Mod Pizza is a lot of fun. Here's how it works: First decide if you want a 6" pizza or an 11". I found the 6" was plenty for me. It has four small slices. These are personal pizzas but I suppose you could split an 11" pie between two people if you wanted. Then you select whatever toppings you like at the toppings bar. The staff builds your pizza... kind of like at Subway, while you watch. Any and all the toppings are included in the one price. Load it up! If you aren't feeling adventurous, you can order a "classic" pizza with pre-determined toppings. But where's the fun in that? 😃 At the same time you can have them build a salad. They are very good and definitely worth getting to complement the pizza. After they build your pizza they will cook it a call your name when it's done. This took less than ten minutes. And the pizza is really tasty! We will definitely eat here again!

I don't expect excellent service in a make your own pie place, however when 3 different people take my order, and reask me 6 times what I got, then give me the wrong order anyway, after confirmed 6 times, it's an issue... Waited 40 minutes for a pizza and a salad (there were 2 people in front of me), got the pizza 15 minutes before the salad, and both orders were wrong. The pizza was already undercooked by the stoner 18 year-old manning the oven. Needless to say, by the time I got home the pizza was already ice cold and rock hard from sitting, (I live 5 minites away). Good thing all those other places opened up across the parking lot.

Twice in a row these people managed to put my tag on the wrong pizza and send it out for delivery. Food is usually great, but the current staff has the combined IQ of a rock.

Very dirty tables, soda fountain area, overflowing garbage can and the bathroom was disgusting. They had plenty of help so I wish someone could have cleaned up a bit . Had to change tables because the one we sat at first had a sticky substance on a big spot of the table top. Food was good but couldn't help wondering how clean/dirty the food prep and worker's hands were. :(

It's like the kid who got lost and they're trying to find their parents. All but a couple tables needed to be wiped down. The dough wasn't rolled out enough which made the pizza 2/3 the size of should have been. The bathroom needed love... The garbage needed to be taken out, the toilets had a rim of dirt and the faucet wasn't attached to the sink. The used plates were piled up as high as 10 inches. It was 3 or 4 in the afternoon so it wasn't busy but the service was slow. I know not all MOD pizzas are this way but I'm not sure why this one feels left behind.

Great pizza place. Lots of sauce and toppings options for build-your-own pizza. Pizza was served lightning fast! absolutely love the thin crust and also ice tea varieties! Service staffs seems a little impatient and not so friendly.

Mod Pizza in Novato offers a customizable pizza experience, but the oven needs improvement as some pizzas are burnt underneath. On the upside, the crunchy crust adds a delightful texture. Despite the oven issue, it's a 5-star place for pizza lovers.
