I came here to get my gel tips removed. The woman who was removing them proceeded to use an acrylic nail to pry and rip them off. When I asked why she wasn’t soaking them off with acetone, she said verbatim, “We don’t do that. It take too much time.” As she callously pulled my tips off, she broke two of my nails, very low, as I winced in pain. I told her four times that, “it hurts!” She said nothing and continued prying, causing extensive damage to my nails. Two of my nails were broken very low and another (which she had the hardest time removing) was red and raw. I can literally see my nailbed through that nail because it is now so thin. She took the surface of my nail off along with the gel tip. Ask any expert nail tech or cosmetology program in the US, and they will tell you that you NEVER pry gel tips or acrylics off because you will damage the nail. You ALWAYS soak them off. Nail removal should not be painful. Any quick google search will prove this point. This salon is negligent. Not only did this nail tech hurt me and damage my nails, but she was also downright mean. She was huffing and puffing and rolling her eyes at me during the process. This is literally the worst experience I’ve had in a nail salon. I was upset all day. Beware.

This is for anyone who’s contemplating coming here if they’ve never been. Today was my first time going to Orchid Blossom in Novato. I was nervous because I have short nails and last time I had them done at my usual spot in Vallejo, the acrylics fell off in less than a week and I was so sad. But also relieved bc as much as I love nails I hate them. I can’t stand my nails being long, I’ve bitten my nails as long as I can remember. So my first time here. The place was small and crowded I came 15 early to my appointment I made by phone and opted to wait outside until they were ready for me. The lady who helped me was amazing. Anywhere I go I get laughs and comments about my nails being short. So I laughed with this new lady and she told me she can only do short nails because my nails were too small. Fine with me bc I prefer my acrylics on the shorter side, and I was already going to ask for them as short as she could go. When she asked me what shape I wanted and I replied coffin. She straight up told me no. I stayed silent bc I have never been told no to coffin nails and I was low key upset. She then told me if she did coffin they would fall off quick and that she didn’t want me to waste my money and have my nails just fall off. It now made sense to me why my nails fell off in Vallejo. They didn’t explain anything to me there they literally just did my nails and they DID fall off super quick. I asked the nail lady what she recommended and I chose to get them square. She said she would do her best to put them on so they last. I genuinely appreciate the advice and care that she put into my nails and am super happy with the results. She clearly had a lot of experience and was kind enough to care about giving me the best value as a paying customer I give 10/10 stars and am looking forward to my next visit. I hope everyone there is as kind as this lady

Love getting my nails done here! The staff is always so friendly, and they treat their customers well. These are just some examples of how they’ve done my nails.

Comfy chairs to have your manicure and pedicure done, the service is fast, it only took 40 min to get my hands and feet ready to go ( regular pedi and gel manicure) and they made a nice little massage that was much appreciated. The only inconvenience I had was that the lady who took my payment complained to me about the tip I gave them in cash. I have worked many years in the service industry and I have learned that not everybody leaves a tip, and they don't have to, even if here is a big thing here! However it is not ok to bargain about that with the customer, 🚨so be ready to tip 20% to not be placed in the spot!

This is an excellent nail shop with friendly, careful, artistic technicians. My is my favorite. That's not a typo. Her name is My and she is skilled, kind and professional. Everyone at Orchid is. They even have a friendly Chihuahua to greet you. Orchid is my go to place for nail care.

Orchid Blossom was amazing! They are very very good here. I am highly impressed with their work! They did the nail design I requested, from a photo that I found and I honestly feel like it turned out better than the photo!! Yudi is truly an artist. As always, the leg massage is SUCH a wonderful addition when getting a pedicure.. They were able to squeeze me in for a same-day appointment but, it was pretty busy there when I came in. So, it is always better to call ahead and see if they have availability, instead of just walking in! Thank you, Yudi! I will be back soon! 😊
