Doing something that well for that long is a great accomplishment...I'll definitely be back!

A lower Sackville institution. Kaisers has been churning out the finest cold cut subs in Halifax for decades. They're still doing order ahead and curb side pickup like the covid times, likely due to how small their space is. Great subs, good staff, local business, kaisers is the real deal.

This place is a well-oiled machine! It’s a Sackville staple. Sure, their Covid system is a little janky, but at least you get to wait comfortably in your car AND they’ll have your order on file - that’s service. Just don’t stand too close to the speaker if you’re outside - it’s louder than it looks!!! The bread is especially good. All round, Kaiser’s is a solid 3.5 to 4-stars for a consistent, no-fuss sub (but it’s a Nova Scotia 5)! I’d like to reserve true 5-stars for legendary sandwiches like: La Bottega in Ottawa, Central Grocery in New Orleans, Schartz in Mtl…but Kaisers is a staple and I just couldn’t bring myself to give them anything less than 5.

You cannot beat the tried and true cold cuts here. Ingredients feel measured they are so well proportioned and consistent. Every sub I've gotten from here makes me want to go back asap. And keeping the low costs is really quite impressive. The onions seem perfectly cooked every time and really elevate the sub.

I was so disappointed. I've always loved Kaisers for decades it was the best. I ordered a turkey sub toasted with all the regular toppings. Their subs always smelled so good you knew it was a kaiser . Tonight my sub was so light on the turkey I couldn't taste it and there was so many onions on it that it overpowered the entire sub. I couldn't taste anything else really. I could have made a lettuce oinion sub at home for free . I dont know what happened or if this was a one off but wow I am disappointed at the very poor quality tasteless sub today...as for service , I phoned in my order as that is the only way now and when I got there the friendliness that was always there before is gone. I paid and my sub was handed through a window. No smile no thank you nothing. Not a nice experience at all..won't waste my money or my gas for them again

Best sandwiches in the province, there's a reason there are always people waiting around out front for their names to be called out for the good stuff. It's literally worth the drive from Dartmouth just to get the hookup. Some have been known to call it simply Sackville Sandwich, but it's legit an institution. Turkey on white, extra cheese, easy extra mayo, no oil. Those thin onions are like round crunchy pungent little presents. Be aware that there is no dining in, in fact post covid you need to call in your order via phone and then they hollar out the window for pickup. But it doesn't matter. You could eat it drunk in the bathtub talking nonsense like David Hasselhoff and you'd still be on top of the world. Had to go online and review this place because once you know about it, you're part of an exclusive club, this place is straight up beloved by its patrons. Seriously, worth the drive even if you don't live in Sackville.

Great subs, always fresh and tasty! Can't rate the atmosphere, since it's only a take out window! Calling in to order is fast and great!

Great subs, little pricey. Quick note, please stop cutting the subs on the paper. Holy hell, half the people who eat there are contractors eating in their truck. It goes everywhere, it wouldn't be such an issue, but there's not even an option to eat inside. ... Great subs though!

First time trying Kaisers last night, after living in Sackville for 20 years. Absolutely great food, first class meats and really well made. Small concerns at the service - we ordered by phone, were told it would be 10-15 minutes, and were at the window waiting after 10. While we were waiting, another customer came up who did not know about calling ahead, so we helped her with the number. Long story short, she called, then got her sub about 10 minutes later, while we still waited. We had ordered two small subs, nothing special, and it was 35 minutes from the time we ordered until they were ready, with no apparent reason. So...service...not so much. Food...first class, best subs we've had in a LONG while.

Love Kaisers!! A staple in the community for over 40 years!! Everything is super fresh and made just the way you like it. Sure, it might be a little pricier than the big name shop we all know, but it’s in the flavour!!! And you’re supporting local!

This, in my opinion, is the best place in North America to get subs. They have been open for decades and there is a reason. The ingredients are always fresh and the sandwiches are well worth the money. I only wish they would branch out but they're happy with their business as is. I will continue to go there but there is one thing that I don't like about the shop. Since COVID started they closed the entrance to the shop and you can only place your order by phone and pick it up at the window. You can't go into the store at all, which is a PITA especially when there is bad weather. But the guy has it going on and I never go anywhere else for a sub.

First time here because of the reviews. Ordered a lrg ham and cheese sub with the basic works. $9.99 for this footlong sub and it’s great. I look forward to trying something more exciting.

Enjoyed this restaurant years ago. Glad to see it still holds number 1 for subs. Subway has nothing in comparison!!

I’ve been going to Kaiser’s for my sub since I was 12 years old. They’ve updated to keep up with the times but they’ve kept their amazing customer service and amazing subs. Will always be a 10 out of 10 from me.

A curbside store that sells subs that are more like a memory of old school subs with great taste. They beat out subway if you like a good old fashioned cold cut sub. Delicious !!!

Well, I just finished my first dmsandwich from Kaisers, and this place is instantly my favorite restaurant. Everything about the sandwich was amazing. One thing I will point out is make sure you call ahead. There were a few people there that were angry because they couldn't order at the window. Its not the girls fault and when you call in they are absolutely fast and it's painless, you just go to the window and wait for your name. The service is much faster than any restaurant in the area and the food his great.

Not as good as the narrative makes people think, just reminds me of the subs pre packed at sobey/superstore or ones you make at home, yes it’s likely better for you than those other sub places but so much more options at others

  • 2/5 William R. 7 months ago on Google
What happened to this place has the owner changed or is he content with sabotaging his business. These subs used to be great, The staff where friendly now they glare at you though the window and the subs are just meh flat lifeless and just not the same.. and yes I've been many more times than the review I left four years ago... Best sub in the HRM hands down... This was four years ago.

Yummy! Subs are always fresh and delicious 😋 4.5 out of 5 stars. More bread options would be neat and an updated menu with prices. Beware: you have to order via a phone call; it is their system...kind of strange and kind of annoying. Otherwise it's pretty awesome!!!!!!

Just paid $50 for 3 large subs which is pretty outrageous. To make matters worst, we get them home and realize they are no where near a 12 inch sub that the large is supposed to be. The subs are closer to 9 inches. Seems as though they are making the buns smaller to rip you off even more. Considering they are 25% smaller than they are supposed to be means I paid the equivalent of $62 for 3 subs. Never again!!

I didn't know they only took phone/online orders. That was kinda annoying as I had to order then walk around for 20 min to get my food but if I knew before heading over I probably would of preferred it. Amazing food and prices are great. I'll go back for sure.

Absolutely our favorite sub shop! A very busy spot! Never had a problem with anything at all. We call in our order, drive in from Dartmouth and pick up at the window. There's too many reasons why this family, community sub shop has survived as long as it has...

Quality subs for a fair price. Can't speak for all the sub shops in the city but for as far as Sackville goes this place can't be beat. I'd go for this over Subway any day of the week. I'm taking off a star because I'm not a huge fan of the current call to order set up.. You can literally show up in person and they still want you to call. Its not a big deal just different for sure. I also feel like the subs have gotten a bit smaller in the past few years. Overall good product. Will continue to be a customer and recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

Not worth the time it took or the price. 2 boys or Tanners blows the quality and price out of the water. Half the price, twice the quality at Tanners Allstars.

After my first trip to Kaiser's, I'm mad, mad that there's not a Kaiser's on every corner in Canada. As a sandwich lover who has lived across Canada, I can tell you that places like this are few and far between. There's nothing fancy going on here, no secret sauce, no magic. It's simply the sub of your fondest childhood memories. The shredded lettuce alone may make you weep. I do wish there was seating at Kaiser's, and the way they cut the sub through the paper is far from ideal, but so long as the subs remain this good, they can do as they please.

Delicious subs made fresh and quick. Love the bread and Veges. Well priced and friendly staffed. The place to go in Lower Sackville.

curbside only kinda sucks, ... but understandable... doesn't change that Kaisers are the best subs around !!!

I love driving from Moncton to get Kaisers. I wish there was one in Moncton. Best place for sandwiches. Subway or Mr. Sub can't even come close. Go to Kaisers you will love it just like me.

It's still weird, but the food hasn't changed in my decades of eating there. I take that back a bit...the subs seem to have shrunk a bit but that's ok. Also, it's best to call the order in as they don't let folks inside (Dec 2022).

  • 5/5 MARYLOU S. 1 year ago on Google
The deliciousness is in its simplicity. It’s nothing fancy, and that’s what makes it so good! And you can’t get fresher bread anywhere else.

As a third generation Kaisers patron, I can definitely say they have one of the best cold cuts around. Always fresh ingredients and consistent taste.

Amazing food! We had ordered 3 subs and 1 chili for 4 people. It was enough to feed us all with some extra for later! Highly recommend

  • 5/5 Matthew B. 1 year ago on Google
Real busy at lunchtime but staff seem to have the ordering system down pat. Ingredients very fresh, and veggies sliced expertly. Price very fair. The ladies outside raved about it and convinced me to make an order. Once you hear your name announced over the speaker, a delicious treat awaits.

Been ordering from Kaiser's since a kid and every time I am in Lower Sackville, I have to stop and get double stuffed cold cut with the works. Best subs in Halifax Regional Municipality

  • 5/5 Ashley P. 2 years ago on Google
I've been going here since I was a child. When I moved away to Ont. We'd fly home and it was always our first stop. Recipe unchanged, fresh buns, chips veggies, fast and always great staff! Get yourself a Lg. Pepperoni and cheese, with the works, no oil, microwaved, you're welcome!

  • 3/5 Michelle G. 1 year ago on Google
I have to say since new owners took over they have less meat and less onions (my car didn't smell like kaisers for 24 hrs) and less veggies. This business has thrived for far too long to come in and change these classic gems!!! Please go back to the way it was for the last 100 years..... PLEASE
