    I almost left as it was "dirty" No clean table, what was "cleared" dirty, sticky and cluttered...the menu's were torn, and abused. I cleaned my own table etc..I didn't want to embarrass my grandchildren, that's the only reason I stayed. 2/3 hand soap empty in bathroom, and dirty toilet and wet floor Despite this, the staff friendly when ordering. Food was ok. I won't be returning, unless to call in for a drink. The pictures show the table I was at, but all surrounding table's were of equal distaste.

    I suppose this company doesn't care but our visit to The Sirhowy pub yesterday was horrendous. My sister, my grandmother and I went in to have a meal and celebrate my sister's 20th birthday. My grandmother paid, bought me and my sister a pint of cider/lager and we were chatting while we waited for our food. 20mins later, my sister had drunk about quarter of her pint at this point and a staff member came over and asked for ID, my sister didn't have it with her, we had a copy but not the physical card (we didn't make a fuss and we fully take responsibility for my sister stupidly not having her ID) so they took away her pint and and replaced it with a coke, my grandmother quite rightly and politely asked if she could have the difference in money back for the drink. (A pint of cider is not the same price as a soft drink.) The staff member said no very rudely (and we could here the manager and the other bar staff talking about us and pointing at us at this point.) We were of course made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome so we just asked if we could have a refund on the food so we could eat elsewhere. They said they'd ask. Another staff member from the kitchen overheard and said our food is ready and do we want it. We said we were waiting on a decision on the refund for a second so just hold it until someone comes back to us. 15/20 more minutes had passed and no one came to us until the manager then comes bursting out of the kitchen and asked "are you having the food or what?" Very aggressively and very rudely. So we explained the problem again and no one had come back to us with a decision on the refund. The manager leaned over the table and got in my grandmother's face a bit and said she's not given us a refund and the whole situation was out fault anyway. (Like we said we did take responsibility for the ID problem but we don't feel welcome anymore which was their fault) So as we had paid for the meal we obviously begrudgingly had the food. While we were eating we also heard 3 other tables had complained and left quickly as did we as soon as we had finished we left and went to the caerphilly Wetherspoons instead. Were the service and staff were lovely and we had no problems at all and spend a few hours and had a few drinks there. On speaking to other people in the caerphilly wetherspoons, a lot of people apparently will not go to The Sirhowey because the staff and the service are always terrible. They definitely all need to learn customer service and general manners. We of course will never be eating there again.

    Went tonight, had a large mixed grill, wife had Steak. Steak was supposed to be with a Mediterranean salad but came with chips. Stated to waitress that it was supposed to be salad, she came back with there was no salad. 1st we heard. Large mixed grill supposed to have 6 onion rings, came with 3, steak had 4 and didn't expect more than 2with it. They also need to clean up more often, see pics. PS, No butter was used by our party.

    My friend and I had steak which was lovely but the lady who served us forgot to add our garlic bread to the order, I then had to go and order it separately which cost more , in the meantime my food went cold , and when it arrived we’d nearly finished eating, really disappointed with the garlic bread which was wafer thin, wish I’d not bothered now, as I said the steak was really lovely, as was the onion rings, just really disappointed , I know everyone makes mistakes, and I appreciate that it can’t be added to my order as I’d already paid , but my friend and I spend a lot of time and money in Witherspoon in Blackwood. The lady that served us was very apologetic and although this time wasn’t perfect we will be coming back.

    I found 2 wire which looks like from the steel cleaner, I have no idea how they can pack the food without double check that, if I was blind , that’s mean I gonna eat those wires to my stomach, maybe cause stomach bleeding?

    Wanted a quick meal in Blackwood so popped into the Sirhowy. No problem getting a table, however, due to staff shortages, there was quite a queue to order food. I had cod and chips, the cod was tasty, nice white fish in a fairly light batter. Not a massive meal but good value for the price. Serving staff were polite and helpful & the surroundings pleasant. Ideal for a reasonably priced meal & drink.

    Meals were on a set Wetherspoons menu but had a bit of a problem with WiFi coverage so using it to have new qr code scan from menu to access table service was tricky and ordered at bar. With my family member who ordered great value afternoon special comes with a drink hot or cold. Great meal and good portion. My meal was a chicken cheesy burger meal and so delicious. Did not wait long for food, which enhanced our experience. More attention though to clearing tables as many areas were left unclean and cluttered with glasses and plates.

    Came to the spoons for breakfast ordered food specifically asked for bacon to be crisp burnt came as normally cooked ??? Asked if they could just take bacon away so I could carry on eating and they couldn'tcame back looked like the fat had been ripped off with their fingers not even cut off Not happy food has to be taken away and redone hope the rest of the food is still warm upon return ? And it wasn't Also families Sat here in the lower part with kids while the odd language spoken by the P--S HEADS on the upper tier. Also had to move cups off table to sit down and brush mess off with a menu Honestly couldn't wait to get it down me and get out

    It’s cheap and cheerful. Never waiting long for food and never been let down either. Big fan of brekkie there, my kids love the pizza and I recently tried the burger and was so happy with it. For the price it’s a winner.

    I love spoons in blackwood, but someone should really mention that poppadoms should not fold without snapping. Every time. Its become a running joke in my family.

    Both my partner and i Went here sat upstairs table was dirty but cleared, staff were rushed off their feet fair play food was good although ive never seen a 10oz gammon look like 3 pieces of bacon lol, staff were really kind like i said it was manic over there packed would deffinatly go again

    Good price and nice food It probably depends on who is on shift, but I'd say that 80% of the time the plates come nice and warm, with hot food. Sometimes, it can come on cold plates, with stone cold food, and it looks dry. I'm not sure how they store the food, but it reminds of the food cabinets in McDonald's, where it can dry out if it's been in there too long. It happens infrequently, though Staff are extremely polite, and they are happy to try and fix any issues you're having. Very good customer service On a rare occasion, there can be drunk young men looking for a fight, but that, again, is quite rare for me, personally

    Lovely meal in the beer garden on a Saturday evening. Fast service, excellent food that was great value for money. Clean surroundings and a friendly atmosphere. Staff super friendly & attentive. Special mention for the manager Joshua who clearly works hard to run the place smoothly and ensured the service we received was high. Will return and would definitely recommend 👍

    I had the worst customer service experience and that’s coming from someone who works in hospitality . I ordered a panini with bacon but it came undercooked and elastic and when we explained the problem to one of the managers ( Chantelle ) she came across quite rude and was acting like like it was my problem and not Weatherpsoons. She was speaking to me like she was from the streets, (completely rude), not sure that what you want from someone you employ… we will never go there again, and that may not seem like an issue, but speaking as someone from the hospitality industry, I know that number quickly builds up and costs the company a lot of money which can make the higher up managers look quite bad. And yet again this is all because of a silly employee . Shame

    I've been here plenty of times before but never experienced someone so rude as Shantel the "manager" or so I'm told. This woman came to address an issue with the bacon as it looked like it was cut fresh off the pig. (This was on the 8th of July 2023). When she approached my girlfriend and I, she began to lecture us on how the bacon was pre cooked before arriving to site. I accepted this but still wanted the issue resolved, which was hard enough. She needs a good lesson in manners! Then once I was made to pay the difference on an item that would replace my unedible sandwich, she lectured me again on how I should just deal with it because of how hard it is working in hospitality, boo hoo... here's a lesson "I'm sorry, please and thank you". You can start there. Her attitude was so terrible I asked one of the staff "jokingly" if she has spat in my girlfriend burger, as that was the attitude she gives off. Yet to have received an apology

    I had a meeting with a client here, it was my first time visiting. The atmosphere was ok but they need sound deadening on the walls / ceiling. Staff member who served me didn’t know what Earl Grey tea was and thought it was some sort of cocktail.

    Went for lunch today. The service was awful. Both the waiter and waitress who served us were rude (especially the waitress). There were three of us but only provided cutlery and serviettes for two. Seemed annoyed when we asked for the third. Drinks arrived after the food. The food itself was inedible. The one meal of chicken and halluomi fries were over cooked and greasy. The chips looked and tasted like yesterday’s chips and the bacon on the one dish was undercooked. When brought to the attention to one of the staff, they dismissed it. Would not recommend and will not be visiting here again! Shocking!!

    Food was disappointing, ordered an All Day Brunch and it was cold. Eggs were overcooked, cold and dry. We had to send the whole meal back, and looking around the room we were not the only ones. Staff were however very apologetic and understanding. They did send us fresh hot food and it was delicious.

    Worked here for about half a year. Left the company pretty amicably. Had a falling out with a few workers but not management. Headed in today to eat food with my nan and was told I was banned for no apparent reason and got kicked out. The food is okay not the best but it's also decently cheap. Originally had better hopes for this place but it let me down. Would not recommend eating or working here 😕

    Good selection of beers and wines reasonably priced. Comfortable, well spaced seating. Only one set of toilets and they are on top floor. Service turned slow as place got busier.

    Food was horrible had the allday brunch eggs were undercooked and cold. Beans were overcooked dry and cold. Sausages cold and didn't get drinks until we finished our food having asked twice for them before hand

    Good , quick service. You always know what you're getting in Spoons. My only complaint was with some servers not wearing masks over their nose, (most were to be fair) but the security were reminding customers to wear their masks properly but not the staff) Otherwise, all good

    I went with a friend in the morning to meet up for breakfast. We used the witherspoon app to order our breakfast. Service was good and I loved the idea of refillable tea/coffee for 99p! They had a coffee machine so I was able to choose a drink I wanted and make it to my liking. Food was great. I had a large breakfast and it was filling. Definitely will be going back.

    We popped in Fri. Ordered fish and chips x2. After about 20mins was told sorry no fish and did we want to order something else which we did. They offered us a free drink for the inconvenience. We had to wait another 20mins and when my food arrived I only had 4 chicken strips instead of 5. By this time was starving so couldn't be bothered to complain

    I love Blackwood Wetherspoons, the staff are always friendly, the service is always quick and easy. The outside garden area is by far the nicest I’ve seen for a Wetherspoons as well. Very popular spoons, always very busy so has an amazing atmosphere!

    Great layout and generally good service but check your change carefully. One of the bar staff tried to short change me and when challenged just happened to find a £2 coin under the counter, “to save opening the till again”. Seemed like a well practised sleight of hand.

    Its a nice place but why do they (and any other wetherspoons) have oat milk in those small wasteful packages? They have a container for cow milk, so why not the same for oat?? Plus they are frustrating to open - pointless 😂

    It’s a weatherspoons, and you know what to expect. It’s good value for money for food and drink. It’s a lot easier to order drinks through the app than to go to the bar as it is very slow on a night out to get served. Could also do with some heaters in the smoking area

    I wouldn’t even give it one star!!! It was a family get together to celebrate my late sisters birthday. There was 14 of us and no one got what they asked for. No basics…..no buns for burgers, no ketchup, peas , tomatoes,mushrooms or salad. Kids had burnt burgers with out buns No curry and they disguised lemon and herb chicken with a spicy sauce thinking we wouldn’t notice. The trainee Manager Josh was extremely rude but the real manager Steve was great as were the waiting staff.They we’re so embarrassed as they had to tell us what was on the menu(which was basically nothing) Will never go there again and would not recommend it to my worst enemy. Shame on you Wetherspoons it ruined our afternoon.

    I ordered curry rice and chips with naan bread and poppadoms 28th Sept.After waiting approximately 25 mins when it arrived was all cold, I sent it back. The waitress said she would microwave it after waiting 10 mins it was brought back to me The rice and naan bread was cold, I called the waiter again a male waiter this time said he would get a fresh one. I asked for my money back, after 10 mins I asked for my money back again, the waiter said I'm getting your money now, with no compassion or thought for me as a customer. Last week we had breakfast which was cold, which we just ate and left. Blackwood Wetherspoons in my opinion needs to review their customer services, and show compassion for the customer.

    1.99 a pint BUT a very stingey portion of chips with the mixed grill. Aircon made the place chilly even though it's August! This was Monday teatime but still there were piles and piles of dirty glasses, uncleared and unwiped tables etc. Can't blame the staff as they were worked off their feet but the place is clearly under staffed (typical Wethies)

    It’s a weatherspoons, cheap drinks and food. Friendly staff and pretty quick getting food and drinks on the app. Only downside is the place and be quite dirty, tables not cleaned and staff will walk past. I have left and gone somewhere else a few times due to not being able to find an acceptable table.

    The food was great but the pubs hygiene and customer service skills need alot of work. Dirty tables and dishes left on tables. I witnessed staff walk past and ignore it. The table I sat at was not clean and when drinks were served staff didn't offer to clean. No soft drinks available to serve. When food was served we was not asked if we would like any sauces, salt or vinger and only given 1 knife and fork for 2 people. When I asked for a kinfe and fork I finally received a wet fork (no knife or napkin) atleast 5 minutes later by a young lad who didn't look like he wanted to be there and didn't even apologise. Think the place needs to take a day or 2 off to work on communication skills and customer service skills.

    We didn't get our orders taken but to be fair they might have thought we were ordering on the app! So we waited 10 minutes more then decided to seek our dinners elsewhere :) Usually no complaints from us at any Wetherspoons, so we'll be back 👍 at some point!
