We came to Colombo for a day for some work. We were on budget and most restaurants in Colombo fort area are expensive. Thankfully we found Torena Cafe. The food is so tasty, good in quantity, fresh, and reasonably priced. We had both our meals here. For breakfast we had scrambled egg bun and chicken bun with lassi. For dinner we had nasi goreng, chicken soup and faluda drink. Everything was really good. The service deserves a special mention because the staff is amazing. Their behaviour towards us clearly showed that customer satisfaction is important to them. They asked our feedback for the food too. Really impressed.

The hospitality is out of the world!! This is by far the most exquisite authentic restaurant found in colombo! The owner seems genuinely passionate about hosting guest! And the food is absolutely the best thing eaten here! Fresh delicacies!!!

Absurd prices, if you want to pay 2 times more than the actual prices of the food this is the place. There are better and quality places like Green Cabin around the area if you want to grab food.

Food quality is not worth the price staff work there just for the sake of working and it took me more than 30 minutes to get biriyani even when the place was almost empty.

The food is tasty but the staff is very unprofessional. I have been taking my lunch here for some time. I have seen this before but what I saw today made me write this review. The staff (cashier and the one serving rice) treat people according to their class. The way they treated an old clerk lady was very bad. I think the management will take this seriously. I guess those two are not the owners. Really bad service.

Not very exquisite place, but we didn’t get poisoned, because of this I’m giving 5 stars. Roti, chicken bun and rice with curry + drinks costed 1100 rupees

If you’re looking for a quick and authentic Sri Lanka bite, this is your place to go. The portions are quite big and the food is great. We tried the fried rice and the kottu for 2 girls and they’re both very tasty. Really good quality price ratio too.

Delicious kitty and this place has A/C!!! A nice place to enjoy a meal in a cool place. It’s very hard to find a place with A/C. Also it’s pretty cheap and their Faluda was amazing

Very local and affordable place! The vegetable soup is rich and nutritious! The rice we got was a huge portion - rather for 2 people than a single consumption. Would recommend it for an affordable and tasty place to eat near the Red Mosque.

Really good food, Huge portions but lady explained that we would only need 1 for two people. She also informed us about the wait times for hot food. She really helped us by explaining the dishes as it was our first meal in Sri Lanka and recommending the spice levels. Amazing service I will be returning
