Great setting and connected cafe. Good energy in the room. The class was a very chill, more than I expected but that’s not on the studio. Ended up chatting and having breakfast with a few people from the session in the lovely cafe. Definitely worth a stop to get out of the noise of Colombo for an hour or two.

Stunning rooms and the grounds are so charming. I didn’t live there but my friend did and I was taken aback by how beautifully designed it was. The yoga studio had a stunning ceiling and gave way to a perfect laid back vibe. The teacher Tara did a brilliant job facilitating the class too. I will definitely be back!

I make sure to visit Prana Lounge each time I'm in Sri Lanka and I am never disappointed. An unforgettable place! I always feel a sense of calm upon arriving and the staff are always so friendly and welcoming. On my most recent visit to SL, I stayed at Prana Home - such a beautifully decorated and calm environment. I stayed in the MUDRA room with a balcony and incredible view over the zen garden. Makes you forgot that you're in the middle of Colombo city! I attended a couple of yoga classes and these were honestly some of the best classes I've attended. The instructor (I went to Jacky's classes) was experienced, attentive and the studio is spacious and peaceful. I would say I'm a beginner "yogi" and a bit shy but Jacky made me feel supported and welcomed in her classes. I also treated myself to an Ayurvedic massage at the in-house Ayurwana spa and was really impressed with the quality of the therapist and the overall service. The added bonus to Prana Lounge / Home is the cafe - nutritious, filling and really tasty food, great coffee and just the nicest atmosphere. I left Prana Lounge feeling refreshed, energised and peaceful. Prana Lounge is my go-to spot in Colombo and I can't wait to visit again!!!

I was meant to stay two nights - I'm still here a week later and have another 3x nights remaining. It's been a wonderful stay. It's a great location in Colombo 7 which is a nice part of Colombo and central to most of my activities. The staff are warm, friendly, accommodating, helpful. The room I stayed in (Mudra) is spacious and beautifully appointed. There are several yoga classes a day - I did Hatha with Tara this morning and had a lovely experience. I also did a cranio-sacral therapy with Pia which was surprisingly great (as I didn't know a lot about the treatment). Connected to Prana is Seed cafe which does a wonderful breakfast, brunch, lunch menu. It's *highly likely* I'll be staying here going forward when in Colombo.

My experience at Prana Home was absolutely exceptional. Over the course of two days, I had the pleasure of participating in Sivananda yoga classes led by the incredible Serena. Her dynamic and playful teaching style truly elevated my yoga practice. The mysterious and vibrant energy of this place added an extra layer of enchantment. From the moment I arrived at 10:30 PM, the hotel staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. They explained every detail with a level of delicacy and kindness rarely encountered elsewhere. They also provided valuable insights into must-visit spots in Colombo, enhancing the overall quality of my trip. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Prana Home team, particularly the reception and housekeeping staff. Their attentiveness and assistance were available around the clock, making my stay even more enjoyable. Their warmth and professionalism ensured that every aspect of my visit was thoughtfully attended to. They truly excel in making guests feel welcome and at ease. The Ayurveda Center was another highlight of my stay. The doctor and the treatments I received were simply exceptional, rivaling those you might find in Kerala. The restaurant offered delicious cuisine in a charming atmosphere, perfect for starting the day in a relaxed manner. Prana Home is truly a hidden gem in Colombo. If I had known how wonderful it would be, I would have planned a longer stay. This experience has left an indelible mark on my mind, and it has become a place I eagerly anticipate returning to, to savor its charm and hospitality for an extended period. A thousand thanks to the entire Prana Home team for making my stay so exceptional!

Dear Management Team, It is truly disappointing that you refuse to address my concerns and chose to hind behind a generic answer. You must have found the incident to be true and support discriminatory behavior. So no way to answer. Also you are confirming that your modes operandi is to not keep promises and ignore emails from dissatisfied customers. So no way to answer this as well without admitting to your poor business ethics. WHAT SHAMEFUL BUSINESS PRACTICES?? Now that you have confirmed your shameful practices I will be sure to use the social media to educate people. Anura

If you want to give yourself a gift of a lifetime you should definitely come and experience a class or a treatment here! Especially with Flow, she's an incredible teacher and master! I've been to a special sound session with her and this event changed my life! I felt great relief of a past trauma. I truly recommend practicing here! And big thanks to Flow!!! πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

Nice and helpful staff. The room is spacious and clean. Bed is comfy. Very convenient location. It is an old mansion converted to a hotel. It is a well know yoga hub where they conduct yoga classes. There will be some noises during the yoga training period, but it is not unbearable and do not cause any nuisance. Overall it is a 7/10 stay.

Arrived to a warm welcome after a long tiring flight. The room was beautiful as was the whole building retaining a huge amount of colonial charm. The staff were fabulously welcoming and helpful and the following day we enjoyed a beautiful brunch in the on site cafe. We only stayed 1 night but will hopefully return. Highly recommended

Frankly if it hadn't been for the owners of Prana Lounge we would have cancelled our trip to Sir Lanka and regreted it for the rest our our lives! Huge THANK YOU to Prana Team for giving us lots and lots of confidence in visiting Sri Lanka during this uncertain time. During the entire trip that started at Prana, we experienced nothing but peacefulness, comfort, amazing weather, fantastic food and met heaps of lovely and welcoming people. At Prana, we stayed both at the start (2 nights) and end of our trip, we loved it this much yes! The ambiance of the place is peaceful and unhurried, there is enough space for you to hide away but also if you feel sociable you can use the courtyard seating area or the cafe (top selection of breakfasts - yum and healthy!). The place seems to be popular amongst a mix of travellers and locals. The rooms are beautifully designed, spacious and super comfortable and we loved the eco vibe of the locally sourced bathroom toiletries, refilled water bottles etc. The post colonial feel is present and nicely complimented. Last but certainly not least we can 100% recommend the yoga!! The class we attended was a yin class held in the shala with a beautifully painted sealing, such a joy. We wished we could stay longer but hey there is always the next time :) If you are looking for a perfect place to stay when you arrive in Colombo, an oasis in the city, you should stay in Prana. You will heal, relax and have a space to think about your next steps. Alternatively if you need a good coffee and great food, you should also stop by. Thanks guys, we miss you !!!

I just LOVE this place. Have been coming here for years twice a week and it’s always a treat. You feel serene and joyful the moment you walk in. The girls behind the counter are so friendly and helpful, selection of teachers and variety of classes are incredible, the atmosphere here is like no other place in Colombo. There is a wonderful conscious, ethical and eco friendly store where you can find yoga equipment but also fashion, superfoods, art, jewelry and beauty products. What I love the most about this place is that I can go straight after class for a super nutritious clean meal at seed cafe! My absolute favorite. (must try seed avocado and salmon sashimi bowl) ❀️

We manufacture home / hand made soap and have participated in many pop-up sales, two of which were at Prana Lounge. What really sets the place apart is the super-friendly and helpful staff, a very nice community of customers and fellow vendors. Thank you and all the best!

Very beautifully restored house in the heart of Colombo. The place is managed by good people. Seed Cafe serves healthy food that includes Vegetarian and gluten free food. This place has a good flow of Qi and positive vibe. They attrac some trendy crowd, mostly expats living in Colombo 07. Lot of activities are happening daily from Yoga to spiritual healing. There's lot of car parking space behind the building. Barberyn Resorts who are the pioneers of Ayurveda tourism is running the Ayuwanna Ayurvedic Centre. Drop by Ayuwanna and get a consultation with one of the Ayurveda doctors to find your body type and learn the best kind of diet and activities thats recommended for you according to Ayurveda lifestyle. They have nice beautiful accommodation which is fully booked most of the time. Therefore it's recommended to book your stay ahead of time.

I go to Prana Lounge for Sports Massage with Shawn. I am a yoga teacher and massage therapist myself, and Shawn's bodywork is some of the best I've ever experienced. I always feel so much better during and after our sessions. I travel a long distance to see him, and only wish I could come more often. I also love visiting Prana Lounge. It feels like a Temple Sanctuary. The people are lovely, the food is amazing, the vibe and atmosphere are exquisite. The yoga classes look great. I hope to spend more time here soon!

I love this guest house. it was an absolute pleasure to end my trip on such a positive note. My room was a dream room, big windows, lots of light and tastefully decorated, as if id stepped back in time. I was kindly gifted a free yoga class which i thoroughly enjoyed and i ate downstairs in Seed cafe far too many times, its that good. So gorgeous to sit in there eating delicious food amongst all the plants and in the beautiful Sri Lankan architecture. I actually didnt even leave Prana home in 24 hrs as i had everything i needed there! Its by far one of my favourite places ive stayed in. Staff friendly and relaxed too. I highly recommend Prana Home.

The prana lounge is situated in the very heart of Colombo & yet it makes you feel like you’ve been transported to another realm from the minute you walk in. The energy is everything and the quaint spaces within the lounge, like the courtyard or the artistic touches like the traditional art well preserved on the roof of some of its yoga rooms, add to the whole experience. I highly recommend Jacky Vogt’s yoga class, I had never done yoga up until then and her classes provided much needed new perspective on the body-mind connections. They also have numerous other classes and activities focused on wellness, meditation & movement and the staff are helpful enough to assist in finding the right class for your needs.

Classes are offered here for a range of fitness levels. Great ambience and friendly instructors and staff. VinyasaYoga by Jacky and Pilates by Thushara are two of the classes I would recommend.

We just spent 10 wonderful days at Prana Lounge. We absolutely loved everything about it. We were in a group and had our own rooms yet had time together everyday at the seed cafe who's food was far superior to anything else we ate in the island. The service was incredible and staff accommodated us even to waiting up half the night for arrivals. We can't wait to come back again.

Nice and cosy place to stay

  • 2/5 Alicja O. 3 years ago on Google
The place itself is quite nice but it's not for those seeking peace and quiet. And I dont mean normal street noise of a big city. At night sounds of blasting music from a next door club will keep you awake and in the morning you'll wake up to the noise from a downstairs cafe. During my whole stay there was no warm water and, despite me asking many times, nothing was done to fix it. So I guess no point putting a bathtub in the room if there is only cold water available. Pretty disappointing stay in relation to the prices and the hype which this place, in my opinion, doesnt deserve.

The room my wife and I had was roomy and quaint. The canopied bed was ornate and functional with the mosquito netting. The second bed became our luggage rack. The room was well equipped with a large vanity for dressing. There was quick hot pot for making hot water for assortment of teas and coffee available. There was also filtered water available in the room, and additional refills available at top of the stair landing. There was a balcony overlooking a quite garden surrounded by yoga and massage rooms. There was a large bathroom area accessed as a separate room off the balcony, with a large vanity, sink, shower and toilet.

I was lucky enough to stay at Prana Home a few weeks ago and had a fantastic time. Great room, very homey, amazing staff, great location and amazing being so close to great Yoga and Seed cafe. Looking forward to my next urban retreat next in a few weeks at Prana Home.
