a
major
entertainment

on
a
20-acre
plot
of
land
along
International
Drive
in
Orlando.
Construction
and
Opening:
Construction
began
in
May
2013,
and
the
centerpiece

of
the

initially
named

The
Orlando
Eye
is
a
400-foot
tall
Ferris
wheel
similar
to
the
London
Eye.
It
was
constructed
by
a
subsidiary
of
the
British
company,
Merlin
Entertainments.
The
complex
also
featured
other
attractions
such
as
Madame
Tussauds
Orlando
and
SEA
LIFE
Orlando
Aquarium.
Opening
and
Rebranding:
The
Orlando
Eye
opened
to
the
public
on
May
4,
2015.
However,
in
2018,
the

underwent
a
rebranding
and
was
renamed
Icon

to
better
reflect
its
diverse
entertainment
offerings.
Expansion
and
Renovations:
Over
the
years,
Icon

several
expansions
and
renovations.
In

to
Icon

In
2019,
Icon

as
well
as
its
central
location
along
the
International

corridor.
Today:
Icon

continues
to
be
a
popular
destination
for
tourists
and
locals
alike.
It
features
a
variety
of
attractions,
including
the

has
become
an

part
of
Orlando's
entertainment
landscape,
providing
visitors
with
a
unique
blend
of
attractions,
dining,
and
entertainment
options
in
the

of
one
of
Florida's
