Have been staying in Dambulla for 3 night, found this amazing place with a pool which we could use free of charge and the food at the restaurant is just amazing. We have been coming here every day to eat and drink by the pool. I would definitely stay in this hotel next time!

A very disappointing experience. When we arrived we were greeted by a member of staff at the reception desk. She asked what we were there for and we said that we wanted to eat at the restaurant. She asked us to wait while she dealt with a queue of people. Then finally we were shown where the restaurant was. No idea why she couldn't have just pointed us in the right direction instead of making us wait for 10 minutes. It wasn't as if it was difficult to find... But never mind, let's sit down, relax and enjoy some good quality food.... We noticed that everything was a bit overgrown and it felt as if the overall maintenance had just slipped a bit. Shame, but not the end of the world... We ordered food and drink. We waited. We waited a little while longer. Then after about 25 minutes I had to wander around looking for a member of staff to ask for our drink (a simple bottle of water). I was then handed a bottle as if it was the first time I had asked for it. No glasses, no apology. Very strange. But ok... Let's wait for the food.... Eventually the food arrived. What a disappointing experience that was... The vegetarian burger was the smallest burger we have EVER seen!!! We actually thought it was a joke or something.... Its absolutely tiny!!!! The chef didn't even attempt to make the plate look fuller with garnishing, salad or anything. Just a very sparse amount of chips that literally tasted like they had been rolled in a bath of pure salt. They tasted disgusting. The burger bun was also so stale and hard you could have used it to bang nails into a piece of wood. We had to leave it in fear of cracking a tooth! Ok lets try the Vegetable Chopsuey that we ordered... Again, very disappointing... The sauce was bland, a very poor selection of about 3 different vegetables and the worst rice I've ever seen served up in Sri Lanka!!! Surely the chef can't be Sri Lankan serving up overcooked horrible rice like that? I'm not actually sure how you could mess up rice quite so badly... Finally we looked at the third dish, a cheese and tomato sandwich. How could you possibly go wrong? Well, I'm afraid to say that the chips it came with were again so covered in salt they were virtually inedible. The sandwich itself was very basic. Not terrible. But just basic bread with low quality cheese and a bit of tomato thrown in. So all in all our lunchtime visit was not a good one. Shame as the reviews had given us high hopes and we were looking forward to some nice food. Oh, I nearly forgot.... After our food arrived we had to again get up and search for someone to ask for knives and forks. We asked 2 different people and it took about 5 minutes for them to come to our table. The whole time our food was sitting there getting cold... When they did finally arrive the cutlery was dirty!!! Greasy finger prints all over them!!! Now some of these issues could possibly be overlooked if it was a busy day and the staff were over worked. But we were THE ONLY people there!!!! So how does a restaurant manage to mess things up this badly when there are more staff than customers??? We left feeling ripped off, mouths still dry from the crazy amount of salt on the chips and a huge feeling of disappointment.... I don't think we will be going back anytime soon....

Really relaxing and nice place to have a drink (or two). You can also use the really nice swimming pool. Perfect spot to relax after your visit to the cave temples.

Awesome place to drink a cocktail. Our favourite was the ginger arrack. Definitely in my cocktail Top 5 now. You can have your drink in the pool. Owners are super friendly.

By far the best sweet and sour chicken I ate so far. Cleanliness is on point. Friendliness of staff is admirable. Pool is great to cool down, especially with arrack passion fruit cocktail in your hand.

Had very drunk and memorable late night . only place to have a drink in Dambulla.No other places to go out for s drink in Dambulla.Specially if you wanna have a cocktail as such drink. I’ve been travelling in Lanka for one month and can proudly say this is the worst dining experience ever on my trip. We waited for 1.5 hours (even the whole pool bar area was empty) and got the food (you can describe whether it’s good) in the photos. Every dish was overcooked, and the flavour was super odd. You have no need to respond to my comment here. If you get the energy, improve the food quality and customer service. Thank you.

Loved the place! Sundaras is my all time favorite destination in Dambulla. Their food is so very delicious. Also you shouldn't forget the pool bar. Their Cocktail is awesome. Friendly crew. Great service. 👏

1. We had to wait for 50 minutes to get our order even if we were the only two visitors in the restaurant 2. I ordered pork with grilled pineapple, but was given overdried pork with a mix of potatoes and poorly cooked cabbage 3. The portion of the fresh juice was of 150ml 4. Extremely slow personnel Save your money and don’t go there.

It's a great place to chill out with a diverse food menu, which becomes more explicit with a great dimension of varieties that include both local and international foods. The atmosphere is something more to cherish.. I highly recommend the tourists to go through some experiences there!

We came for dinner, for food i have to say you can find better places but it wasnt bad. Its 4/5. Drinks were great Thanks to Damian the barmen. He was so friendly and making magic coctails there. I would like to say about sundaras reataurant & pool club in on word as ' exceptional ' It's incredibly relaxing with a fantastic view, and the staff were very friendly. You can enjoy delicious food and drinks there, and the prices are almost reasonable. The overall experience was delightful, and I am waiting for my next vacation to visit there. The atmosphere really sets the mood for a wonderful time. Finally there is no competition with others for 'sundars' with this exceptional pool with the bar.

This property has clean and spacious rooms. The bathroom is also spacious.The room amenities and the services provided is reasonable for the price you pay. They have a nice pool bar with a good selection of cocktails.Highly recommend this place if you are going on a budget trip as the service they offer is better for the price you pay

Everything was great at this hotel.. amazing staff that is friendly and makes customers feel welcome.The staff was the nicest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. They were always friendly and asked how our stay was going every time. The hotel was wonderful. It was even better than expected. The price was amazing. Simply amazing place. Fell in love with the place. Food was delicious. Develed chicken was the best. We stayed in other hotels close by. They give us free transportation back home . Wish we stayed at this place .
