Never been before, came with family and a child. Food was excellent, nice and hot. Service was good all round from the bar to the food and the host. Very good pricing also for what it is under £10 pp for a Sunday roast can’t go wrong.

An honest review, take into account that this is a chain pub, we had a poor prior experience a year ago with drinks (dirty glasses and cloudy water) but decided to give this a go. The meat was good, well portioned... The Yorkshires were ok, nothing mind blowing but fit the bill, a bit tough if anything but that's solved with gravy... The veg was an interesting one, the carrots *chefs kiss* the broccoli however, mush... The stuffing was amazing, beats Toby carvery personally speaking... The roasties are frozen, the mash was strange too but still nice... Honestly it was a nice carvery, just important to clear up that this isn't a replacement for TC but is still good for the price. The staff were amazing too, the table was clean etc, they are one of the nicer green king pubs I've been to, will probably see myself in there again soon :)

Food was very good, had the mixed grill supreme (if I'm remembering correctly). Steak was done just right and the portion was a lot bigger then anticipated. We'll worth the money as well. Atmosphere was very welcoming and the pub itself was very clean. Thanks for the recommendation Watling Inn.

Rude waitresses, chaotic bar service, Carvery prices over inflated by an extra £1.50 per meal for Sunday : why? meat sliced mega thinly almost “razor blade portions”, veg a shocking mishmash of mush, hygiene at self service station non existent i.e. shocking. My first & very last visit to this disappointing pub. NB Greene King as a major pub chain operator you need to improve your overall service, food offering / hygiene & in particular the customer experience.

I ordered one meal carvery and beer then ice cream. I didnt finish cavery and beer but ice cream is quite delicious. Good for dessert after one cavery.

Surprisingly good food! It’s a little like gods waiting room, needs a refit.. Amazing coke, their post mix is spot on, odd to point out but it’s great. Carvery is awesome, they could do with adding peas and a serious upgrade to their yorkies, but all else is great..

I've started going here with a friend every month. We like it. Quick, friendly, the food always seems hot and fresh (between 5 and 6pm) decent veg, and boiled potatoes aswell as roast and mash. The roasts are processed but ok. I pay for the larger one with more meat. Still great value for a huge meal.

The atmosphere is good and friendly, the staff helpful. The carvery is delicious with lots of options for a very reasonable price (£7.99 for a standard carvery during weekdays). Highly recommended!!

Went here today for a cavery and honestly was a shambles... Took forever to be served as was so busy wouldn't mind if the food was half decent but it was absolutely appalling. Flies flying round the meat one actually landed on the metal plate the turkey was sat on. So payed for a large plate got 1 slice of each meat which is fair however it wasn't at all great. Pigs in blankets were grizzly and looked a bit anemic if I'm honest. Mash was horrible and powdery was obviously instant new potatoes were like bullets and the carrots and cauliflower cheese wasn't much better. Roast potatoes were frozen but if I'm being completely honest was the only thing I thought wasn't half bad and the gravy tasted funny. It was so hot in there could barely breath. Will not be returning had about 5 mouthfuls off a large plate dinner and that was because I was starving and didn't really fancy waiting another 40 minutes to speak to someone to complain. Definitely wouldn't recommend anyone going here for food

Brilliant place. Our party gathered for a lunch time meet up and all agreed that the meal, the service and the atmosphere were just fantastic. Speaking for myself, my carvery meal was perfect. The meat melted in my mouth and was cooked to perfection. The vegetables were wonderfully fresh and tasty too. Such good value and such good quality. Thanks to all concerned for making our visit to The Longshoot an absolute treat.

Food this evening was, in my opinion, poor. Carvery meat wasn't up to usual standards, bland. Roasters, stuffing, mash, peas and gravy were not good either. Son didn't enjoy his chicken mix meal. So hot in restaurant also which didn't help.

Had a family birthday meal in early evening, it was hard to book, this place is so popular it's great vfm, we thought the queue was long when we joined but it went right round the bar afterwards. Service was excellent given the numbers eating, food was excellent really good choice of three carvery meats and wide choice of freshly cooked vegetables.

Hello, it seems somehow a review was posted under my name that was not done by me. My apologies to the Longshoot staff. We did eat here and the carvery was lovely and the staff were equally lovely, very attentive and helpful. Definitely worthy of a 5 star rating. My apologies for the previous rating that was not posted by me.

My favourite place for a carvery, absolutely cannot beat it. It's a nice pub with a main menu and carvery. The carvery has never failed me and we visit all the time. There's always enough parking if you use the over spill at the back of the hotel. The staff are nice and the service is always good.

Food quality on the Carvery was good but very stingy portions of meat. Cut any thinner and wouid have been transparent. Not very good value for money and would not go for this again.

Had the carvery option, we all really enjoyed our meal and overall experience. Definitely coming back again. Thank-you so much.

Cheeky lil after work carvery didn't disappoint. Moist & juicy turkey & buttery soft gammon in generous portions, with all the trimmings, my bf had the extra 2 pigs in blankets & giant Yorkie that covered the plate, his beef too was well cooked & tender. Helping yourself to stuffing is a nice touch too none of them stuffing hard cannon balls here. Great value for money no complaints from us

Came here with my Mum to finish our lovely spa day off. Food was lovely and very hot. Was served by a lovely lady called Roxy who was extremely helpful and friendly. Great service, would definitely recommend. Thank you Roxy 😊

We visit here every week and are never disappointed with the food or staff. Staff are all so friendly and polite. The waiter we had yesterday was Liam and he is such a happy, polite young gentleman. Nothing is a problem to him and always a pleasure to have him approach you. Well done Liam, keep up the good work. Your an asset to the longshoot team.

Good carvery and selection of veg. One let down is the aunt Bessie's roast potatoes. Would be a lot better if they actually served proper roast. Staff were all pleasant. Better experience as it has varied over the best few months but seems to have sorted issues

Went for a meal as a foursome, 2 of us had a lovely Carvery, 1 a mixed grill and 1 a burger. All meals were good, friendly staff, had a bit of banter with Becca our waitress. Will definitely go again! 👍🏻

Well, I will not dwell the night time meal or the attitude of one male bar staff member as that is the reason for only four stars,I will put that to bed. Hotel and breakfast was and is value for money if your old and remember the hit TV show that this little gem was the concept for it then you will not be disappointed with your stay...

We visited this pub for a birthday and while it was pleasant enough and the staff were kind and friendly, the food was a little disappointing. Frozen chips and roast potatoes were not something you would really expect from this place and they were very disappointing. It wasn't the worst carvery but certainly not the best. Reasonably price with a good selection of vegetables on the carvery. Over all an average meal. Quick service and friendly staff, just an average meal.

I visit this pub regular mainly to meet a friend for a carvery and a chat. The Golden Years party singer was on. The music was far to load you could not talk amongst the table. The phone was ringing for a long time and no one could hear it. The meal was perfect as normal. I will not visit again on a Wednesday. I like the idea of entertainment in day but should be like in the background especially when dining. I felt the entertainment should of been for evening not lunchtime. Also the promotions are confusing as it offers free Tea and coffee which is not offered but then a sign on Till offering coffee and cake for £2.99. Very confusing.

Excellent, the staff are always friendly, helpful and polite and the food is always tasty and you can pile on as much as you want with the carvery. Only complaints I would have are some of the tables are a little cramped and some of the staff are a little too eager with one waitress stood by the table and asking what food we wanted to order before all of our party's bums were in seats or any of us had looked at the menu. Would definitely recommend, just book before hand as it can get very busy.

Good pub restaurant with plenty of seating. It is accessible to all. There is seating near large TV screens that show news and sport. The bar has a good selection of drinks. The carvery has a good selection that is replenished regularly. The carvery is a good price, however its a shame you have to pay extra to have a pig in blanket. The bar accepts cash and card. You pay for the carvery in advance. There is sufficient parking outside.

10 of us came here early afternoon today and they got us a table within 20mins instead of turning us away like the previous place did when we tried to get a table! The lady that sorted us a table was lovely! Probably the best carvery I’ve had in a long time! Trio of meats, all beautiful! All the trimmings, the mash was to die for! Will definitely return!

A fantastic, easy to afford place to eat. Food is great, staff are friendly, the atmosphere was comforting. The only thing that drops the score is lights had sauce sachets in them, walls probably need a lick of paint o brighten/tidy them up and the seats in the booths are a little run down and ripped looking. A great visit though!!

It isn’t the most exciting looking building but it looks pretty decent inside... and the food and staff are amazing. We had a share platter as main and a small carvery. Great portions, very tasty food. Carvery offers lot of side choices and meat was nicely cooked and juicy. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Good COVID measures are in place, one way system.
